goallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll nigeriaaaaaaaaaaaaaa |
Game is slowly but surely coming to life. |
Vital and wonderful defending by Sodje. |
save some few useless passes and touches, they are NOT doing bad at all. Impressive even. |
Good strike by Uche. . .almost caught Given out of position. |
he be like say them wan fight ooh ![]() |
Our boys have started brightly. . .dribbling and passing. ![]() Its a long time i heard this chant "All we are saying. . .Give us more goals". fantastic, that song. |
Ibime:Take it or leave it. He is. He is that good. They are two different players (style of play and position) but in terms of quality that they bring to the team, they are at par. Fact. You guys make it sound as if Arshie is the next best thing outta Hollywood. ![]() |
debosky:you are only echoing my statement. FBS: |
MrCrackles:i know that will be the arguing point but I watch this guy and can boastfully tell you that he is at par with Arshie. Those are the two best players in russia if you dont count CSKA Moscow keeper. PS: Giggs was simply honored for his contributions to the EPL after so many years. That was his last chance to be named best player. |
dayokanu:Dayok, sometimes you just type without thinking or checking your factoids . Don't you know that Zhirkov was voted the best russian player last season? some people sef. . .and they claim Ph.d in soccer simply because they follow the shultzLiga. ![]() |
if these guys mess up today, na wen ooH. ![]() A friend just told me that Nigerians are celebrating democracy day today. . .well, these boys can celebrate in style by winning and give football loving Nigerians some satisfaction. |
dyabman:completely agree with you and I guess this is what sepp and co are trying to implement. The 6+5 stuff. To compete you need to spend but not outrageously. Big money dont mean big performance. Fact. And then again, shouldn't Chelsea hire a manager now before they start buying players. You dont want to buy a player that the coach will never use. |
The way teams just throw money anyhow nowadays. . .shait scary. Gone are the days when you buy players for 2 milla. ![]() |
Ibime:Ibime, you quoted 2 currencies. . . ![]() I still think its a joke. YZ is good but for 30M? maybe he is some sort of surprise package and hopefully he brings good quality to the team. |
HNIC:HNIC, boy you scare me. You say he loves Arsenal and left only for "personal" reasons. . .are you his brother, cousin or in any way close to him other an armchair supporter like the rest of you? He left because he knew he could never win the UCL with L'Arses. Take it or leave it. Now that he has won it, what he will do next is his decision. Seriously, what makes you think he may not join PSG after some years . . .will he be the first footballer to do so? He may not be a top dog but the dude is the French captain and that means he still got it. You would have loved him to remain at the emirati 'cos since his departure you peeps have won nada. Boy, I need protection from your logic 'cos its shitty scary. |
Eagles hit camp: Ten Super Eagles players trooped into the Hilton Hotel Cobham in London on Wednesday morning, ahead of Friday’s international friendly match against the Republic of Ireland. Led by the injured pair of Dickson Etuhu and Danny Shittu, early arrivals include new invitee Sone Aluko, who plays for Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League, as well as Spain-based midfielder Kalu Uche, Inter Milan’s Obinna Nsofor and Club Brugges' Joseph Akpala. There are also defenders Ayodele Adeleye, Yusuf Mohammed, Sam Sodje and Olubayo Adefemi. More players were being expected tonight. Friday’s match, which will bring to Nigerians sweet memories of previous wins over Republic of Ireland in another friendly prior to the World Cup finals in 2002 and at the invitational Unity Cup Tournament in London in 2005, will be played at the Craven Cottage home of Fulham FC. NFF President Sani Lulu Abdullahi also arrived in London on Wednesday evening, and is scheduled to meet with the players alongside Minister/Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Engineer Sani Ndanusa at lunch on Thursday. Time is 13h00. The weather is cold with showers of rain, and the team will have its first training on Thursday at the match venue, by 6pm. It is one hour drive from the hotel. http://www.kickoff.com/static/news/article.php?id=8694 |
English Premiership side Chelsea signed Russian international midfielder Yury Zhirkov on a four-year term from Russian three-time champions CSKA Moscow, the daily tabloid Tvoi Den reported Friday. Reports said that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was excited with Zhirkov's performances this season and has negotiated a 30-million-dollar deal with the Red Army side. "Yury (Zhirkov) has signed the contract with Chelsea just a day or two ago," the newspaper quoted Zhirkov's agent as saying. "He will join his new team this summer. http://www.kickoff.com/static/european/news.php?id=16133 |
Cristalz:let me dig you small. . .are you trying to sleep through your defeat to Barca? ![]() I thought this was going to be called off but NFA managed to pull this off Predos? not really my kind of thing. ![]() |
The countdown. . . |
Emperoh:You and I know that in football, anything can happen. Both on and off field issues are sometimes resolved by the signing of a single player or manager. Don't get me wrong, he doesnt matter to me if he signs up Newcastle but the point remains that he was clearly dejected last night and might affect him. And if it does, it affects the whole team 'cos he is your best player. As regards Titi, if you check the Arsenal thread. I just made a comment about it there. Titi left L'Arses because he knew he would never win the UCL with them. Arsenal na championship side team. ![]() Gudjohnsen though not a first team player for Barca this season would be glad he is now an european champion but I tell you he'd be happier if it happened with Chelsea. |
HNIC, what are you saying? That he left because of his messy divorce? you got to be joking. The main reason was UCL. He wanted it badly. Factoid: He got want he wanted with Barca. Certainly he can't be at the Emirati forever but you mentioned that he is a Gunner for life. So what exactly is your point? Yes, he looked like a passer by on the field 'cos his heart was no longer there. Wenger tried to trick him with a new stadium but shait didn't work. Henry is a good player, and please count me out of those who say he is not. While he was your king at Highbury, he was admired even by his opponents. What folks had against him was that he wasn't performing at the same level for his country. I stand to be corrected on this. Forget this history stuff. . .build on it then we will take you serious. Until then. . . |
Ibime:Vidic lacks speed and only compensates by pulling shirts. ![]() Evra, as much as I admire the player was "lost" yesterday. Now I'm not quite sure where he even played last night. None of his passes reached its target (coupled with the fact that there was no one to mark). . .same for Giggs and in fact the whole team. SAF blew it big time. Wonder what he was thinking. Got to say it, GH is a master in games like this irrespective of what others may say. |
Emperoh:Honestly, I will sign up for RM and you already pointed out the reason which is quite is simple: sign up to make a major impact. Sign up to rejuvenate a team in shambles. Thats what I'd do. If CR7 remains with you folks then he is only resting on his laurels. Not good for a player. We all know he is no Maldini. FYI: I'm better than CR7, just didnt take football serious . But watch out for my kid. ![]() |
OH yes he did head the ball and scored against an English team. Not that I like Messi (call me anything but still cannot forget his antics during Holland 2005) but my question is to the MU defence. What the heck were they looking at by allowing a dimunitive Messi to spend close to 27 secs in the air uninterrupted? My mother-in law could have defended better last night. Mind you she is close to 60 if not more. ![]() |
It's shameful Gaynners, Renties and Scousers are here complaining about United's performance when they have won nowt this season. Pray tell, United still had 4 titles to show for playing 66 matches this season. Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool played more than 50 games and had no title to show for it.
Can we leave that until saturday night? ![]() Of course, you do.No I don't. To me he is just one of the several players in the EPL. Same as I wouldn't sweat if Peinaar leaves Everton. Not that they are in the same class, just that I dont give a shait about it. geddit? What else must he prove?Maybe I put it badly but as he has won everything with MU that might be the very reason he has to move on. Since he has nothing else to prove. Call it a change of environment. ![]() 2 different situations IMHO.You would be singing a different song had MU won last night. Every player wants to win the UCL as much as possible. Just as same goes for the manager. Last night was the game of his life or should I say, battle of his life. Messi. . .remember that name? Now everyone would tell you that Messi is better than CR7. What else? La Liga or UCL??Please laugh 'cos as it stands, your best player may be heading to La Liga. |
So Ronaldo was the reason we had no midfield? The same Ronaldo that led the attack? No he was not responsible for the zero performance of your MF yesterday. Just an addition to the statement. That said, It was clear to see yesterday that, that was the biggest match of his life to date and the team, erm, should I say let him down? Personally, I dont give a ninny if he remains in the EPL. Selling him will give him the zeal to prove something for himself and not for the team. His dejection (after yesterday) may take a bigger part of him, thus the loss of interest in MU may set in. Look at Henry, he left The Arses and he is now an european champion. I can clearly compare both situations, can't you? PS: Agreed that CR7 already won the UCL. . .but he wants more. I know you dont want him to go 'cos he is your best player. |
It was 12 against 10.
dont get it? were you counting the goal post? Y'all should sell CR7 before it is too late. There was simply no MF last night. Eastbay:Yep it does. I was expecting a fight yesterday but saw an 80 minute training session. SAF blew it? |
dont really understand all these erections about history . Holding on to it will do you no good. You just have to improve on it. That is what success is based on. L'Arses to quote BlueDiva, are retrogressing. for real. |
Eastbay:bros mi, how da ya feel now ? That was a pathetic performance last night. |
United will win this GAME!!! |
I wonder what he has to say this time. me thinks everyone knows what he stands for. |
