FamilyRe: This Boy Had Been Abandoned By His Parents by FayaBall: 12:01pm On Mar 15, 2025
Villa12:
Hello Nairalanders

I noticed a student had measles all over his body. It was visible all over his hands and face. I approached him and he confirmed my suspicious. He hadn't received any medication so far. I notified the Head of School, then he informed the school principal and the boy was instructed to return home for proper treatment to prevent spreading the disease to other students. It's a public secondary school

As the boy walked away, i saw tears dropping down his face, i approached him and he shared his life story. He lives in an uncompleted house with his grandmother who is battling stroke. His biological mother a unisex fashion designer had him out of wedlock and has hated him since birth. She remarried and had 4 other sons. The grandmother called his mother concerning his illness and she warned her mother never to call her again concerning her son, even if he died. The boy is in SS1 science, very smart, brilliant and was instrumental in the success of our inter House sports competition. I told the HOS how can the school send this boy home without enquiry if he has the means for treatment. He claimed it's a public school and that is what they can do. I took him to a local herbal, the woman asked him to off his clothes, the measles had messed up his body. She gave him something to drink and then prepared the medication (bathing soap, the one he'd rob on his body and the one he'd drink twice daily) . She charged me #20,000 for everything. I gave the boy some little cash and reminded him to follow the prescription.

He returned to school after two weeks almost fully recovered. This boy biological mother had a brother, who's an uncle to him. The grandmother had two children, the boy biological mother and the uncle. He lives with his uncle alongside his grandmother. The uncle has been the one supporting the boy. The uncle died last year in a ghastly road accident leading to
the grandmother's stroke. This boy stopped going to school due to her health condition. When the workload was too much for the boy, their neighbour called the grandmother daughter to come carry her mother. She brought her to her house with the boy. He enrolled the boy in a government school after several plea from her mother while her other 4 sons attend private school. This woman do lock him outside on a several occasions leaving him with physical and emotional scans. One fateful day, the boy prepared dinner late (around 7pm) for the family and she descended on him mercilessly and sent him and her mother packing. That was what led them living in an uncompleted house. I observed he's fund of wearing collar clothes under his collar uniform and i tried to know the reason. He said his mother tore all his singlet while beating him. I got him 2 singlet which he has been wearing.

Surprisingly, I've heard about this boy and his grandmother before meeting him. This boy biological mother is a unisex fashion designer. My neighbour son is learning there. He usually relate how mean and inhumane his madam was to her son. The husband comes home every weekend and he do take his children and wife out while the boy will be home doing chores. The husband has no problem with the boy but his wife warned him to stay clear from her son. This my neighbour son said a lot about this boy and how his mother do maltreat him. The boy hasn't divulge all these to me and will be surprised how I got to know so much about him.

The boy told me the grandmother wants to see me. I shared it with a close friend of mine and he said what if the grandmother now sees me as her son? What if the grandmother wants me to be the boy's guardian? What if the grandmother probably wants me to help them thinking i have? I'm a PTA teacher earning below the national minimum wage. This boy has no family
members to run to. He doesn't know any family members apart from his grandmother, late uncle and biological mother. He claimed his biological father is late. What if the grandmother eventually passes away? What will be the fate of this little boy? I don't know if i should meet the grandmother or not.

What's your take please
Something has touched you to help this boy and I say follow it.

You should meet with the grandmother, she can not force you to do what you can not do.

Be firm and simply help in any little way you can.

Thank God the boy is in SS 1 and not a tender boy who can not help himself at all, the fact that he is brilliant is a plus.

With some guidance, he could find something he could do after school to help him out.

If you can also think of anything which he can do, you could point it out.

He just needs some guidance at this point in his life and I believe he would be grateful to you for that.

You guys should be the ones traveling out more often instead of the ones we see here that'd be giving us nightmares with their scary looking looks... grin grin grin... Hope they don't come for me...😂😂😂

But it's like your tribe is patriotic and would choose home over anything and I like it.

In fact, you should marry at least five wives and have five children with each of them, then encourage your children to marry from other tribes so that they can pass their genes to them... grin grin grin... Nigeria needs more of your genes...😂😂😂
Did I not say it? Polythiefgamy counsellor and inducer. If only men had sense smh.

True!

But of course you know nothing applies 💯% in this universe of ours. The remaining % is where I base my point.
The issue is not whether it applies 100 percent or not but that healthy competition is not associated with polygamy, which you have acknowledged as true.

I understand that.

Competition has its odds, but a healthy one brings out the best in both parties.
There is nothing like healthy competition in polygamy but rather fierce up to death and everything goes competition.

This is what I don't like about polygamy, competition amongst co-wives... I hate competition because I just want to have my peace.

If I do something, I want to do it because I want to, not because I'm trying to compete with someone else.
Any one who truly wants peace will not be in support of poly thief gamy but I know your game.

Antwan99:
True!

Children from polygamous homes within my sphere here are always likely well cared for in all aspects.

This is so because the wives compete among themselves to make the other wives jealous, by going extra miles to cloth, feed, train their various childrens in the best schools and sort.

It makes them hardworking, therefore leaving the husband in a chill-and-observe-spot.
Yet the same children who came from such homes will tell you their terrible terrible experience and how they don't wish same on their children.

One of the advantages of polygamy as a lady is that you won't have to worry about your husband cheating because you're already a community... Even if he sees other women, it wouldn't hurt because he wouldn't be cheating on you alone, especially if you're a third or fourth wife.

We shall console each other as sister wives while eating ice cream... grin grin grin
Is it not you women who pursue men and seduce them to come after you thereby ensuring poly thief gamy.

If men decide to stay away from women all of you will shrivel and die.

So of course you all are underground supporters of polygamy..

And then you stole the man mumu wey no get sense, so why won't you laugh at the hediot?

I am not surprised the children of ashawo, hookup and oloshos coming to defend their lifestyle. You claim to support monogamy but will be sleeping around with every dirty girl in your neighbourhood.

He has the right to his opinion no matter how stupid but he should be sensible not to attack others for their ways of life.

If only you had a shred of common sense in your brain, you would have realised that my point was on leaving others to live their lives without the standard of all your ashawo, hookup and olosho family members.

This is where the problem is. The tailor was given an opportunity to clear the issue since suspicion has fallen on him but instead he ran away, exactly what the guilty do, which increases suspicion from suspicion to almost complete certainty.

Everyone knows that.

But rather, everyone is attacking the op rather than calling on the tailor to clear the suspicion that has fallen on him.

And this is very wicked. Exactly like blaming a maid who has been whipped and burnt by her evil madam by asking her whether she is not the one who whipped and burnt herself.

It's only a devil who will do that
Ah, Ah, not one is even saying he should get the tailor invited for questioning, for he has questions to answer and even I am interested in his answers.
