My baby didn't really start eating solids till he was 9 months or so. Initially he would only take a small quantity of watery pap with Breast milk and Amala and ewedu with plenty singing sef. He hated cereals. He was EBF. I also noticed he preferred finger foods so I sometimes give him bits of food from my plate. Now he is almost 15 months and is feeding has improved. He even takes d cereal he refuses before. Just be patient and persistent. He will improve with time |

perfectcrown: Hello every1. Trust we r all good.
Ok,i noticed that my ds(25months)has not been eating well only for me to check his mouth and i saw a whitish spot with a red circle on his lower, inner lip and also running temp. So i started using warm water/salt with cotton wool to clean d place & giving him ibrupofen syrup. But there was no improvement at all bcus he refused eatng nor taking even water!
We took him to the hospoital on sun night cus d temp got so so high that even tepid-sponging did nada! He was given antibiotics, vit c & ibrupofen.
Yesterday,i noticed ders another white patch on his left tip of tongue, omg! I pity d boy o! He cnt evn take water without crying... He really wants to eat but the thot of d pains when food enters his mouth, makes him withdraw!
Just this afternoon,i saw a bigger patch with about 3tiny ones around it on d right edge of his tongue! God,wat is this ooo! He cant even close his mouth! He has lost so much weight from friday evening.
The antibiotics mks him poop alot but i have to continue giving him...
What could have caused the white patches. I learnt its an infection!
Is there anything else i can use to hasten the healing I'm so so so worried for him... Good evening ma'am. From ur description, it seems those patches are aphthous ulcers. They are nothing serious but are very painful and may be due to an underlying stress factor, infection or nutritional deficiency. U can get topical hydrocortisone for him and apply on d sores to relieve d pain. But dey usually resolve on their own. U can also suggest to ur doctor to carry out malaria test to rule out malaria. |
