@hazel, I understand your grouse and you have every right to complain if you're not getting value for your money. However i wish to let you know that technology had evolved and what we have now are transformerless inverters - (inverters without transformers). They are more efficient, better protected against any fault and much more durable and very very cheap and most importantly you don't need large array of battery bank to get them to work. I will advise you try this for a change. A single 12VDC battery [/b]is enough to power them but depending on the load and the number you of hours you intend to use them might necessitate adding one or two more batteries in parallel.

About the solar panel, i have designed one but was unable to install it last wk. due to a little illness. I hope it will be installed somewhere in MOWE this saturday after environmental. It comprises of the following:

1. 2pcs. of 100W polycrystalline solar panel
2. One 20A charge controller
3. One 1000W (1.25KVA) power inverter
4. One 12V 200AH deep cycle battery
5. Other accessories

I tried as much as possible to provide all these at the cheapest price you can get anywhere. For now, i will like the house to wait until this job is done before launching it.

@unique, most brand of batteries are okay just ensure you get at least six months guarantee on them, i have used mercury
sumo etc and they all performed. Presently i deal with ROY batteries and they are okay too. The inverter is 12V which means with a single battery it will give you 220V to power your equipments, now if you need it to power the equipments for longer time then you can now talk of adding more batteries. You can add as many batteries as you want as long as they are connected in parallel to give 12V output (Hope you understand what i mean).

If you ask me to recommend battery, i'll definitely recommend the one i deal on and that is ROY deep cycle batteries. It comes with six month guarantee.

Question - Is it your invention, cos I have a problem with buying locally made inverters.
Answer - Its not my invention, its imported but locally made inverters are very good too, i used to supply and install
local inverters before i discovered this. Presently in my cafe i use a 2KVA local inverter and it works fine,
though i plan selling it and installing this because of battery requirement.

2. Again, is it tested yet, or it's just straight out of the lab?

Answer Yes, very well tested, i use it in my house every day and in fact the 1000W works better than my locally made
2KVA inverter.

3. How long has it been in use?
Its been in use for about 7months now. Since early February 2013.

4. Are there bigger capacities, or those are still in the planning stage, lol?
There are bigger capacities but not in stock presently, hopefully in less than 2wks from now, all things been
equal.
