@drogba, phone will not browse with APN set to blank. i could browse wap.sonyericsson.com only,other site restricted totally. any solution pls?

you have to press 'Done' to commit all changes to the phone memory. Gud luck.

@ekoja and others using moto L6 & L7, use/key in the following manually as outlined here. I have been using it on my L7 and it works. Good Luck.

From the main menu, go to Menu and select Web Access > Web Sessions > [New Entry]
Under Entry Details, select Change and enter the following fields accordingly:
• Name – MTN GPRS
• Homepage – http://wap.yahoo.co.uk
• Port 1 – 9201
• Domain 1 – skip
• Service Type 2 – select WAP
• Gateway IP 2 – skip
• Port 2 – 9201
• Domain 2 – skip
• DNS 1 – remain as default (000.000.000.000)
• DNS 2 – remain as default (000.000.000.000)
• Timeout – select 10 minutes
• CSD No. 1 – skip
• User Name 1 – skip
• Password 1 – skip
• Speed (Bps) 1 – select 9600
• Line Type 1 – select modem
• CSD No. 2 – skip
• User Name 2 – skip
• Password 2 – skip
• Speed (Bps) 1 – select 9600
• Line Type 1 – select mode
• GPRS APN – web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
• User Name – web
• Password – web

feelgood, all i want 2 say is that you are extremely good for us here, pls stay, dont go anywhere. i want to suggest that we get a standard forum in here depicting MTEL, where feelgood presides as chairman/moderator. others, what do u say?

i dont know what happened, i dont have gprs logo on my handset any more in Kano. is the gprs still up and running or is it possible that I have been disconnected? pls, any 1 with info should reply.

The Mtel GPRS is not for the public yet because its yet to be launched. The few people who can browse now are lucky because they either have friends or friends' friends. 'Man know man' is the name of the game there.

you've said it all, the system is in beta state and always make friends, not foes

@jobman, i give u 1 week plus just 2 justify 100% nigeria mentality. i pray it reduces to 20% so that we can all enjoy good services everywhere.
well, without any doubt, i have @feelgood to thank immensely for my activated lines. he has ''solid contacts'' i tell u. kudos to all.

@jobman, thanks for that informative piece. in my area we have full signal but no gprs icon, at other locations of the town there is gprs icon and I can even browse. please tell them to come and remove the 100% nigeria issue by activating the BTS nearest to badawa layout, nasarawa quarters, kano for gprs. we will be glad you did.

@feelgood, i really cant thank u enough. my lines are working wherever the signal is strong.may u live long and never fall or trip. you are abundantly blessed, just claim them all. did i hear you say apn.mtel1.ng also works?

do i need to activate gprs on my sim card in order to have my motorola L7 display gprs icon? i am at a loss.

@hayprof, i have 2. u can have 1 from me if u live in kano. got 1 and 1 for my wife 3 yrs ago & put them aside 4 a long time due 2 poor coverage. pm me if u want.

you guys who browse must be lucky to have gprs-activated SIM by God-knows-what method. if all SIMs can be activated easily, I think mtel will not be a dying company by now, at least that would have made them more popular in a way. u may call 170 and ask their customer care to activate ur line, they will tell u to go to their nearest centre, buy a package containing another SIM card and other connectivities for =N=21,000.00. for heaven sake, just because of free gprs? let's see hoe they end up

@cushman, i am in kano and can neither see the gprs logo nor browse using that setting on my moto L7, pls can u help

mtel gprs is not available everywhere and is only available for a post paid subs, got dis from their user support.

do u know that with a gmail account you can have google talk application installed on ur computer and talk free PC-PC? I have been talking to other gmail/gtalk user free for close to 4 months now. give it a try.

IMO if u love this man go ahead and marry him. it is african to marry more than one wife, lets not deceive ourself.it bothers me when we say to a bubbling young girl ''dont be a second,third and so on'' and this same girl is growing into 35 years old unmarried. look around, we now have lots of grown up ladies without a man of their own.lets have a rethink. most men who marry a wife still goes out 'married' to many concubines. why not bring them home? they usually comes home when the man is pronouced dead and katakata now sets in. a certain family is blessed with female children and are adviced not to marry a married man, a least few of them become unmarried into menopause. the question is this, is it ungodly to marry 2 wives or is it godly to have a wife and many ladies outside? ponder over this.
