Kwankwaso and his successor and his former deputy has been engaging in battle of supremacy over the control of the All Progressives Party (APC) in the state.

Helicopter landed in helipad of the new Ekiti State Government House at Ayoba Villa, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital few minute past noon. It is rumoured in some quaters that it brought money from a Governor in the south south state.

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been trooping to the Government House to collect money.

Kebbi State Police Command Public Relation Officer, Mustapha Suleiman on Thursday confirmed the arrest of a herdsman identified as Babuga Kuaara for killing a police inspector.

The deceased officer was reportedly attached to the Kaoje police division in Bagudo local government area.

A farmer had reported Kuaara to the police after cows belonging to the herdsman allegedly destroyed his farm.

Uche Secondus, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday says Ekiti State has been militarised and citizens are afraid ahead of Saturday, July 14 governorship election in the state.

Secondus said this while leading protest against the police to the National Assembly over reported assault on Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and some party members by the police.

The PDP chairman accompanied by top party leaders warned that if the election in Ekiti state is rigged there won't be election in 2019 and called on International Community to pay attention to happenings in Ekiti.

National Chairman of Labour Party (LP), Abdulkadir Abdulsalam on Tuesday says coalition of 38 oppositions parties will not render smaller political parties irrelevant.

The Peoples Democratic Parties (PDP) was the rally point of the alliance named Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).

Adulsalam in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said there was no plan by all the parties involved to dissolve into any other party, hence, the issue of making smaller parties irrelevant, especially at the state level, would not arise.

“(But) it is as if a very hungry bird is dancing at the centre of the road and a disgruntled drummer not far away in the bush is drumming for him,” he said.

“I am very confident that we can afford to ignore Buba Galadima … for me, there is no cause for alarm, nobody should panic over one Baba Galadima, whose group, I believe, cannot define us in the next election in 2019.

A court of appeal ordered Saraki to return to the CCT — where he had earlier been acquitted. This prompted the senate president to proceed to the supreme court.
