TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by fareemah: 6:48pm On May 16, 2021
Hello all,

I am a chartered accountant with 10 years professional experience. I also seeking admission to study M.Sc in UK. My family will be joining me before the end of my program. But my worries are location of the universities. I really prefer schooling in London to any other city because of the job opportunities especially for my field.

But I am worried about the cost of living for a family of 4. Is it advisable to school in London and still live on an average standard.

Or are there outskirts city close to London where one can live and commute easily to London.

Also can please suggest other good cities in the UK?

Please note getting admission is not really a challenge for me.

Thank you

Living in London with a family is for people with enough pepper...if you are fluid then go for it. If you are not then stay far away from London

Job opportunities will come after graduation regardless of where you are. As long as you are happy to relocate

They want to Nigeria to Liberia where doctors are imported from other Africa countries. Hmmmm Steady decline on human capital index. It wil affect other social indicators.
gen:
The people wey don too chop, wey you dey hate are the ones supporting the fragile health of your country from breaking down in shambles. If you think say e easy, run am go do medicine.

The quality of healthcare will decline steadily, because, nobody will do slave work for free, and the basic job of taking history and bedside assessment will suffer. Laboratory result collection and specimens submission too will suffer massively. Do you know the huge role NYSC doctors, cover, when you discourage them, with no salary, who will fill that vaccuum?

NO worry, when you get diarrhea, and nurse tell you say make you extract your own blood yourself, na when you go understand as e dey go. You should weep for the nigerian populace. There will be massice depopulatio and brain drain. prett soon.

Please can someone confirm @successintef for good French classes.

Successintef:
To have more than B2+/clb 7 in speaking, it is important to speak French as much as possible due to the fact that we are not in a francophone country.

We have got you covered, our tutor has written and passed TEF.

Our fees are also very affordable.

You can contact us on successintef@gmail.com and 09019483442

@Obingene Your success story is inspiring.

Please we need someone to assist and
tutor the French online & possibly physically
- a group has been created.

Someone that has probably written/thought TEF Canada before and understands the grading system.

Please kindly suggest any reliable person.

@Obingene - Pls can you share the materials you used. And also what are pitfalls in writing TEF? How can we overcome it?

My email - adesanyafatimah54@gmail.com

Thank you as I await your response.

Obingene:
I'm sorry, just seeing your pm. Hook you up for what exactly?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by fareemah:
Thank you all for your responses.

But I also want to ask if it's most likely I get MSc scholarship with my profile.

Like I said earlier, I have M.Sc , ACA and 10 years work experience in same Audit . I am also married with 2 dependants.I would like my family to join me.

Do I have a good chance of getting study visa if I secure admission?

What are the chances of getting scholarship in probably M.Sc Finance / Accounting or other related courses?

Will a previous MSc degree give me a better chance of getting study visa and probably scholarship?

Also as regards my spouse, what kind of opportunity can he get on temporary work permit?

Please enlighten me on available choices so I can pick the most suitable option to immigrate to Canada.

With appreciation.

Hello Fareemah,

If you're already in the EE pool, you may look at PNPs or use the next 6 months in learning French and try to score CLB 7 if possible. Your CRS score will be above 500 and if your above to get a nominee from any province, your CRS score will be above 1000 sufficiently enough to get ITA.

All the best

@JustMellow. Thank you for your response.

I am considering all options before investing in the pursuit.

I am not in the pool yet but just a simulation of best possible score.

I have some other details posted in my next post down . please advise

Thank you

Thank you for your advice.

I will consider the options you mentioned.

So, how do you want to boost your points.

Do immigrants of our background have a chance of PNP ?

silvamania:
Good evening sir or madam,

I understand ur situation and let me just offer my little advice

I also have ACA too. I also enter the EE pool but didn’t meet the cut off point but your point is better than mine.

Don’t verify your ACA with WES o, they wouldn’t give you two or more certificates as equivalent .verify your master alone and I think that’s the highest you can get for you education except you have a PHD

What I will advice is that you rewrite ur IELTS to get enough point but if you think after scoring the highest mark you won’t still meet up with the cut off mark. You can try writing exams in French to boost your score.

For funded Masters ( not science based ) . Maybe in Economics but in Accounting or Finance , it’s very rare and you will need to write GMAT or GRE

What you can do is to be looking at masters in accounting or finance or economics that can waive GMAT in lieu of work experience.

You can also try the MBA at UNB.

Going forward after you must have successfully secured ur admission, try to look for easy pathway to earn CPA Canada or CFA depending on your area of interest

Stay blessed

@Lekkiboboe and other gurus in the house, please let me have your opinion.

Thank you

brovaSketch:
As for certificate courses, I really don't know but I think your field has a lot of certificates like ICAN, CFA, and the likes that you could consider. For the french, I'd advise that you take an online class. I'd let @Lekiboboe and other gurus take it from here

Hello Nairalanders,

Why is this TEF thread short ? Are people actually successful in writing TEF exams?

Please can you share your experience and how you made high scores?

And if not, what do think it's responsible for it?

Please also suggest good French centres in Lagos and it's cost.

Thank you to all Nairalanders

@brovaSketch - Thank you for this
Please can you suggest any professional certificate that can add to my CRS score ?
Any suggestion as regards where I can get good French classes in Lagos?

brovaSketch:
Hello fareemah,

I am not an expert but I'd advise you to take short professional certifications or french classes that can boost your CRS score, you have a very interesting profile and stand a chance if only you can add few certificates to improve your points. I really think that the Express Entry is a better route.

Praise at last, is the watchword!

Hello Nairalanders,

Which is the best study pathway for immigration to Canada?

Here is my profile summary,

I have B.sc and M.Sc in Economics and also obtained ACA (Chartered Accountant).
I have 10 years experience in Accounting, Audit and Finance.
My CRS score is around 460 and it seems quite low for Express Entry ( Pls share other means to enhance it)
I really want to relocate to Canada through study program as this seems much available.

Please advise on the funded M.Sc or Phd programme that fits my qualification and work experience.
I will appreciate if you can also share university links for this.

Thank you to all Nairalanders
