The Nigeria Football Federation has released a 30-man provisional list ahead of the 2018 World Cup to hold in Russia next month.

The provisional 30-man list which is expected to be trimmed down to 23 for the final list is made up of four goalkeepers, ten defenders, eight midfielders and eight forwards.

Among the prominent players that featured on the list are Victor Moses, John Mikel Obi, Leo Balogun and Ahmed Musa.

Brown Ideye, however, did not feature on the list.

The three senators representing Kaduna are useless-Governor El-Rufai says

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has accused the three senators representing the state of working against a World Bank loan request by the state government, saying they are useless and ignorant adding that God will never bless them.



The governor who is at loggerheads with all the senators, said this while speaking at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress’ campaign for the local government election in the state which held at the Kaduna Township Stadium yesterday May 4th.

According to him, the three senators namely Shehu Sani (Kaduna Central), Sulieman Hukunyi (Kaduna North), and Danjuma Leah (Kaduna South), worked against the $350m the state asked from the world bank.

“The senators from the state who worked against the World Bank loan are useless; they came out and said this loan should not be given. What is their reason for rejecting the loan? It is because they are haters of the masses in Kaduna State. If a road project is initiated in your town, they don’t want it to be completed. If we start renovating a hospital, they don’t want it to be completed.

If five schools are renovated and 10 are remaining, they will not want the remaining 10 to be renovated. Today, there are no haters of the masses of Kaduna State like Shehu Sani, Suleiman Hunkuyi and Danjuma Laah, God will curse them.

God will reward their wickedness against the masses, may God never bless them. All members of the House of Representatives from this state, God bless them, may God return them to their seats in 2019.

Members of our state (House of) Assembly who gave us their cooperation before the World Bank approved the loan to us, may God bless them and may God return them to their seats in 2019. But those ones that are cursed, if they come to Kaduna, shave their heads and beard.

They have shown that they are bastards, they have no origin, therefore, it is important to tell them that they did not originate from this state.

If the time for election comes, answer them with votes, show them that you don’t like them… Let them go back to where they come from. Let them go to the people they are working for to vote for them.

I want my people to comprehend the simple logic that the three senators representing my state at the Senate are starkly ignorant of the real indices of development and progress in a democratic setting.” he said

A Uniben student has shared a photo of their exam question paper and “shaku shaku”, “science student”, and “I like your waist in particular” were included in the questions.

The exam question set for students in the department of English and Literature in University of Benin had a question that goes: “Explain “shaku shaku,” science students, and “I like your waist in particular” as products of a society that is highly influenced by popular culture and dance.

Uniben exam question

The question carries 10 marks and was given to second-year students of the department. A student of the school took to Facebook to reveal that there were more unusual questions asides the one going viral.

She wrote: “There is nothing you will not see in uniben today’s exam was all about shaku-shaku, science student and I love your waist in particular…. And for movies we have jennifas diary, died wretched and tongues of fire…..”

PDP Queries President Buhari’s London ‘Technical Stopover’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the Presidency to end their official secrecy and come clear on the reasons for President Buhari’s alleged ‘technical stopover’ in London.

In a statement released today, the party said Nigerians should note that President Buhari left the United States 48 hours ago and embarked on an unofficial visit to United Kingdom for undisclosed reasons without transmitting a letter to the National Assembly.

President Buhari had on Tuesday left the United States, where he had an embarrassing and fruitless outing and instead of returning to the country, detoured to the UK for another private visit without regard to full disclosure requirements of our constitution and laws.

Indeed, Nigerians are worried about the signal being sent out by this penchant for secret itinerary, particularly, given the poor reputation and governance transparency issues confronting our nation under the Buhari administration.

The Presidency must understand that President Buhari is not a private citizen and as long as his upkeep and itinerary is sourced from our hard-earned resources, there must be full disclosure, as citizens deserve to know the purpose of the visit and the cost to our nation.

This is especially as President Buhari’s foreign trips, which come at great costs, have not brought any gains to our country. Instead, the President has continued to de-market our nation in the international arena. Furthermore, President Buhari’s admission at the Voice of America (VOA) that he was unable to reach any agreement with President Donald Trump on any matter of interest to Nigeria, during his US visit and that he has no future development agenda to validate his 2019 re-election bid, confirm our position that the Buhari administration has nothing to offer Nigerians.

The PDP therefore urges President Buhari’s handlers to adequately prepare him before international outings as well as ensure full disclosure on all his visits outside the country, since he embodies the image and integrity of our nation, until May 29, 2019.
