Oscar is my No. 10. Mata will have to adapt and change his game.- JM Abeg wetin this man dey yarn? Why would he want Mata of all people to be helping the fullbacks? Where will he get the energy from? Mata is a creator and not a hustler like Oscar. Walahi if JM destroys Mata's game as he did to Mikel the world will hate him for it. WTF! So guys postpone this balance and perfect talk. There is fire on the mountain. |
Its Open season on Chelsea therefore its no surprise to some opolos here parading themselves as omo eniyans That said, I think we can all agree on one thing, that the team aint getting the right results and the style of play (or lack of it) should definitely improve. Shall we go 5 wins on a row, everyone will start singing in auto-tune . And that day my friends, will come soon. Keep ya heads up. |
RuuDie: Highest assists or goals... which would you rather have!? Isco is the "new prince"!"Assists" do have their places in football. Never underate them. |
Folks let's not get too personal please. @nateevs, I think what he is saying is this : The team is not playing the "proper" way due to the imbalances in the team and that even if masked against some opponents (quality of opposition regardless) it will show over time and that is what we are experiencing now. What I wish to add from my end is this. 1. JM though a seasoned manager and a bonafide winner is yet to figure out his starting 11 and he is just experimenting. 2. It is clear that he prefers Oscar to Mata. Why? That's a topic for debate on its own. 3. The likes of Eden, Oscar, Mata, Eto and co should be allowed to hurt teams. Be it a counter attacking style but at breakneck speed. Yesterday we didn't have the speed or spirit to do so. Tactically it was a failure. At the moment the team is playing without a focal point and thus play and look totally disjointed. The remedy will be for JM to stamp is identity on this team the way we know he is capable of. And that may include the 2-0s JM Classics. |
walahi Ibime I understand your points and some of them are valid. My question is this, why is he playing to Emenalo's scripts? Could it be that he (JM) feels that he is capable of getting good results with the squad he inherited? Many of us can't even understand why Chelsea bought Willian, Sule and co. Are they JM type of players? And Oh of course, things will change but until then Chelsea is on a long thing. @nateevs, we were the ones complaining last season that the only thing missing from Eden's game was his close to non-existent defensive abilities and we were happy to see now that he tracks back. So no need changing statement now. JM has always played this way. He expects them to track back. I remember Robben complaining about this. That said, we were supposed to sweep Basel away even with the U-21 boys. They couldn't have played that bad. While it is unbelievable that JM is yet to find a solution to this "Mata", I doubt he is the "saviour" right now. Them boys are not playing as a team. |
nitlad: If we go lose, nor be dis kain match nah... Basel? Basel fa...Precisely what we were all mad at. Tools or not, no be this kind match we suppose lose ra ra. A shameful display but loads of time to get things right. Its Fulham next. Goodnight folks. |
nitlad: But bros, we don't have the tools for gidigbo football...Oro gidiigbo ko ni ele yi. Score and shut up shop. Lo ba tan. ![]() |
Ibime: Carriagher, Redknapp and Ballack ripping into the softness of the Chelsea team. You mean we needed some kind of steel to beat Basel? Them boys never played like a team in the first place. JM should go back to the drawing board. Its not too late. I expect changes. Either personnel or attitude or style or all three. |
nitlad: Somebody tell Mourinho to stop granting post match interviews after a loss.Lol. Easy folks. O ba ni, ko tii baje. ![]() JM should play his brand of football and it will be business as usual. |
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "I'm not in shock. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose. The reality is that sometimes you don't win. I'm not happy of course. We have taken a step back in qualification but we have to assume responsibility. We have five games left to finish in the top two. "Basel played very well. We had a lot of the ball but we couldn't create many chances. Basel equalised at our best moment of the game. After that we were punished defensively. We are strong at defending corners. Emotionally this is not a mature team and when you are in a difficult position it was not enough. "I rotate my team because I have to. I kept the structure of the team and the players must fight for position. It was not individuals who lost the match." Er, I think this is rubbish. Aint just convinced yet but I know certainly that he will turn this around. Yes I said it. |
Ibime: Don't ask me but he came in reading another man's script. Its irrelevant at this stage as he wasn't forced to accept the job. Its about time he stamps his authority on this team. Starting against Fulham. |
Wow. Just wow. I assumed very few saw this coming. A game we were supposed to win and easily too? Basel brought down Chelsea so its back to the drawing board for JM and this team. The man should just be himself. Style over results? I say NO! We should be able to get results with style (the Chelsea style or way i.e) Absolutely disappointing but they have 5 more matches to win us over. Ohun to ti se le o ti se le. We gast to move on. |
Ibime: Jose was being too diplomatic from day one, playing to Emenalo and RAs script. If he does not return to his principles, Emenalos childish and naive squad building and incompetent fantasism will ruin him.Was he forced into doing this? When did Jose become a yes man? |
OMO IBO: Flunk this barcelona type footie abeg.Lol. Thats what the owner wants but again, that is not the only problem now. The team is yet to understand or know how to finish teams off. |
Ibime: Can Basle turn up against a team of even Maloudas, Kalous and Meireles to try this nonsense? This is not just a question of tikitaka only ( heck you know I like it when we play the Chelsea way) JM is yet to get anything right bar the first game of the season. I'm yet to see his print on this team. Only one person to blame and that is the manager. |
Now what is this? Absolute madness!!!! Taking my words back. |
The back 4 were totally confused with the way Basel passed the ball around for that goal. |
Very well. Its gotta to be gung-ho now. Innit? |
Mata on for Willian |
OMO IBO: Eto'o is hard working but I never see wetin that guy dey do going forward.Hard work pays and you will see very soon. |
Oscaaaaaar! You dont score those or do you? |
Ibime: The dude look like an unserious playboyThought I was the only one. Dude showing no interest so far. Azpi is on the bench and as far as I know, no beef. Thinks he may start against fulham. |
Abeg willian dey pitch so? |
So Alaba scores against CSKA makes him a better player than Cole? hehehehehehehe ![]() Its clear some people have bean cakes as opolo. |
Re Moses: Was he not with us all this time? Abeg jare. He scored against Swansea? ni igbayen nko? |
For the 1000000th time. Mikel aint a DM. The earlier folks realize this the better. |
I've watched two la liga games from Madrid (Betis,Bilbao) and he has been a stand up guy in both of them! You guys go on like Ozil never had a bad game for Madrid or they didn't struggle at times with him as well
The standout "player" so far is Diego Lopez. Besides, no one ever said Real didnt struggle even with Ozil on the pitch. can you show me one single player who has never experienced a bad game? Ozil was important to Real and the reactions of this team mates tells the whole story. Plus he had the highest number of assists in Europe. That I think aint a small matter. |
Congrats guys. A deserved win. Play more like this (especially in the second half) and you might just be smiling at the end of the season. Heheehe. |
Lool Superb performance by Madrid today! Casillas might as well accept his benching in good faith there's no other option Cry all you want about Ozil but so far Isco is looking like a competent replacement already! Can't believe that boy is just 21
Apparently last night was the first match you watched (if at all you did) so your statement is understandable. The boy still has some miles to cover. Those who follow la liga matches will tell you exactly that. As for Iker, well Ramos did him in this time and not JM. Wonder what Marca will say now? Though I honestly hate to see a player getting injured. I should know. |
Enyimba eyin! Good job guys. |
Enyimba rocking the show. Lets go there! |
ocelot2006: A single dirty slap. Works like magic.Oh I bet that makes you feel like a champion dirty slapping a 2 year old. Keep it up. |
