'Due to its highly capable sensors, the SPUR can operate in a magnitude of conditions, both day and night,' the developers announced at the army trade show. An advantage to giving an armed robot a four-footed design like SPUR's comes from the stability this quadrupedal arrangement offers. 'When our robots move around and you shove them, these forces are computed at 2,000 calculations per second per leg,' Ghost Robotics CEO and founder Jiren Parikh told The War Zone last year.

Sooraj had bought the deadly cobra (pictured) from a snake-catcher from Kalluvathukkal. Uthra was from an affluent family but her husband, a bank worker, was not well off. According to media reports, Sooraj's family was charged with conspiracy after some of Uthra's gold was found buried near Sooraj's home days after the murder.

An Indian man who used a cobra and a viper to murder his wife in order to take control of her family's wealth has been given a double life sentence in the 'rarest of rare cases'. Sooraj Kumar set loose a highly venomous Russell's viper snake on his wife Uthra, 25, that left her in hospital for almost two months, prosecutors said. The husband obtained a cobra from a snake handler and threw it at his sleeping wife. Its poisonous bite killed Uthra and Sooraj was arrested last year. It is believed to be the first time someone has been convicted of murder by using a snake as a weapon in India. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10088015/Husband-given-double-life-sentence-Indian-court-killing-wife-25-COBRA-slept.html?ito=social-facebook

Auto Erotica by Jonny Trunk is published by Fuel Design & Publishing (£24.95).
Jonny reveals that he drives 'an old and slightly battered 1968 Triumph Herald', adding: 'It’s built like a grown-up go-kart and has a strange charisma and real personality. It stinks of old leather, oil and petrol. When you drive it everyone looks and points and some even wind down their window for a chat about "the old days"'
The supremely successful XJ series, launched in 1968, saw Jaguar through until the 1980s, says Jonny. Its predecessors were 'the quick and compact Mark II (1959)' which 'became popular with police and burglars alike' and 'the globally iconic E-Type (1961) called "the most beautiful car in the world" by Enzo Ferrari'.
The Citroen 2CV or Deux Chevaux (literally two horsepower) was introduced, explains Jonny, as a bestselling alternative to the horse in 1948.
Hillman began life as a British bicycle manufacturer then moved into cars in 1907, reveals Jonny. He continues: 'The British company fell under the control of the Rootes Group and merged with Humber in 1928. They were a relatively straightforward car manufacturer until 1963 when the Hillman Imp and its fastback brother, the Californian, were introduced.
