You don't know what you are saying ..the day Tinubu was sworn in the true value of the Naira was 750 Naira , it's his bad policies that shot it up to 1900 before he started defending it down to the 1500 it is now

Yes, tinubu devaluing the naira was the result of APC's failed polices on diversification, but at the time, he had no choice.

If we wanted to defend the naira, so that we keep it below N400 to one dollar since may 29 2003,, by now our debt would be around 300 trillion naira. If not higher.

Even GEJ most of you praise...naira was about N150 -210 to the dollar...and back then oil prices were so high until April 2014 that we could maintain it...and yet people complained because there was folk alive that remembered N1-1 dollar (1975-82). Do you realise all he had to do was to just wait a few weeks for Dangote refinery to work and the Naira would have probably only valued by about 25 percent instead of of 130 percemt ..Rather he rushed to increase prices to protect his business interest in the matter even though the hasn't even visited the office or had cabinet...rather they started fight Dangote so as to give those importing Petro a chance ..

So, lets say, the FG is to share $1bn to the 4 tiers of government, at $1- N440 in mid June 2023, that would be N440Bn

Today that same $1bn will be N1.5Trn.

In additon,the removal of the petrol subsidies also enriched States.

Let's assume the country was to spend N8trn on subsidies, half of that would be from State and local governments revenue which is 4trn.

That 4trn would now be given to them as revenue.

So, the economic reforms has been a boon for the States and local governments and that's why many State governors are supporting him.

But are they really away with any cash ?

They now have to spend 10 times more on any project because of inflation caused by the devaluation
