PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole Taken Before EFCC by Eyor1(op): 2:41pm On Nov 07, 2016
The Daily Times which quoted the DailyGlobeWatch said the petition was co-signed by the duo of Dr Osadolor Ochei and Mr Kola Edokpayi and addressed to the acting EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

The organisation reportedly accused Oshiomhole of diverting a substantial part of the funds borrowed by his administration for his private use.

It also accused the governor of enriching his close associates while also claiming to have substantial evidence to back up its claims.

The group attached what it thinks is enough evidence to back up its claims.

Read the fullpetition below:

“On April 5, 2012, EFCC acknowledged receipt of a petition titled: “A call to investigate Governor Adams Aliu Oshiomhole’s multi-billion naira mansion in Iyamho, Edo state,” which was signed by Matthew Edeghase Esq.

“In addition to the said earlier petition, we add that the cost of the controversial mansion, that was designed and constructed by Verissimo (a South African architect), is valued to be about N10 billion.

“The size and scope of the mansion completely negates all possible explanations for the source of Oshiomhole’s fund, which he had used for the construction.

“In 2014, Oshiomhole paid N23 million, via an Access Bank cheque, to Edo state government for a parcel of land he claimed to have seized from the federal government at Okoro Otun Avenue, GRA Benin city.

“At present, he is erecting a multiple-floor Saddam Hussein style bunker on the land.

“Our investigation also shows that Oshiomhole bought the Guinness Guest House located along Reservation Road, GRA Benin city, soon after he was sworn in as governor in 2009.

“The property was quickly converted to the office of HANI and ASSOCIATES, a consultancy firm that has supervised all civil construction works in Edo state since 2008.

“We are reliably informed that Oshiomhole allegedly bought the building for over N100 million.

“A ship-like building is currently under construction along Golf Course Road, next door to Benin Club. Mr Hamed Useni, the managing director of Hani and Associate, Oshiomhole’s business associate, is allegedly fronting as owner. It will interest the chairman to note that this company is the sole consultancy firm for all civil works in Edo state for which he allegedly charges over 10 percent of all contracts.

“Apart from his current residence, which he built with his campaign funds in 2007 and the new Okoro Otun house, Oshiomhole is currently constructing another mansion in Abuja where he has planned to move to, after handing over on November 12, 2016…”

PoliticsOshiomhole Taken Before EFCC by Eyor1(op): 2:38pm On Nov 07, 2016
– Adams Oshiomhole has concluded his eight years, two terms, as governor of Edo state and would soon be handing over to Godwin Obaseki

– However, while he continues to prepare for his exit, a petition against him is currently before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission

Out-going Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state already has a petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with questions to answer.

The petition was reportedly sent by the Edo Non-Governmental Organisations and Stakeholders and the umbrella body is asking the anti-graft agency to investigate the governor for allegedly misappropriating some funds.

”Even as it hurts me being my first time to be scammed. I will like Nigerians to thread with caution with this MMM of a thing and keep on pursuing their dreams as there is dignity in Labour. Making cartoons is funny and yet serious business. Some of Nigeria’s best cartoonists are Mike Asukwo Eb, Basatti and Michael Emenine.

Telling stories using art in a comical manner is a trademark of these cartoonists, most times their works come out funny, and sometimes they can be very condemning.

Here are some really good cartoons of Buhari:

PoliticsRe: Buhari In Edo To Bid Oshiomhole Bye by Eyor1(op): 9:37pm On Nov 03, 2016
In a statement issued by Prof Julius Ihonvbere, the secretary to the Edo state government, the President Buhari will use the occasion of his historic visit to pay a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty, Omo n’Oba n’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II.

The president will thereafter commission several key projects in the state, including the new 5-Star Central Hospital in Benin City; the Upper Siluko Road, the Samuel Ogbemudia College (formerly New Era College, Benin City) as well as the Edo University, Iyamho and the Ugbegun-Ujiogba-Ebudin-Igueben -Ewohinmi road.

It was gathered that the president will also inspect the reclaimed Queen Ede Erosion site, in Benin City.

The statement added: “Party leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, public servants, market women, civil society groups, students, youth organisations, Non-Governmental Organisations and the general public are invited to warmly receive the President and join him as he commissions the projects as part of the “Finishing Strong, finishing Well” agenda of Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole.”

Governor Oshiomhole, who became governor eight years ago, will formally hand over to his successor, Godwin Obaseki on Saturday, November 12.

Speaking about his legacy some weeks ago, Oshiomhole said: “I want to be remembered as a factory worker who worked and laboured as a daily paid worker in the most subordinates post in textile mill.

“Rising to become leader of the textile union and eventually spending eight years as NLC president, then going back home to confront the most feared and vicious godfathers that monopolised Edo state.

“I fought godfathers, which is essential to make way for liberal democracy.”

Buhari’s planned visit to Edo state will be the second in the space of two months as he visited Benin City in September to campaign for APC before the state governorship election.

How much about these currencies can you remember?

With the present economic recession in the country, which of these currencies would you prefer to be using as a Nigerian?

These coins below could be called the ‘big boys’ of the Nigerian coins, as they were introduced much later in 2007. The 50 Kobo coin was made from the Nickel, the N1 coin was made from Brass plated steel, the N2 coins were made with Copper plated Steel.

So far, only the polymer notes have the three major Nigerian languages, Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba, inscribed on them. They are also the only notes bearing the Nigerian flag.

17. The ‘coins era':

There was a time when coins were the ‘it’ thing. The Pence were mostly made from Gold, while the Shillings were made from Silver. These days they have become ‘extinct’ and even the Central Bank of Nigeria tried to bring them back into circulation with the introduction of the N2 coin, it didn’t catch on as the value of the Naira has been on a steady decline.

16. The 1000 Naira note:

The 1000 Naira note was introduced in 2005, becoming the highest denomination of the nation’s currency. It is also the only Nigerian banknote that has the engraved portrait of two prominent Nigerians, Alhaji Aliyu Mai Bornu and Dr. Clement Isong, who were the first and second indigenous Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The back shows a picture of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s corporate Head Office in Abuja.

15. The 500 Naira note:

The 500 Naira note was introduced in 2001, and shows the engraved portrait of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The back shows a picture of an offshore oil rig (why not? Nigeria is known for its oil after all).

PoliticsRe: These Pictures Of Nigerian Money From 1958 Till Date Will Definitely Turn Your H by Eyor1(op): 10:52am On Nov 03, 2016
14. The 200 Naira note:

The 200 Naira note was introduced in 2000, and shows the engraved portrait of Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello, the first Premier of Northern Nigeria. The back shows Pyramid of bags of agricultural commodity, fruits, vegetables, cattle and livestock farming. This probably refers to those early days of trade by barter, or shows that Nigeria is a country that is rich in agriculture.
