I wish at times we can see eye ball to eye ball to correct ourselves physically,I can bet u ve not seen or meet with the new generation of the yoruba men,I swear,u will never say this“call us a coward"u can't say it in my presence. My guy incase u don't know their r some bitter minded and ruthless yorubas u ve not meet, personally I wish we go to war before parting with igbos,to correct them from their eternal mistake calling yorubas coward,I wish we can start from you and I, 1 on 1 no joke,u igbos think u r the most ruthless abi?I will not reply ur gabbage post, but like us to see in person and star from their. Am Akeem,a passionate and proud yoruba man, yes! Complete man(not just having a big dick).take my challenge and send ur reply to fatakeem@yahoo.com. Expect to hear from u. Omo Ale!
tonychristopher:

I doubt if you are a Yoruba ...your type is rare ..your people make us to know that they are scared to stand on their own..they made us to know that they are dependent on igbos that is why they are scared and they have validated that notion that yorubas are cowards ..I wonder why they are afraid of Igbo leaving right from awolowo days that said if Igbo leave Yoruba will leave

there is nothing dignifying in a tribe leaning on another ...maybe you should preach this to your people

if the yorubas are man enough they should allow Igbo to mind their own business . they keep instigation of hate and crisis

you spoke well

Your grandfather ojukwu(RIP)did worst, and we still condole you in the society.pls, let's learn to be real and appreciating. First, where is your farm located? this is because some vegetables are easily sold with good price in some areas of the south west.
Do you have water source on the farm?

Another thing is that vegetables are more profitable in the dry season than in the rainy season.
You can.have more than 100%ROI in dry season cultivating vegetables; about 40%ROI in rainy season.

Agriculture / Re: Youth In Agriculture, Are We Really Involved? by fatakeenexport(m): 8:49am On Jan 03, 2015
Tnx man,u r real!
jethro2:

Ugwu and ewedu i have planted before. Ewedu was on a commercial scale while ugu was a test running.
My ewedu did not do well despite the fact that i employ a rural farmer that has been successfully planting his own for years.
Factors to consider when planting
1. Type if soil in terms of water retaining capacity, fertility of the soil, pest and disease
2. Sloppiness of the land. You can irrigate a sloppy land successfully. The water will keep draining down instead of sinking in.
There are still a lot of uncontrollable factors that work together.
I am glad you say experiment plot. If you can afford, please plant the three vegetables, give them your best and then you can decide for yourself.
That's the best way to learn and become an expert. And subsequently you can decide on your best crop.
Farm experiences, results and expectation varies from plot to plot. Plot A might bring in 100kg while plot B might produce 2kg despite that they undergo the same treatment.
ROI is not the most important now but getting it right at first.
Agriculture / Re: Youth In Agriculture, Are We Really Involved? by fatakeenexport(m): 5:09am On Jan 03, 2015
Greetings, pls I need some piece of suggestions, never had I farm before ,I like to plant for experiment on a plot and half tow of these three vegetables ugwu, ewdu, and shoko.my question is. Which two of the three is least risky to manage and brings a better ROI with the shortest time framed
world1:
YOUTH HAVE GOT TO CLAIM THEIR SEAT AT THE TABLE

When it comes to youth and agriculture, most of us think we know what needs to be done: governments and other stakeholders need to develop innovative approaches and policies to get more youth involved in this critical sector.

It goes without saying that the stakeholders are expected to involve the youth in innovation and policy formulation. Not much is said about what the youth can do themselves to facilitate their involvement in these processes.

Africa is currently the most youthful continent in the world. It is estimated that by 2015, youth will make up 60 percent of the population on the continent.

We young people, who will soon be the drivers of the continent’s economy, need to know that we have a right to be involved in high-level policy dialogues on agriculture and begin actively seeking opportunities to participate.

What prompt me to write this article was not only to.absolve myself of false accusations made but to take to the advise from nairaland farmers and my followers to show the world what i showed them some hours ago.

I have taken my time to put all of the story of how the transactions started and pictures together for all nairalanders to see.

I want to thank nairaland farmers, clients and my follower for your solidarity calls, whatsapp messages and for those people that offers free legal service,i will surely vent my anger by pressing charges for defamation and damages.

I will like to introduce myself for those new on this agric section;

My name is Yusuff Gbenga.I have been in agricbusiness sector for over half a decade and since then i have been able to engage and help.numerous people successful through exposing them to recent happening, information, managerial services e.t.c

I have set-up over 100 farms this year and currently managing some of the farms.I have also manage both long-term crops such as cassava, plantain, short term crops (corn, watermelon, tomato) and it has been very profitable and successful.
I know if i am not been able to get results or i have done some dubious deals;

Two things would have happen.

Firstly, i would not have the credibility or the confidence to come here to keep posting on this forum

Secondly. I trust nairalanders,so many people would have come up to tell the whole world that i have dupe them and also when jethro raise that false accusations, many people would have use that opportunity to expose me but i am still yet to see stuff like that

I can challenge anyone on this forum to come forward if i have been dubious in my dealings with them.
Infact,i have been one of the very few practical farmers on this agric section that have shown people the mistakes to avoid in agribusiness, how i made mine and how to avoid making them.
I have been so authentic, simple, gives credible information.and straight to the point.

I.have never sweet talk to get people involve in.agribusiness,i say it real and show you with practical knowledge how to start your business on a profitable.note.
