Politics / Metuh Talks Tough, Attacks Adesina By Amako Nneji by FANGC: 5:11pm On Oct 19, 2015
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina as an embarrassment to the Presidency who apparently talks before he thinks.

The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisah Metuh on Monday took a swipe at Adesina for describing him as a “broken record.”

The Presidential spokesman had on Sunday, October 18 reacting to accusations by PDP’s spokesman claiming Buhari’s anti-corruption war was one-sided, with descriptions of Metuh as a “broken record” for repeating the same lines.

“Mr Olisa Metuh is sounding like a broken record. It’s the same thing that he says all the time,” Adesina had said.
Adesina wondered why the issue was not whether the people facing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, actually committed the crime but Metuh is saying that it is one-sided.

“I think what is of interest to Nigerians is ‘did this people commit the crime?’ not whether it is one-sided,” he said.
The statement came on the heels of the purported arrest of the Senate Minority Leader by the EFCC on corruption charges.

Reacting through a statement signed by Metuh on Monday, the PDP said: “Mr Adesina, in his habitual deceptive and diversionary manner, left the critical issues of governance raised by Sunday’s press conference addressed by the PDP national publicity secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, and as usual, embarked on insults, shadow-chasing and fouling of the media space with uncouth language.”

“This office has noted Mr Adesina’s several previous unwarranted personal attacks and insults deliberately targeted at the person of the PDP National Publicity Secretary, in his desperate attempt to impress his paymaster and retain his job.
“Our answer remains that inasmuch as we know that this presidency aide lacks depth on his current assignment and has no credible defence, being overwhelmed in his job of trying to launder the image of this government, the characteristic resort always, to lies, malice and vituperations should not be an option Read more http://www.post-nigeria.com/metuh-talks-tough-attacks-adesina/

Politics / How Dasuki Plotted Second Coup D’état Against Me – Buhari By Amako Nneji by FANGC: 5:06pm On Oct 15, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari, Thursday, said that the Former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki during the 2015 Presidential Campaign hatched a plot to overthrow him by deploying the entire machinery and security apparatus of the state against him.

Speaking, through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu at the Red Media Summit in Lagos, Buhari stated that that he won the election despite the conspiracy of the African Independent Television, AIT, and Nigeria Television Authority against him.

Buhari had used the Department of State Security Service, DSS, to invade the residences Dasuki on the allegations of illegal possession of firearms and treasonable felony.

The invasion of his residence was connected to the role Dasuki played in the coup that kicked Buhari out of power in 1985.

Dasuki, who was removed from office by Buhari in response, had said that he helped the Buhari’s All Progressives Congress, APC-led government to power.

He said the government is now desperate to nail him for unclear reasons

“I was fair to all as NSA. Even when I had security cause to act on some issues, inflammatory comments and actions against the government of the day by those in the opposition, I exercised restraint. I did not restrict anyone’s movement, I never asked security agents to occupy anybody’s house.”
Before the May 29 inauguration, he reportedly barred the AIT from covering his activities.

Speaking further Shehu said; “Muhammadu Buhari’s goodwill greetings to you is on account of the fact that he won an election that many people think he was not going to win.

“Americans say that elections are won on the dollar. It’s very improbable that anybody can win an election without money. We didn’t have advertising money on our campaign. Even when we had little money to spend on advertising, the Nigerian Television Authority was not making available to us slots, neither was AIT.
“I remember on a particular night I called NTA, they had 16 slots of one minute adverts and I said I wanted to buy one minute for the Buhari campaign, they said all 16 had been sold. Read more; http://www.post-nigeria.com/how-dasuki-plotted-second-coup-detat-against-me-buhari/
Politics / Kachikwu Lied, Kaduna Refinery Cannot Receive Crude By Amako Nneji by FANGC: 2:45pm On Oct 15, 2015
Report emerged, Thursday, that the Kaduna refinery is yet to start receiving crude oil contrary to the claims of the General Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Co-operation, NNPC, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu.

Speaking exclusively to Post Nigeria, a source who pleaded anonymity maintained that the NNPC boss was being economical with the truth because the plants are not yet in good order, let alone ready to receive crude oil for production.

Kachikwu, a ministerial nominee and Group Managing Director of the NNPC, during the screening on Wednesday on the floor of the senate revealed that the moribund refinery was in good condition and would commence operation today, Thursday.

“We just finished repairs on the pipelines, we would begin pumping crude into Kaduna refinery tomorrow (Thursday) and over the next four five days, they would get the stock that they need to get the plant kicking.”

He argued that any refinery that “produces below 60 percent is no production, because the reality is that the performing capacity of refineries worldwide are in the 90 percent and above categories. That’s when you begin to make yields that turn into a profitable refinery.”

In reaction, the highly placed source in Kaduna refinery dismissed the statement by the NNPC boss describing it as “a mere talk.”

“Even now, I was just discussing it with my superintendent. The issue of receiving crude today is just a mere talk; we haven’t started receiving anything, because we are still working seriously to be prepared.
