CelebritiesYou Can Never Ever Murder Me - Ice Prince Attacks Fellow Rapper by fedrick901(op): 11:41pm On Sep 12, 2013

Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince has reacted to a recent diss song directed at him. The rapper, Rukus had earlier bashed Ice Prince on his new freestyle ‘The list' questioning his lyrical ability. ‘Ice Prince, you that function guy, why the hell are your punches dry? I am transforming while you are under performing. You don’t believe in no bars, I swear this n***a is murmuring‘.

Ice Prince was obviously offended, so he went on to Twitter to respond, "You can drop 20 songs now and they still might not blow. If I drop 10 tweets about you, you’ll get an NEA nomination next year". Then adds "Nice raps but don’t start your career dissing me, Naeto, Vector or anyone else u intend to. You can never ever murder me on anything". Tweets below:

PoliticsASUU Strike: Lagos Apc Blames Pdp-led Fg Over Inability To Meet Lecturers' Deman by fedrick901(op): 6:33pm On Sep 10, 2013

The All Progressives Congress, APC, the Lagos State chapter, has stated that the ongoing suppuration of the strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has proven that the PDP has shown its moral and administrative bankruptcy.

The statement also said that PDP’s inability to meet the demands of the lecturers and tame the culture of perennial industrial actions has displayed that the PDP is inept and bankrupt of ideas on how to take Nigeria to the next level.

Joe Igbokwe, the Lagos State Interim Publicity Secretary of the APC, who signed the statement, also said the party decried a situation where PDP members continue to chase shadows while the nation’s educational sector continues to deteriorate under its watch.

Therefore, APC called on the PDP-led Federal Government to accede to the demands of ASUU without delay so that Nigerian students would resume their academic activities.

“We had been watching as the PDP-led Federal Government treat with unseriousness and levity the demands of ASUU, which is simply for the Federal Government to implement agreements it freely entered into in the past with ASUU. We note that with each passing day, members of the PDP seek to trivialize the demands and input ludicrous reasons for the strike, even as members of ASUU have been unwavering in their insistence that they were on strike because this same government has refrained from fulfilling its part of the agreements on how to improve the present poor standard of education in Nigeria.

The APC further stated:

“We are left to wonder why a profligate government and party would allow the ASUU strike to fester the way it is doing over the demand for better funding of Nigerian universities. But for a government and a party that subscribes to freeloading the Nigerian commonwealth for its members while vital and critical sectors suffer, we are not surprised that the members of the PDP and the Jonathan government are not really concerned that Nigerian youths have been left to waste away for months now while elephantine corruption is the order of the day in the present governance. We wonder what the demand of ASUU is to the huge tranches of our national wealth the members of the PDP and their cronies have been purloining for the past fourteen years.

“We, of Lagos APC, decry in the strongest terms, the attitude of the PDP, as a party and the PDP-led Federal Government to the ASUU strike. We see this as one of the many proofs of the incompetence of the PDP in governing Nigeria. We see this as deliberate criminal neglect of the country’s educational sector just because the members of the PDP have leveraged enough public funds and resources to send their children overseas while killing the nation’s educational sector.

We are appalled that the PDP-led Federal Government is showing less concern over the gargantuan fall in the country’s educational standard, which had been consistently proved in all international rankings of Nigerian universities. We are sad that the PDP government is not interested in resolving this crisis on the pretext that it cannot meet the demands of ASUU, which were mere parts of an agreement it signed with ASUU in the past.

“We see this as devilish and a direct assault on the future of Nigerian youths. We therefore ask the Federal Government to immediately accept the demands of ASUU and start the implementation so as to allow ASUU members to go back to work. We urge all Nigerians to compel the PDP government to stop the present neglect of the educational sector by adequately funding the sector, as contained in the demands of ASUU.”

Musician To Lawyer: Singer 9ice Goes Back To School
One time A-list artiste in Nigeria, Abolore Adigun popularly known as 9ice, is back to school pursuing his ambition of being a lawyer. He disclosed this in an interview, adding that being a lawyer has always been his biggest dream.

The 'Gongo Aso' singer said that he is presently a student of Capella University, Minnesota, USA, studying Public Safety and Common Law.

See excerpts from the interview below: Your decision to leave school wouldn't have gone down well with your parents, how did they react to it and what was constantly coming to your mind back then?

It was not an easy decision to make. There were days that I had to live in the studio. Talking about my parents' reaction, I had to lie for a while, pretended as if all was well. Before my parents knew I wasn't in school, it was too late to complain because I was already on TVs, making money and rocking shows all around.

Would you consider going back to school someday?

I'm in school already, studying public safety and Common Law at Capella university. It is an online programme. I can't think of any other course except law.

Would you trade your being famous for something else if you look at some of the bad side of fame that you have experienced over time?

Yes, I will love to trade fame with some silent life that does not arrogate too much attention to one, but it has got nothing to do with any bad experience. No matter what you do or who you are, there's always a difficult time and life challenges that you can't run away from. But I will really love to trade because I wish to be a lawyer. That has always been my dream.

gluv01: A senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that does not know how to respect the rights of women and children.
Akintola himself is a disgrace to the academia, a prof. who could not define VVF; a prof who could not draw a line between his society and his religion. The Lagos State University should be employed to re-asses his professorship and if possible relieve him of his position in the University. He is simply an "Area Boy" and should not be allowed to produce area boys like him in LASU. They were all crashing into the converstion without waiting for someone else to finish. Even the senator managed to pass on his points calmly

9AIJAHOUSE

Mercy Johnson Okojie turned 29 years yesterday, the 28th of August 2013 and here is a message from the mother of one to her fans…

Today, I thought of many things I would love to have as birthday gifts and the many dreams I am still pursuing. In all of this I’m not losing sight of the fact that if not for God I might have ended up on the street like the many kids and young adults begging for food and some prostituting to make ends meet. If we know the circumstances that force some of these people on the street, we would spare a thought for them. I am where I am today purely by the grace of God and the grace of people who believed in me from the word go.
Recently, I was at the Boys Reform Home, Oregun, Lagos, the discussion I had with the principal Mr. Kotun and much later with the Special Adviser in charge of all remand homes in Lagos set me thinking about the boys and girls on the street. They have dreams too. Can they fulfill those dreams on the street? The answer will likely be no; because I won’t be where I am today if I ended up on the street.
9AIJAHOUSE

For this reason, Mercy Johnson Foundation will be doing a lot to get kids off the street. We are not asking people for money or donation, I will do all I can with the resources God has given me, and with the support of my husband to help get these kids off the street and set them on the path where they can begin to pursue their dreams. I want to plead with people, fans, friends and colleagues to spare a thought for the children on the street. We can begin by educating people around us, parents, the children and people in charge of children (Oga-house help relationship, teacher-student relationship, and others) on the need to treat every child like the future of Nigeria depends on it. And truth be told, our future will not be all that enjoyable if we let the scourge of ‘street-children’ fester. By then, the rich will begin to cry. I learnt Lagos State Government has 11 homes where most children picked from the streets are kept, reformed and reunited with their families after counseling.
