c an
be
stressful
but
most
times
the
stress
level
depends
on your
niche.
Tech
Bloggers
get to
do
a lot of
stressful
work,
from
replying
comments
and
emails
to
uploading
roms
and
writing
reviews
of
devices.
Most
comments
on Tech
Blogs
are
usually
from
people
seeking
clarification
about
something
on the
post or
requesting
for
something.
I used
tech
here as
a case
study
because
it's my
niche.
I'm a
student
of
Uniport
so I can
clearly
understand
how
blogging
and
school
work
can
weigh
you
down.
Here
are 5
strategies
I use to
reduce
the
stress.
1. Don't
Search
For
News,
Let
The
News
Come
To You
This is
the
best
way to
get
latest
updates
without
stressing
yourself
and
going
round
tons of
websites
to
get
stories.
An
RSS
feed
reader
can
help
you do
this.
Simply
add
the
feed
URL of
all
the top
sites in
your
niche
to the
feed
reader.
Once
there's
a new
story
you get
it
instantly.
No
stress.
2.
Schedule
Posts
For The
Future
Assuming
you
have a
lot of
lectures
during
the
week
and
you
won't
have
enough
chance
to
make
posts
every
day
you can
simply
make
the
posts
on
weekends
then
schedule
it to
post
at any
day of
the
week.
Blogger
and
WordPress
have
this
feature,
it'll
help
you
keep
your
readers
updated
while
you
attend
to
other
relevant
activities.
3. Let
The
Internet
Work
For You
You
may
wonder
how
you'll
be able
to
share
your
posts if
you
schedule
posts.
It's
very
simple
I don't
bother
myself
about
sharing
posts
unless
if I
want
to
share it
on
Instagram
or
Google
Plus
Communities.
Use
IFTTT
to
automatically
share
your
blog
posts
to
Facebook,
LinkedIn,
Twitter,
Pinterest,
Reddit
and a
whole
lot of
other
websites.
If
you
have a
Facebook
group,
Hootsuite
can
handle
the
posting
on the
group.
4.Get
Someone
To Help
You
Run
Your
Blog
Automation
can do
everything
for you
but a
human
touch
always
stands
out
from
work
done
by just
computers.
It's
quite
possible
your
RSS
feed
reader
may
not
cover
everything
you
need to
know
because
you
didn't
add as
many
sites
as
possible.
In this
case,
you can
employ
someone
to post
for you
either
on a
weekly
or daily
basis if
you
have
the
cash.
You can
also
offer
the
person
an
incentive
like
free
data
subscription
every
month.
5.Set A
Schedule
For
Replying
To
Comments
You
won't
be on
the PC
or
Phone
24/7. I
hardly
use
my
laptop
to blog
these
days. I
find it
easier
using
my
smartphone
so it's
possible
you
may
also
like
using
your
smartphone.
Set a
specific
time
schedule
to reply
to
Comments.
This
will
keep
your
readers
engaged
and
know
when
to
come
back
and get
a reply
to their
questions.
This is
my 5
point
strategy
of
reducing
blogging
stress
as a
student.
It helps
me
have
time
for
myself
and
school
as
well.
Hope
you
learnt
something
new
today.
I'd like
to
know
ways
you're
using
to
reduce
the
blogging
stress?

On March 9, 2010,
something
happened which
given the state of
Nigeria right now,
can best be
described as the
mother of all
ironies.
Late Yar'adua and
Goodluck Jonathan
The Nigerian
president in that year
was Umar Musa
Yar'Adua and he had
been sick and away
from the country for
a while. The then vice
president, Goodluck
Jonathan, was made
the acting president
and the entire
country was
confused about the
exact state of
Yar'Adua's health.
Then an opposition
leader, General
Muhammadu Buhari
(rtd.), joined the
growing number of
Nigerians to call for
the removal of
President Umaru
Musa Yar'Adua.

Presidency
According to the This
Day article dated
March 9, 2010,
President Buhari
maintained that the
only viable option out
of the present
political logjam in the
country was for the
Executive Council of
the Federation
(EXCOF) to declare
the president
incapacitated and
have him
impeached .
Buhari, in 2010, said
Nigeria should not
have been in the
situation it was in
the first instance
because the
constitution had
made it clear on how
an ailing president
could be succeeded.
Insisting on
Yar'Adua's
impeachment, he
said the refusal of
the council to follow
constitutional
provisions with
regards to the illness
of the then president
had thrown Nigeria
into crisis and he
argued that the 1999
Constitution was
clear on the issue of
succession when an
incumbent president
is incapacitated.
Buhari, who is the
president now, said
all this when he
received members of
the National Unity
Forum in Kaduna who
paid him a solidarity
visit.
Goodluck Jonathan
was not spared, as
the former military
ruler criticized what
he described as
"extra-constitutional
measures", the
measures applied by
the National
Assembly to
empower Goodluck
Jonathan as the
acting president
when the
constitution already
had a solution to the
problem.

Osinbajo has done as
acting president
Below were his
words from March
2010:
"Political expediency
won't remedy this
kind of problem
because if the
Executive Council of
the Federation had
acted in accordance
with the
constitution, by
invoking the
necessary sections
to declare the
President
incapacitated, we
would not have
found ourselves in
this present
situation.
"As you can see,
adopting extra-
constitutional
measures have not
addressed the
problem. If it had, we
would not have been
subjected to the
raging debates and
controversy going on.
So, we must go back
to the constitution.
"The Executive
Council of the
Federation must do
the right thing
because once we
start moving away
from the
constitution, then we
are inviting anarchy.”

EXCLUSIVE: Buhari May
Undergo Chemotherapy
Treatment For Six
Months To Treat Acute
Prostate Cancer at
Princess Grace Hospital,
London. President
Muhammadu Buhari is
suffering from an acute
prostate cancer that
has reached metastasis
stage and may have to
be away from Nigeria
for not less than six
months to undergo
chemotherapy
treatment, otherwise
known as chemo,
SaharaReporters has
learnt. Source revealed
that the President, who
is being treated at The
Princess Grace Hospital,
42–52 Nottingham
Place, London collapsed
last week when the
first medicine was tried
on him, forcing his
doctors to suspend the
chemotherapy
treatment immediately.
A medical expert said;
“When cancer has
reached a metastasis
stage, it means that
the cancer cells have
spread from the
primary site of origin
(where it started) into
different area(s) of the
body, including the
bones. “Chemotherapy
is the use of anti-
cancerous drugs
designed to shrink and
control the size of the
cancer while
prostatectomy surgery
is performed by an
urologist to remove the
entire prostate in order
to remove the
cancerous cells. “Chemo
drugs are administered
by doctors in cycles,
with each period of
treatment followed by
a rest period to allow
the body time to
recover. Each cycle
typically lasts for a few
weeks.” The source
disclosed that President
Buhari had been battling
prostate cancer for
more than five years
and he had been
advised to undergo
chemotherapy
treatment or a
prostatectomy surgery,
which will keep him out
of the country for not
less than six months,
but fear of losing power
made him declined. With
each cycle of the chemo
treatment expected to
last for three to four
weeks, the entire
cycles is expected to
last for more than six
months. Apart from the
danger of being away
for more than six
months, fear is also
being expressed
concerning the side
effects of the chemo
drugs on the President
because of his age.
Though chemo drugs
are said to kill fast-
growing cancer cells,
the drugs also travel
throughout the body
and can affect normal,
healthy cells that are
fast-growing, too.
Damage to these
healthy cells causes
side effects such as
urine and bladder
changes and kidney
problems, chemo brain
that which can affect
concentration and
focus, mood changes,
fatigue and hair loss.
Other side effects of
chemo drugs are; easy
bruising and bleeding,
mouth, tongue, and
throat problems such
as sores and pain with
swallowing, anaemia
(low red blood cell
counts), nausea and
vomiting, appetite
changes, constipation,
diarrhoea among others.
It should be recalled
that President Buhari
had on January 19
written the National
Assembly, notifying the
legislature that he was
proceeding on a 10-day
leave from January 23
to February 6, and
temporarily transferring
presidential power to
Vice-president Yemi
Osinbajo. The leave was
supposed to last 10
work days, between
January 23 and February
6, according to the
letter transmitted to
both chambers of the
National Assembly.
However, instead of
waiting till January 23
that the leave was to
commence, the
President hurriedly
traveled on Thursday,
January 19, not minding
that Vice President
Osinbajo was outside
the country. Presidency
source disclosed that
instead of landing at
Heathrow Airport, the
Presidential Jet that
took President Buhari to
London landed at
London City Airport and
he was moved to
Princess Grace Hospital
with air ambulance.
Social media was agog
with stories of the
President’s death,
which was debunked by
his aides, especially his
Special Adviser on
Media, Femi Adesina,
Senior Special Assistant
on Media, Garba Shehu
and the Minister of
Information and
Culture, Lai Mohammed.
However, while the
President was being
expected in the country
on Sunday, Femi
Adesina issued a three-
paragraph press
statement later on
Sunday, stating that
the president had
extended his medical
vacation. Adesina, who
for the first time
admitted that the
President was sick, did
not disclose when the
president will return. He
said the extension is;
“in order to complete
and receive the results
of a series of tests
recommended by his
doctors.” “The
President had planned
to return to Abuja this
evening, but was
advised to complete the
test cycle before
returning,” a statement
by the Special Adviser
to the President on
Media and Publicity, Femi
Adesina, said. “The
notice has since been
dispatched to the
Senate President, and
Speaker, House of
Representatives. “Mr.
President expresses his
sincere gratitude to
Nigerians for their
concern, prayers and
kind wishes.” The
extension of his
vacation means Prof
Osinbajo will continue to
exercise presidential
powers for days or
weeks to come. This is
the third time President
Buhari has transferred
power to Osinbajo since
the two leaders were
inaugurated in May
2015. The first time
was on February 5,
2016 when the
President embarked on
a five-day vacation; and
the second was in June
2016 when Buhari
travelled to the United
Kingdom for treatment
of what the Presidency
described as ear
infection. |
