PoliticsRe: HOW AGRO-INDUSTRILIZATION CAN BE THE "NEW CRUDE OIL" IN NIGERIA by FANE4Naija: 10:15pm On Dec 24, 2015
obasiken:
I was part of a team that introduced some foriegn investors to a governor in the south east. They wanted to start a palm plantation and refine the palm oil to meet europe standard before exporting it.

This plantation will employ 2000 people for a start and return about 1.5b per month to the state government. All they needed was land.

The governor asked us how long before ROI (return on investmvent). We told him 6 years cos palm tree takes time to grow. The governor told us he cannot be investing for his successor to come and reap.

Very sad! Don't even know what to say.

Demmocrats:
Its a welcomed development coming from the new "Clueless One", It will help fund start ups and even enable already SME a breathing ground but for a Maize to grow it doesn't only need sun light, it needs water, fertile ground and modern ways of farming so to provide funds for SME and start ups with out tackling problems in the power sector, High rate of tax imposed by different local and state governments, transportation cost, etc its good as robbing Peter to pay Paul.

This country is heading to the right direction, a direction of been better but it has a potential to be great and i want to see it become great than to settle as been better, we all have to come together and say NO to corruption and work with my Sai Buhari to make this Nation great.

Sai Buhari.
Lmao!@ "the new 'clueless one' "

On the issue of 'fertile ground', you should know that most of these start-ups would end up being a platform that would not only generate employment but would cause the springing forth of many other businesses.

For e.g a start-up that provides a power solution becomes a fertile ground for most others to be firmly rooted in.

Mr Ikengawo, I'm not trying to defend the Buhari administration. But it would have been better if your brain had shown you that those Results are for the 1st half of the year. And we all know that You-Know-Who was in power for that 5 of the 6months. Daalu.

Martins301:
The sad truth is majority of Nigerian youths have been extremely corrupted to the extent that electing them into top government position is suicide for the country. With the way things are, I dare to say that the youths will do worse if they get elected into government positions. If you doubt me, look at the level of rot in NANS, National Association of Nigerian Students, sample the opinion of "enligtened" youths on Nairaland. You will fear for the future of this country. Forget it. The only solution is revolution, complete and total annihilation of the rotten class of politicians.
You see, your logic was on point until that last statement.
I'd advise that we go back to history.
A series of revolution was carried out in this country by 'Youth' between 1966-67. They carried out a near total annihilation of the rotten politicians then. Almost 50years now, I am sad to say that we are no better because of does youthful action or "Revolution" as you'd like to call it.

You are just deceiving yourself. Buhari is a first class brain with proven leadership skills. You guys are too empty to realise what leadership is. Trudeau needs just 30 % leadership skills and 70 % inter-institutional stakeholder management skills. You can be a good place PM or President in the developed countries without leadership skills. Donto even try that in the third world. The man Buhari replaced was not a leader. Pure and simple. Now we have a steady hand. China had Deng Xia O Ping for all the reforms that made that country great . The man was 81 years. The current leader of Iran is in his 70s and he has made his country self sufficient. Mandela, Ronald Reagan etc.c were in their 70s. An old lion is far better than a young sheep. Lion is to lead, Sheep is to follow. Please stop the low IQ talk about modern young brain ..my our are just showing that you went to a Nigerian university
I can't thank you enough.
