AutosRe: Pre-Order your car from the U.S by Farm1: 7:59pm On Sep 21, 2012
Just wondering why your clearing cost is always N250k irrespective of the type, age and size of car
AutosRe: Pre-Order your car from the U.S by Farm1: 8:40pm On Sep 11, 2012
Zeal77: Farm+, to better assist you, i need you to be more specific. When you mean Toyota Siena - XLE or LE or Limited 2006 - 2010, do you mean, 06/07/08/09/10?. This is going to take me a while, and you also need Nissan Pathfinder - LE V6 option 2007 - 2010, 07/08/09/10. Give me two days to look around.

I will appreciate it if you can still look around like ekkywolex did. You might just find better deals than i will.
Zeal77,

What I actual mean is that:
- I need two vehicles. A Toyota Sienna for my wife and a Nissan Highlander for me.
- For the Sienna, I need an LE or an XLE edition that is manufactured btw 2006 to 2010
- For the Pathfinder, I will prefer an LE V6 edition that is manufactured btw 2007 and 2010

Again, I noticed some of my colleagues buy minor accidented (salvage) vehicle, fix it in US and import it into the country. Will u advice that option? What are the disadvantage?
AutosRe: Pre-Order your car from the U.S by Farm1: 10:21pm On Sep 10, 2012
Zeal77,

Please can you get me a very clean and full option of the following vehicles:

1. Toyota Siena - XLE or LE or Limited 2006 - 2010
2. Nissan Pathfinder - LE V6 option 2007 - 2010

I want to know the total cost to get it to Lagos

segcy,

Hello. Good and professional work. I am sure I have found the builder of my next house in you.

Observation: How do u intend to ventilate the toilets?
PropertiesRe: CONSTRUCTION PROCESS OF TERRACE BUILDING &BLOCK OF FLAT AT LEKKI by Farm1: 8:52pm On Aug 28, 2012
Wao, this is great! At first I thought the rooms where too small but a second look shows that apart from the guest room and the sitting room, the other rooms are standard.

A 4 bedroom duplex on 7m by 13m. Now I am convinced that a 4 x 4bedroom duplex can fit into a plot of land.

Good speed and success in this project
PropertiesRe: Affordable low cost housing Option For Lagosians by Farm1: 8:03pm On Aug 27, 2012
swiftycool: Thanks for your question. In reply, these blocks bear similarity to the hydraform models in terms of material content and compressive strength however they are not made using the popular hydraform machine.
1. The blocks are compressed and moulded using a manual mechanical press which can also be mechanised. Ours are made using the Cinva-Ram machine presently manufactured in various but few countries including Nigeria where it is built by a brilliant india-trained specialized mechanical Engineer

2. we have various options of brick types which include both the motar binded-flat-faced bricks as well as the grooved interlocking brick type. Which is exactly shaped like the hydraform ones. The buildings in picture-post no.10 above utilized the interlocking brick types needing no mortar, while the building in post no.12 above utilised the mortar binded bricks which requires mortar.

3. Electrical conduiting is possible by chiseling out cuduit grooves for cable-pipes on the brick surfaces manually by a careful workman just like its done on non hollowed sandcrete brick types and sealed back with mortar. This is also possible for water supply and waste water pipes if done by a well skilled workman.
Thanks for the detailed explanation.

How much is the manual press with the interlocking brick mould? How many bricks can the mould make per day?

I am really interested.

Are these laterite block the interlocking type that Hydraform is advertising?
What type of machine is used in producing these bricks/blocks
If they are not interlocking, how do u joint the blocks together? Do u still require mortal?
How do u handle conduit fittings?

aasog1: Good thread, but this isnt something you should encourage. What you have currently built here will definitely have some problems
The house is extremely flawed in a lot of ways....

1. You didnt post the plan of your structure....for everything called REAL construction, there has to be plan.
2. The foundation is about 2 feet high (which would give you loads of mess in future after roads has been graded and you have more houses around you). When you have heavy flooding in the future, Mr. you will be picking out all the snakes and frogs washed into your sitting room.
3. I can count the pillars. For chrissake, please indicate what engineering school you went! because if a strong wind hits your structure, those horrible blocks they sell all around will splinter) you need pillars, its your house not a chicken coops that must be managed. And with all that load your putting ontop of your house (lintel, woods, including the roof, your putting so much weight on such a fragile structure. Abeg!)
3. No clear planning....you didnt set out a fence (be it just through 2 or 3 coaches of blocks), and im not even sure if there is plans for parking lot, garden, etc....you are just building
4. This appears to be the type of defective project you see strewn all over ikorodu. Eventually, in 4 years time, you'd have a lot of spending to do on this structure....I guarantee you.

Anyways, you opened a great blog for those willing to spend 1million naira on a property. You should rename it, how to build your house Ijebu-style.
Apologies to my ijebu bros. Totally one of ya!
@aasog, At first I was going to wait for spyder to respond before I add my quota.

First, how did u become an engineer? I have gone thru your profile and can deduce that
- you graduated from Yabatech in 2005 that disqualifies your claim of being an Engineer. At best you are a technologist. So stop impersonating
- you failed in all the businesses you attempted after graduation (sold phones n computers at computer village, dabble into poultry etc) before joining your dad construction company. This implies, you joined the construction industry because you couldn't succeed in other areas not because you have the requisite qualification or passion
- show us your own post where u posted the structural plan. And when as it becomes a necessity to submit the full details of a building before blogging about it
- if only u had the requisite knowledge, you would have realized that where the subsoil is very competent, your block work could be used as load bearing walls
- your claim that the foundation height is too short tells me that the only place where u have seen or work in a construction site must have been in lekki or Ajax
PropertiesRe: In Need Of Property In Ajao Estate, Mafoluku Environ by Farm1(op): 3:22pm On Sep 26, 2011
My prefered location is still Ajao Estate neighbourhood with budget as follows:

- A full plot of land in Ajao Estate, Mafoluku, Ire-Akari Estate or surrounding areas - less than N10m or

- An old building on a full plot that I can renovate (prefarably a single storey building) - less than 15M

As a second option, the following locations will also be considered:

- Oshodi (Full plot for around N8M or old building on a full plot for less than N15M
- Ketu/Alapere (Full plot for around N5M or old building on a full plot for less than N12M
- Ogudu Ori oke (Full plot for around N5M or old building on a full plot for less than N12M)
- Isheri North/Arepo axis - Full plot for around N3M

I have serious phobia for traffic holdup and hence wont want to stay in a place where I will constantly be in holdup.

If you do have other locations on the mainland that are not prone to traffic you can drop your number as well and I will give you a call.

@tedanne,

The car has a factory fitted AC, no major dents except for some few scratches (typical of almost all cars in Lagos)
The interior is good, the engine is still good although very dirty (I was going to steam wash it but my mechanic adviced otherwise)

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Censored Picture Of Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey's Leg Break Against Stoke City by Farm1: 2:46pm On Mar 02, 2010
A thorough look on one of the pictures posted above suggests that Aaron's leg was already broken before he collided with Shawcross.

The tackle was a 50/50 - if Aaron's leg wasnt broken, I'm sure the referee wont have awarded any card. I feel for both of them - Aaron for the pains of a broken leg and Shawcross for the emotional trauma he is facing (even though it seems it wasnt actually responsible)
