debosky: Ok - on what measure is RDM better than Rafa? Because of a less than half season scorecard of being '4 points behind'? For real? cheesy
Is Rafa better than RDM?
beside, this is simple. on the basis that he did a double (even if it aint domestic) for the club.
the club was in a mess and the team couldn't just get it together but he brought out the best in them. That is good enough for me.
on what basis is Rafa better? please dont tell me because he won the La Liga. That was when?

A man presented with a treble winning team but only managed to destroy it! puleeezzz!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by FBS: 12:34pm On Feb 04, 2013
debosky: No disputes.
clap for yourself. grin

debosky: Look I can't be spoonfeeding grown ups like you - if you say RDM has achieved more at Chelski than Rafa, then no issues! But only a footie novice would use that as sole evidence to claim that RDM is a better manager overall.
My guy, quit the brain infarction. cheesy (just joking) grin
So who is a better manager overall? One who delivers for your club or which one? call me simple minded if you will but what do I care with his achievements some 200 years ago? cheesy
You think JM's name was chanted at 2 different stadiums in 2 different cities at the same time because he is a better manager overall? heck no, it is because he has delivered brilliantly for those clubs! FACT!

debosky: Even you know that footie isn't that simple - which is why rational owners typically judge coaches over a full season, not over half a season.
Lets see:
Avram got to the UCL finals, Guus delivered, RdM delivered. How is Rafa doing?

debosky: Heck, if the measure is how 'far behind' you are, then AVB is a better coach than RDM cos he was 4th when he left and Chelski ended up 6th. Would you agree to that?
The league was no longer the priority. It was the UCL. Any novice, even those who don't watch football at all will tell you that.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by FBS: 12:26pm On Feb 04, 2013
debosky: Where did I claim exploits with one club are invalid? huh undecided

The rate at which Chelski generates dimwits is quite worrying.

Rafa's achievements were at two clubs in different countries - fact. However, I never stated that you need to do so in two different countries/clubs to be comparable.

The fact is that RDM hasn't even managed a club in the top division for a year. He has never won a league title - the best measure of the quality of a coach.
No need to insult others to get your points across.
As at the time RdM took over the league was no longer a priority. The Champions League was and he delivered with some icing on the cake.
This season we were some merely 4 points behind and nothing suggested we wouldn't have been better off now.
Rafa comes in and we are suddenly playing rubbish and way down the table, yet Debo says Rafa is better. How?
Because he won the La Liga? For real?

nitlad: According to Debosky ever the kook, Arrigo Sacchi is a nobody in the pantheon of managers, because all his exploits were with Milan! grin
allow the guy to dey yarn tomato. grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by FBS: 12:17pm On Feb 04, 2013
debosky: Like I said, when RDM wins La Liga twice in a row (once with the UEFA Cup) while being massively outspent by Real and Barca, come back to make a comparison.

Rafa has won everything that RDM has won - and more. The current points total doesn't change that.

Wenger is irrelevant to this discussion. In European competition, Rafa is better than Wenger - no doubt about it!
In terms of European competition RdM is better than Wenger. FACT!

I'm not bothered with what Benitez did elsewhere. I ask you, what has Benitez achieved for Chelsea? NOTHING! He had the chances to but he FAILED!
You claim the defense will be better and he his the champion of knockout games - how are things now?
If Benitez was that good how come we are sooooo faaaaaar behind how knowing that we were only 4 points behind.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by FBS: 11:53am On Feb 04, 2013
debosky: Una don dey misyarn again - who the fcukk is RDM in the pantheon of managers?? Let RDM go and win two La Liga titles with a lesser side like Valencia when Barca and Real are the big spenders. Let RDM move to a new league and win the UCL without playing 10-0-1 formations. If he can do any of those things without one of the most expensive squads ever in the history of the game then you can compare him to Rafa.

Rafa has already forgotten more about football management than RDM will ever know.
who de bang is Rafa?
is it a crime to play 10-0-1 formation?
we were 4 points when he came in. how many points behind now?
no be you tell us say Rafa na kokomaster for knockout games. how well did it go for him?
oh, you also mentioned he has finally fixed the backline. How well is that going?
Rafa ko, Bose ni. abegy!

Rafa aint no better than RDM. FACT!

PS: Wenger with all his experience is yet to lift the UCL Trophy. Beat that!
