Residents of OkeneLGA of kogi state have been indoors since morning, as a result of clashes between the army and insurgents that broke out of DSS detention facility on 23rd of September.
It started early this morning around 5am when operatives of the DSS raided the inike base of the sect in okene LGA of kogi state in company of the army. After exchange of fire between them and some soldiers been hit by bullets and some of the terrorist killed,the soldiers were chased out by the group and in the process set fire on two hilux vehicles in which the DSS operatives came in.
As at 6:30pm residents of the area are still indoors as gunshots are still heard sporadically.
