Leicester City makes the champions league, and all they got is a very inconsistent striker. Lets see how Ranieri works with him. Just how many times have you seen him play? |

The only NT I ever supported in my life is Naija, note the word 'supported' now I couldn't care less for country competition! You can say that again. Will repeat again that as long as Hazard no shift into his stewpid pause and play mode, he is unstoppable. His best match in almost a year.
Kai... even Thibaut kept a clean sheet while making good saves. The gods of footie (if at all they exist) must be smiling on both of them. |

Just what was Spain expecting, for Croatia to roll over? Taaaaa. Here, they call that "Pijonstvo".
Based on performance so far, I'd say EVERY team needs a Payet, a Srna, a Perisic and a Hamsik. Warriors on the pitch. |

Nihilist: Its funny how his career has gone. I first saw him play in the championship with Sheffield United and he was good, but the man of the moment at that time was Kyle Naughton who is around the same age as him...
They both moved to spurs and the story has changed. That statement Is actually underplayed .
Sheffield United were selling their biggest stars around that time, following their EPL relegation in 07.
Jagielka went to Everton. Michael Tonge went to Stoke. Kazim Kazim went to Turkey. And word on the terrace was that Kyle Naughton was the one to eclipse all of them.
Almost 10 years later, Jagielka never fulfilled his destiny as an EPL midfielder, Kazim Richards never became the world beating winger that was promised, I think Tonge is still floating around in the championship, but Kylev Naughton flopped ridiculously...at least he has found his level at the lower end of the EPL.
Speaking of Sheffield United former stars, watch out for Harry Maguire this season. club captain at the age of 20, got his big money move to Hull a couple of years ago, and is now on the fringes of the 1st team, now back in EPL. Say what you like about Harry Redknapp but I actually liked how spuds were playing under him. Walker surely benefited from that. He was basically always in my fantasy team. I clearly remember his goal against arsenal of 6 years or so ago. Brilliant. Naughton aint as strong and hungry and mad like Walker plus spurs and Swansea no be mate now. Opon Apala ti sun finally. Well let's see what Mr Jacob can do but goodness, where is Chalobah? |

Nihilist: I rate that lad....I seriously rate him.
He is big, fast, strong, and very good on the ball. Defensively a teeny bit suspect, and prone to brainfarts...I think that his game(like danny Rose) has been elevated under Pochettino, and I'm looking forward to watching him reach the next level of his career.
Shame he's a spud though.... Walker. I've always rated that guy and I can remember his rocket (a la Essien) against Arsenal some seasons ago. Top quality. |

Nihilist: Vardy has scored one and was involved in the other.
Forget more to his game...Jamie brings an attitude to England that no other team has.
It's not always about Skill. Drogba didn't become a legend because of skills. Actually he gat skills. scoring goals. Its Vardy party all day any day. Hollywood must be rewriting the scripts as we talk now. |

A40: Unless in defense of my Bayern players when you guys are downgrading them I always give credit. Why would you guys see black and call it white just to rubbish Boateng and for no reason whatsoever either
It was moving at a reasonable speed and would have led to a goal for Ukraine. Had it hit any other part of his body it would have gone in, he didn't just stop the ball by utilzing fantastic body control but also recovered to clear out of harm's way Funny you say that because it is precisely what you guys do but may I repeat though that this is not even the case here. Roman Zozulya (that Ukrainian player) had nothing on that ball. What he (Boateng) did was to stop his very own deflection into the net. EOD. And you cant even compare that to Clarks' |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by FBS: 8:58am On Jun 14, 2016 |
sleekdot: If Boateng had not been in that play where was the ball headed?
Fab saved the day so much that they had to take him off before they could go ahead The ball was heading straight to the far side. And what is wrong is subbing a player? If Fab didn't touch that ball it was going straight into the net something we cant say about Boateng. He had no business dancing there. He (Boateng) was lucky the ball was moving at snail (pregnant for that matter ) speed. |
