Politics / 2 Girls Return To Jigawa After 2 Years In Boko Haram Captivy by fastnewsng2016: 12:53am On Oct 22, 2016
Two abducted indigenes of Jigawa state that spent about 2 years in Boko Haram captivity, Fatima 14 years old and Zainab 8 years old on Thursday escaped and returned back home.

Speaking to newsmen, the Jigawa state commissioner for women affairs Hajiya Ladi Ibrahim confirmed that the rescued girls were brought by the Yobe state emergency Management Agency hand handed over to the Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

The Women affairs commissioner said the two minors were kidnapped when they were 12 and 6 on their way to Borno state.

Her words “the rescued girls who were from Gofai in Lime ward of Dutse local government have been abducted in Maiduguri two years ago were taken to a hideout in Sambisa forest”.

She said, the girls have been taken to the hospital for medical treatment before taking them back to their family.

According to the rescue officer from Yobe state Emergency management agency Mallam Musa Yunusa who handed over the girls to the sister agency in Dutse, the girls were brought to the agency by soldiers after their rescue from their captives in Damaturu this month.

Abdulmumin Jibrin, a former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, has filed a fresh suit against the leadership of the House.

Mr. Jibrin filed the suit at the Federal High Abuja on Friday shortly after he withdrew the one of August 9 challenging plans to stop his suspension.

The former chairman of appropriation committee is seeking N1 billion as damages for his suspension.

He had made damning allegations against the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, his Deputy, Yussuf Lasun; Chief Whip, Ado Doguwa; Minority Leader, Leo Ogor; and nine other members, accusing them of padding the 2016 budget.

Jibrin, in the fresh suit, urged the court to declare his suspension as a violation of his fundamental human right to freedom of expression.

He prayed the court to declare that the resolution passed by the House of Representatives suspending him was in breach of Section 68 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.

He asked the court to restrain the House of Representatives from preventing him from participating in the committees of the House or accessing the legislative chambers to perform his legislative duties.

Justice John Tsoho has fixed November 22 for hearing of the suit.

Earlier, Mr. Tosho had struck out a suit filed by Mr. Jibrin, challenging his suspension from the House after his counsel Chukuma Nwachukwu asked for discontinuance.

In the withdrawn suit, Mr. Jibrin had attempted to stop the alleged plan by Messrs. Dogara, Lasun and other principal officers to suspend him.

Politics / BREAKING NEWS: Fayose Works For Ad's Olusola Oke, Abandons Jegede In Ondo Poll by fastnewsng2016: 5:46pm On Oct 21, 2016
Governor Ayodele Fayose has begun deft moves to abandon his own party, PDP, and its candidate, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede, to help the Alliance for Democracy candidate, Olusola Oke, win the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State.

Jegede's is Mimiko's acolyte and a perceived surrogate that Mimiko hopes to use to sustain his control of Ondo PDP and to a larger extent the South West politics, a political calculation that has set Fayose and Mimiko against each other in the South West PDP leadership ranks.

Reliable sources disclosed to Fast News that Fayose's alleged romance with AD is not unconnected with the latest schism within the APC in what looks like a development that will create a new realignment with the leadership of the Alliance for Democracy, culminating in Bola Ilori's defection from APC to AD and his subsequent choice as Oke's head of campaign organisation.

The development, political watchers say, bears the imprint of a nod by Ilori's political godfather, Rauf Aregbesola, who recently visited Fayose in Ado-Ekiti to hint on a realignment of forces that would come "sooner than later".

Aregbe himself left no one in doubt of his relationship with Fayose when he made a public declaration that Fayose is "omoluabi" and that "sooner than later" political realignment would begin, ostensibly to accommodate Fayose.

It will be recalled that Aregbe has a long history of relationship with Fayose, with cynics alleging that Aregbe helped to fund Fayose's election. Fayose himself admitted that much in his Punch interview at the weekend that he had many things in common with Aregbe, including history of long relationship.

Since relationship snapped within the APC leadership ranks in Ekiti State, observers are of the opinion that Aregbe has pandered more to Fayose than APC leadership in Ekiti State, which accounted for Ekiti APC's recent criticism of Aregbe for visiting Fayose without putting it on notice.

Sources said Fayose's move cannot be divorced from the latest rapprochement between him and Aregbe to lay foundation for the realignment envisaged pre-2018 politics, explaining that Fayose is trying to make a point by starting early to identify with the coalition that is being envisaged with the realignment.

A source however said: "Fayose believes that Bola Ilori will not move to AD without Aregbe's blessing. Aregbe will not on the other hand contemplate any political move without getting the nod of Bourdillon. So Fayose is moving fast to make himself relevant in the South West politics by working for AD while abandoning his own party.

"Fayose is aware that PDP is finished in the South West with a slim chance to survive at the national level.

"Mimiko's problem with Fayose is further compounded by the no love lost relationship between him and Mimiko over PDP leadership in the South West.

"Fayose has not forgiven Mimiko for his successful lobby to take charge of President Goodluck Jonathan's second term campaign in the South West after Fayose's failed bid to be at the top of the South West campaign team to enable him keep Jonathan's campaign funds in his charge. And with PDP's fortunes plummeting in the South West, Fayose is trying to use the present hiccups within APC to quickly fix into a scheme he is confident to feel safe because of his relationship with Aregbe."

It was also learnt that Fayose's intervention in Ondo election has a twin objectives of undoing Mimiko in the South West politics and at the same time using it to support any move that can help dismantle APC and to a larger extent bring APC government down at the Federal level.

Another source explained: "Fayose is not new to fighting his own party when the mantle of leadership is not in his grip. He did it in 2009 to support Fayemi against his own party during rerun.

"You can see that he quickly dumped Ali Modu Sheriff when it became clear to him that he would find it difficult to realise his ambition working with Sheriff.

"Fayose has already deployed his foot soldiers in Ondo State to mobilise support for Oke.

His strategy is to infiltrate the ranks of his supporters and other Ekiti people living in Akure and then expand his campaign strategy to mobilise other segments of the society across the state.

"But Fayose is not doing this for free; he is eyeing some goodies from Oke and his backers, just like he did in 2009 for ACN during election rerun in Ekiti State during which he made fortunes.

"He already erroneously believes that Tinubu is aggrieved and ready to do battle with APC and so he is positioning himself for the election windfall from Bourdillon.

"In fact, you can see the way he has been supporting Tinubu of recent, saying he would do anything to criticise any attempt to pull Tinubu down politically as Yoruba leader, yet this is same Tinubu against whom Fayose sponsored a smear campaign of calumny in a documentary during the last presidential election to ruin his political career and was running that documentary on Ekiti television everyday two time even after Tinubu got the courts and NBC's nod to stop broadcasting the documentary. Can you see Fayose's hypocrisy and opportunism?

"But with reports suggesting that Tinubu is not willing to destroy the party (APC) he helped to build, don't be surprised if Fayose withdraws from Oke, not because he wants Mimiko's candidate to win, but that the money he expects will no longer be available.

"Fayose's anti-Mimiko sentiment is still real. If he can't use Oke to have his pound of flesh from Mimiko, his current mood suggests he will still do anything to undo Mimiko to enable him have a firm grip on PDP in the South West as the only surviving PDP governor after he would have worked against his own party to send Mimiko out of reckoning.

Foreign Affairs / Trump, Clinton Traded Words At Final Presidential Debate In Las Vegas by fastnewsng2016: 5:39am On Oct 20, 2016
Donald Trump has used the high-profile setting of the final presidential debate on Wednesday night to amplify one of the most explosive charges of his candidacy: that if he loses the election, he might consider the outcome illegitimate because the process is rigged.

Questioned directly as to whether he would accept the outcome should Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton prevail on Nov. 8, Trump demurred. “I will keep you in suspense,” the Republican nominee said. Clinton called Trump’s answer “horrifying,” saying he was “talking down our democracy.”

After a sober start, the candidates shifted gears into a series of fiery exchanges over their fitness to serve as president and character traits. But over the course of the third and final debate, they delved deeper into their substantive differences than they did in the first two forums and offered a clearer contrast in the directions they would take the country. They drew sharp distinctions on the economy, trade, terrorism, immigration and hot-button social issues including abortion and guns.

Russian President Vladimir Putin loomed as an unseen third presence on the stage. Clinton and Trump sparred over which of them would be more effective as commander-in-chief in dealing with his aggression and Russian cyber attacks. Clinton labeled Trump as Putin’s “puppet” — prompting Trump to snap back, “You’re the puppet!” — while Trump charged that Putin had “outsmarted and outplayed” her when she was secretary of state.

After Clinton cited the findings of 17 U.S. intelligence agencies that the Russian government had committed espionage — including by hacking the emails of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta — to interfere in the U.S. election, Trump said he did not agree with that conclusion.

“Hillary, you have no idea,” Trump said. “Our country has no idea.”

Clinton and Trump clashed intensely about each other’s character deficiencies in an urgent move to persuade undecided voters just 20 days before Election Day and as people in many states already have begun casting ballots already.

Though Trump was clearly trying to present himself in a more presidential light than at the previous two debates, at times he could not contain his impulses to jab and insult.

As Clinton was needling Trump for not paying taxes, Trump interjected: “Such a nasty woman.”

The animus between the two had reached such a critical mass that the candidates dispensed with the traditional gesture of shaking hands, before and after the debate.

Politics / Tinubu Remains True To The APC Vision And The Nigerian Project by fastnewsng2016: 9:58am On Oct 13, 2016
The SUN Newspaper has taken a sad excursion from journalism into the realm of gothic tales and political slander. That sheet has turned itself into a harbor of perjury and malice in telling tales by moonlight. In venturing to publish the recent story that Asiwaju Tinubu has conspired with Senator Saraki to thwart the Buhari administration, the SUN Newspaper has descended to the lowest and darkest rungs of journalism ethics.

The stench of the piece and motives behind it are too noxious to ignore.

Those who midwifed this garish tale give birth not to truth but to lies intended to kill APC unity and to retard the Buhari administration’s strategic reform initiatives, as earlier outlined by our party manifesto.
Given the potential for change that stands before us, we are now beginning to see the true nature of many people. There are those who truly want positive change so that we can break from the ways of a stolid past. Then there are those who speak of change with their mouths but never believe in it in their hearts.
They came along with us for the ride or because no other political option availed itself at the operative time. Now given the chance to redeem themselves from their past political actions, they would rather return to the political morass from whence they came.

The idea of an alleged conspiracy between Tinubu and Saraki against the President is an execrable lie. Without any proof except the veil of innuendo and some hatemongers masquerading as presidency sources, the story proclaims that the government is surveilling Asiwaju Tinubu because of his purported unhappiness about the ministerial list.

Too mischievous yet cowardly for their own good, the yarn-spinners at the SUN neglect to precisely state what terrible thing they believe Tinubu to have done.

This ambiguity is in part purposeful; their villainy seeks to place the innocent on edge and to cause those who must work together if the nation is to progress to begin to doubt the bona fides of each other.
With such a story, they hope to break the walls of confidence so that they may kindle mutual animus between the President and Tinubu. By getting the two to fight and weaken each other, they may then swoop down to destroy both.

If this nation is to have more than a fleeting chance of escaping the quagmire into which years of PDP misrule have taken us, we cannot allow these regressive elements to deploy their cunning tricks to divide and pit progressive against progressive.

Here, I will do those who inhabit the shadows of untruth a favor. I will state explicitly what they hoped to get the reader to infer. Their claim is that Tinubu has joined with Saraki to scuttle the President’s ministerial nominations. They have misfired.

Their wrong is a great wrong. Like the rest of us, Asiwaju Tinubu waited for the President to select his cabinet. The majority of the selections have been made. There is nothing to do but congratulate the appointees and pray for them. Their responsibilities are vast, the future of the nation now rests on their shoulders.

The challenges before them are manifold and daunting. Those who want the best for Nigeria can only hope that these people succeed. The only intervention that Asiwaju Tinubu would make is one of encouragement.
He would charge them to remain true to the progressive vision of the party and our President. None should allow themselves to be enticed to join league with those who would cast us back into the old mould of PDP governance: to Pilfer, Destroy and Pillage. Instead they should cohere faithfully to the enlightened programs and promises made by our party and this government.

Other than voice this encouragement, Bola Tinubu will never say a negative word or lift a finger to forestall anyone’s approval before the Senate.

Politics / #changebeginswithme: FG Says It Is Leading By Example by fastnewsng2016: 2:30am On Oct 07, 2016
The Federal Government says it is already leading by example in its #ChangeBeginsWithMe campaign.

At the presentation of the campaign to a section of the private sector in Lagos on Thursday, the government said that the attitudinal change from leaders was to cut down government overheads.

The Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said that the move to sell off two aircraft from the presidential fleet was in line with the ‘Change’ mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

He added that the campaign would last for the entire tenure of the present government.

“I think the first thing Mr President did was to set up a committee to look into disposal of these aircraft.

“You have to know which of them are outright purchase, which of them are on lease (and if there is) any arm of government that is going to need them.

“I am happy to report today that already, arrangements have gone far to sell two of these aircraft while some of them will also be given to the Air Force,” he said.

The Minister, however, believed that the campaign which was initially launched in Abuja, could only work if both the public and private sectors were well engaged.

Allegation Of Plagiarism

He also used the medium to clear the air about allegation of plagiarism of the #ChangeBeginsWithMe idea.

Mr Mohammed said that he was willing to prove his innocence, vowing that the matter would be settled in court.

“Mr Akin Fadeyi, even by his own admission, came to meet me on the 30th of December, 2015 after I became minister.

“How can you accuse me of stealing an idea which was finished by October when you came to me in December?

“But myself, himself (Fadeyi) and Afe Babalola will meet in court,” he said.

Wrongful Insertion

There were also allegations of wrongful insertion of words credited to US President, Barrack Obama, in the speech delivered by President Buhari on September 8, 2016, at the launch of the campaign.

After the launch of the campaign, a columnist on THISDAY newspaper, Adeola Akinremi, said that the speech violated plagiarism laws and pointed out that the President lifted Obama’s 2008 victory speech and passed it off as if the words were his own.

President Buhari immediately ordered that prompt and appropriate disciplinary action be taken against those responsible for the act.

At the launch of #ChangeBeginsWithMe, President Buhari had said that the campaign was to sustain the effort his administration has made in the fight against corruption.

He described the programme as a determination of his administration to carry all Nigerians along on the journey to a better and greater society that everybody can be proud of.

The President decried the alleged erosion of the long cherished and time honoured, time tested virtues of honesty, integrity, hard work, good neighborliness, abhorrence of corruption and patriotism.

Politics / Suicide Bomber Averted In Gwoza by fastnewsng2016: 1:42am On Oct 07, 2016
Three female suicide bombers attempting to attack a military location at Gwoza area of Borno State were on Thursday, prevented by the Nigerian troops from perpetrating their ungodly act.

The suicide bombers who came through Pulka axis were sighted by some members of a vigilante group from a distance, and alerted the troops about the impending catastrophe.

The very observant vigilantes also noted that the women looked suspicious; walking awkwardly with bulging hijab and distinct from other female farmers.

According to Col. SK Usman, he said “the suicide bombers noticed that they were being observed, they then hurriedly ran towards the troops aiming to detonate it on them.

The troops neutralized 2 of the female suicide bombers, while the other ran back into the bush but was pursued.”

Unfortunately “a soldier sustained injuries due to the impact of the explosion. The wounded soldier is currently receiving treatment at a military medical centre and he is in stable condition.” Col. Usman said

Crime / EFCC Arrests Nwokike Over N4bn Fraud by fastnewsng2016: 1:01am On Oct 07, 2016
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, arrested Chief. Patrick Shanchi Nwokike, the Managing Director of “Lets Partner With You Ltd” at his residence in Enugu.

The arrest was made following the series of over a hundred petitions from across the country on the nefarious activities of an alleged Wonder bank.

Petitions from Nigerians across religious, gender, ethnic, economic and social strata indicate that the company had over the past five years solicited and obtained deposits of more than N4 billion from the general public with promise of mouth watering interest in return.

According to investigations conducted by the anti-graft agency, the company has no license to solicit and manage funds for the public nor was it registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

Further investigations revealed that the company had, for some time, paid a ten percent interest on invested capital but suddenly stopped and all efforts by depositors to have at least their initial investments returned were futile.

Many of the complainants alleged that the operators of the scheme especially, Chief Nwokike not only live very flamboyant lifestyles but acquired several personal assets as well as using their deposits for philanthropic enterprise.

The company was found to have over six accounts in about four banks with the chief executive of “Lets Partner With You Ltd” and his wife being the only signatories to the accounts.

In his statement, Nwokike acknowledged that depositor’s funds with his company was about N4 billion, but denied operating both money lending and investment business as alleged by the petitioners.

He stated that his company was into partnership business, which receives money from interested partners who desire interest over a period of time.

Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, the media and publicity personnel of the EFCC, however stated that investigation into the alleged fraud continues.

Politics / Massive Corruption Reponsible For Boko Haram Ravage, Osinbajo Claims by fastnewsng2016: 10:44pm On Oct 06, 2016
Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, says massive corruption that existed in the Armed Forces over the years is the major reason the Boko Haram insurgents ravaged the northeast with ease over the years.

The Vice President made the observation on Thursday at the convocation ceremony for cadets of 63 Regular Course and Postgraduate students of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), in Kaduna state.

He noted that Boko Haram terrorists gained more grounds in the region over a long period due to the failure of the previous administration to provide the needed equipment, supplies and welfare for the fighting troops in theatre of operations.

Professor Osinbajo explained that the successes recorded by the Nigerian military against Boko Haram insurgents is as a result of the present administration’s determination to rid the military institutions of corruption.

He, however, applauded the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) for maintaining standards in their task of producing officers for the nation’s Armed Forces.

He added that the successful training of cadets over the years is a clear manifestation of hard work and dedication, and also justifies the wisdom and dreams of the founding fathers in establishing the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1964.

On the current economic hardship in the country, the Vice President again attributed the situation to corruption, lack of savings by former administrations and attack on oil installations in the Niger Delta.

He then reeled out some of the federal government’s palliative measures to cushion the effect on the citizens.

During the ceremony, awards were also presented to some best graduating students.

Three prominent Nigerians, which include the first woman vice chancellor in Nigeria, Professor Grace Allele Williams, Chairman of Innosson Motors, Mr Innocent Chukwuma also received awards of honorary degrees for distinguishing themselves in their fields of endeavour.

Speaking to reporters outside the hall, one of the award recipients, Professor Grace Allele Williams, urged the federal government to pay more attention to research and innovation, in order to improve the nation’s technological advancement.

The convocation ceremony attracted the presence of all the service chiefs, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state and relations of graduating cadets.

It was the first time the convocation held separately from the passing out parade.

Politics / Book Launch: African Leaders, Obasanjo, Gowon, Tinubu Honour Buhari by fastnewsng2016: 7:47am On Oct 04, 2016
Three African leaders, Mr. Idris Debby of the Republic of Chad; Mr. Patrice Talon of Benin Republic; and Muhammadu Yusuf of Niger Republic, on Monday joined top government officials, former Nigerian leaders, state governors, captains of industry and traditional rulers to honour President Muhammadu Buhari.

The men and women from all walks of life gathered for the public presentation of a book, “Muhammadu Buhari: The Challenges of Leadership in Nigeria,” written by Prof. John Paden.

The Presidents of Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon were represented by their country’s ambassadors in Nigeria at the event held inside the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

A former military leader, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd.); former President Olusegun Obasanjo; former Vice-President Namadi Sambo; Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; and the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, attended the event.

Organisers said proceeds from the book would be sent to the Internally Displaced Persons’ camps nationwide.

Donations were not made public but guests were encouraged to buy as many copies of the book as possible at the rate of N1,500 per copy of paperback edition; N2,500 per copy of hardcover and N10,000 per copy of leather edition.

The two presenters of the book, Mr. Tunde Folawiyo and Alhaji Abdusamad Rabiu, promised to donate two copies each to every tertiary institution in Nigeria.

Obasanjo, who was the special guest of honour at the event, described the 320-page book as a mixture of history and current affairs, saying the author’s account was accurate except for a few “incorrect insinuations” which he said could be understood.

Politics / Release El-zakzaky Now Or We Storm Abuja, Shiites Threaten by fastnewsng2016: 5:34am On Oct 04, 2016
Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, otherwise known as Shiites, said on Monday that they would march on Abuja to protest the continued detention of their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, in the Department of State Service.

They noted that following the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum given by the sect to the Federal Government within which to release El-Zakzaky, Shiites in millions would occupy the federal capital until their leader was released.

The group spoke under the aegis of ‘Save Zakzaky’s Life Group of Nigeria,’led by its National Coordinator, Bashir Marafa.

The group asserted that as Nigerians, “We have the right to show our grievances and concerns in peaceful manner.

“The police, soldiers and all other security agencies should take note. They should never harass, or intimidate us. Our slogan is free Zakzaky. Our mission in Abuja is to seek the release of our leader, Shaik Ibrahim Zakzaky. Nothing, but that.”

It can be recalled that members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), otherwise called, the Shi’ites, on Thursday, September 22, 2016 marched across major streets of Abuja, the Federal Capital territory, seeking the release of their leader, El-Zakzaky.

Mr. El-Zakzaky has been in detention since December last year after soldiers killed and secretly buried over 300 members of the Shiite group in a massacre that has been condemned by local and international rights groups.

Politics / Reactions Trail Aregbesola's Visit To Fayose In APC by fastnewsng2016: 3:30am On Oct 04, 2016
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has raised a storm of protest over Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s visit to Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, in Ado Ekiti, during the weekend.

Governor Aregbesola visited Ado Ekiti on Saturday for the 20th Anniversary of Ekiti State where he delivered a lecture entitled, “The imperative of unity.”

At the event, Aregbesola complained and pointed out that the biting economic problem was such that in the whole of the South-West region, only Lagos State could stand on its own.

He went further to canvassed regional integration and cooperation as well as the revival of agriculture as some of the steps to ameliorate the situation.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) had however argued that the visit to Ekiti was a slight on the party and contempt for the party’s leadership in the state.

The APC also expressed worry that Aregbesola at the event described Fayose as omoluabi and a hardworking governor who had turned around the fortunes of Ekiti State in terms of infrastructure.

It also cited social media reports which quoted Aregbesola as saying that “Fayose is a reliable person” and that in spite of political differences, he and Fayose shared many things in common, and that “sooner than later, there will be realignment of forces.”

In a statement on Monday, the Ekiti State Publicity Secretary of APC, Taiwo Olatunbosun stressed that the visit showed contempt into which the party and its leaders were held by the Osun State governor after Fayose had caused severe pains in the lives of their members, some of whom had been languishing in jail for about two years for the offences they did not commit.

Taiwo said, “Aregbesola’s visit to Fayose, praising him as ‘omoluabi’ and for the achievements by APC-led government is not alone embarrassing but also awful and shocking in the face of sustained attacks on APC members, some of whom are still languishing in jail for about two years over trumped-up charges by Fayose.

“It is shocking that Aregbesola as a governor and one of the leading lights in the APC in the South West and indeed the nation would be visiting Ekiti State without putting the leaders into confidence, more so on a visit to a man who once wished the President dead and had done unbelievable things both in Nigeria and abroad to bring Buhari’s government down.

“Worse still, Aregbesola was praising the man who will stop at nothing to bring APC-led Federal Government down after several years of failed attempts by the progressives to win the presidency of Nigeria.”

Olatunbosun also frowned on alleged misappropriation of APC’s authority with the Osun governor promising realignments of forces with Fayose “sooner than later”, saying such “unbridled” trading off of the APC in Ekiti State to Fayose would never stand in the face of the governor’s molestation of the APC members over the years.

“We find it most embarrassing and shocking that one of our leaders would be planning a re-alignment of forces with a governor that has made life a nightmare for our members, the same members that will participate in the said re-alignment that Aregbesola is talking about, without sparing a thought for members held in jail unjustly while other APC members are routinely attacked by Fayose’s men on the streets.

“We also find it spiteful that Aregbesola would sit with Fayose on this same programme where the latter berated Buhari to no end, including describing the President’s programmes as a theory that is compounding problems for Nigerians,” he said.

Warning that the state leaders would resist any attempt to draft the governor into any realignment with APC in the state and foist him on the party, Olatunbosun noted that Fayose had done enough damage to the integrity of Ekiti people.

He added that the time had come now for the real omoluabi in Ekiti to join forces to rebuild the ruins into which Fayose’s administration had left the state.

Politics / Gbagaun!!! US Drones To Bomb Northern Nigeria by fastnewsng2016: 9:01am On Oct 02, 2016
There are strong indications that the United States government may launch attacks against Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East, as a drone base being constructed in the Niger Republic would soon be completed.

According to reports, the American drone base is under construction in Agadez, a town in Niger.

The facility is expected to offer US military, greater ability to use drones against Islamist extremists in countries like Libya, Mali and Nigeria.

But some security experts told our correspondent that such drone attacks against insurgents in the North might kill innocent people.

The project, considered to be the United State’s most important military construction effort in Africa, according to secret files obtained by an online medium, The Intercept, will gulp $100m.

The construction of the base is an indication that the US is paying more attention to terrorist groups in Nigeria and other countries on the African continent.
