The concerns about local assemblers' capacity are not entirely invalid. If the policy is not implemented carefully, we could see:

· Delays in vehicle delivery
· Quality issues
· Price inflation
· Waivers becoming the new loophole

However, that's not a reason to abandon the policy. It's a reason to hold both the government and local assemblers accountable.

These are adults. It is totally unacceptable that a UNIVERSITY would expel students for expression guaranteed under the constitution of the federal Republic.

Why would the school expel them when suspension could have been considered. This is the attitude of us Nigerians when trusted with power, we oppress the weak.

We are always quick to compare what they do in the developed world when it is convenient. Now ask yourself if this would happen in any sane country.

Lawyers and civic organisations should offer to take this case up with the school please.
