A suspected thief who allegedly stole a mobile phone was baptized with and forced to drink dirty engine after he was subjected to severe beatings by an irate mob at Shalom Spot, a suburb of Lashibi in Tema.
The suspect, James Amanor, a 23-year-old scrap dealer, after receiving the beatings, was marched to a nearby fitting shop near the Community 18 Junction, close to Sakumono in Tema, by the irate mob. The mob poured gallons of dirty engine oil on him and forced him to drink some.
Amanor managed to escape into a bush at the Sakumono Ramsey site in Tema after he was set free by his captors who refused to heed his plea for him to be taken to the nearest police station.
Narrating the incident which led to Amanor’s arrest to DAILY GUIDE, the residents claimed the suspect, along with is friend, unexpectedly snatched a Nokia mobile phone from a passer-by after they had monitored the victim to an isolated area.
They said Amanor snatched the phone from the victim and passed it on to his colleague who was ahead of the victim and bolted with it.
Luck however eluded Amanor as he was apprehended after the victim had raised an alarm of losing his phone to the suspects, attracting the attention of some residents.
They said, “We gave them a hot chase but the other guy managed to escape but we managed to arrest this one at the Shalom Spot.”

Kwame Ofosu-Asare, 17, from Catford, died on the way to hospital after he was attacked on the Moorlands Estate, Brixton, at about 17:50 GMT on Friday.

Police are examining if it was linked to five stabbings on 25 February, another on Friday and one on Sunday.

The eight knife attacks are all within a small area of south London.

Police said there is no evidence that the final stabbing - this one in New Cross on Sunday morning - was connected to the others.

But they have not ruled out links between all eight attacks.

Senior officers and community leaders have appealed for calm following the outbreak of violence. No arrests have been made over the murder.

Sexy actress, Vicky Zugah has disclosed that until recently that she was faced by a producer’s wish to have his way with her before giving her a lead role in a movie, she thought comments that suggest that producers demand sex before giving roles were false.

Speaking in an interview on Day Break Hitz with Lexis Bill Wednesday, Vicky who started as a cosmetologist and a make-up artist said she was dumbfounded when the producer demanded sex before handing her the role.

Narrating her personal ordeal, Vicky said, “I didn’t believe it until it happened to me. This production manager (name withheld)…called me one day and said he had a script for me. I went over to his office and he showed two different roles, one was supporting and the other was a lead character.”

“He said to me Nadia Buari was supposed to play the lead character but she was out of the country at that moment so if I really want the lead character then I should accompany him somewhere. Seriously I didn’t know we were going to a hotel, I would not have gone with him.”

A Russian passenger plane has crashed into a main road after overshooting a runway at a Moscow airport, killing at least four people, police say.

Reports said there were between eight and 12 people on board the Red Wings Tupolev-204, flight number RWZ9268, which was landing at Vnukovo airport.
Four people were severely injured, emergency officials said.
