Tormentor:
It depends on how long u did the job in question, did a job not related to my field for two years after my NYSC. I didn't mention it in my SOP. If you did any professional course etc during the period you can mention that. Then if you're attaching a copy of your CV, which I did, you can put it there so they see you were not idle. I put this employment letter in question as part of my proof of financial documents during my application.
The point is if your experience is not related to your line of study, leave it out and make the SOP sound "academic"
My opinion sha. Other gurus in the house can help.
I hope this helps.
Thanks really. This's the address. Udi199032@gmail.com
Will be glad to hear from you

[quote author=yacha77 post=77340226]Hi Qudkom,
I am attached to a security firm as gaurd which is unskilled and unrelated to my studies. I fear this job experience wouldn't count and could be difficult to co-relate it in SOP. I have enough funds and wouldn't need a co-sponsor

Qudkom:
Hello, all the programs listed show reasonable progression. My advice for you will be:

1. If you have enough funds with you get a GIC (Guaranteed investment certificate) from one of the Canadian banks to pay in your living expenses for 12months.
2. I will advice you go for the 2-year Advanced diploma program.
3. Pay your tuition deposit for a semester.
4. Write a convincing SOP.
5. Lastly, you didn't mention your current job and work experience.
6. Study gap doesn't mean anything(You definitely haven't been idle this past years). Regarding the self sponsor I'll advice you get a co-sponsor.

P.s: what's the unrelated field you've been working?

I have a first degree in electrical engineering since 2014, after which I went for nysc the following year 2015. Three years on since, I have been in the UAE working but in quite unrelated field to which I studied. I, in two attempts, couldn't get a masters admission in Canadian university with CGPA 3.4
Now I have admission in energy management for 1year graduate certificate,
admission in electrical engineering control system for 3year advanced diploma,
a fresh bachelors degree admission in Environmental engineering,
and admission for a 2 year advanced diploma fast tract in energy system engineering. All admissions for Fall 2019.
Please, good people, I need advice on which one to follow for best study permit/visa chance considering my odd job and study gap. I want to apply from UAE. I got no wife, kid or business firm and am self sponsored. My budget can comfortably take the 1year and two year programs.
