Crime / Re: Dogo Gide Killed Buhari Tsoho AKA Buharin Daji During Peace Meeting by fajul: 8:18pm On Mar 12, 2018
jiorhemen:

Hello, those bands are used to increase the magazine capacity of the guns. They are not a sign of damages or defective weapons. Here's the explanation: normally, an ak-47 rifle has one magazine attached to it. Each magazine holds 30 rounds of ammunition. But due to the war situation, one 30-round magazine may not be enough. So they attach another magazine to make it 60 rounds of ammunition. By attaching a second magazine, it gives the soldier more rounds. The soldier is now armed with 60 "bullets instead of 30 "bullets." So, the "bands" you are talking about are there to increase a soldier's firing power from 30 to 60. The "bands" are not there to "hold" a damaged rifle. If a soldier is going for a guard duty in a calm environment, one 30-round magazine is enough. No need for any band to attach a second magazine. But in a very hot and flash point environment, to hold a rifle with just one magazine may be suicidal, hence the "bands" you see on them.
Great explanation, thanks so much, I am enlightened

Ooops!! Easy Bro! grin grin

I think, the author is talking about the very start - y'know starting on the right footing. It's pretty much like this:

Get the content right > lure the right audience > bill them.
This Cycle takes a long time, even when you pay for Ads and stuff. But it takes a
VERY long time if you want it all free...

If you have a good content and passion strong enough - you won't shy away from spending that N3000, that N5000, etc to bring people to your incredible content!

You're right! This "free " mentality stagnates a lot of things... Many want it free - even the domain & hosting! Thereafter they start complaining about how bad the host is; how the host keeps placing Ad banners on their sites without their permission, how the down time is like 80% grin. - Talk of the high price of" free"

Thanks sir. I get it now.

Useless post. Do you know the amount of time and resources you have to put in for your blog to bring traffic?
Do you even know what it means to maintain a very large website?
The programming codes and the URL rewriting?
The amount of money for hosting for many years before you start having traffic?
We in Nigeria always like free things. For your info, there is nothing free in this world and if you are not willing to provide value too to the web owner then you should not expect value from the blog too.
You want the web owner to provide free quality information without making money? That is why we don't move forward in Nigeria.
Get this into your head: "There is nothing free in this world" and you cannot get quality without paying.

Education / Re: Does High JAMB Score Automatically Grant You Admission? by fajul: 7:11am On Feb 28, 2018
I had 255 in Jamb in 2007 but was not given admission to study medicine and a friend who had 190 was given medicine because he knows someone.
I had to rewrite Jamb again the next year and had 279 and I was given because someone had to help me.

My WAEC and NECO were A and B grades and I could choose any either of them to use.

Your chances of admission in Nigeria even with high grades are low.

Sometimes, the admission officers and VC sell the admission slots and in one day, they could raise millions with courses as medicine, pharmacy etc.

Luno is good and I approve it. They are the ones who allow Nigerians to at least also get to participate cryptocurrency. We should learn to appreciate them. If you are not OK with them, get another if you can!

My own parents would have said "you are doing ungodly thing, focus on having a Job"; I have been battling this for years but they do not want to let me go. I want to do business but they want me to be doctor - I did the medicine and finished and yet they still want me to practise - and I will never practise.

If you have supportive parents, it becomes easier to excel than those who want to control and force you into doing something you do not want!
