It can be frustrating sha coupled with the distance and time spent on the road.

All networks are available in sokoto, MTN being the strongest except in some few areas.
Both MTN and ETISALAT have 3G connection.
But generally the network is okay here.

Don't be scammed o.
The distance to the camp from sokoto where most cars will drop you is like 10 to 15 minutes drive, which cost leSs than #300 (most times far lesser) with bike.
Bike is the major means of transportation here in sokoto.
