Kano State Commissioner of Agriculture, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has signified his intention to contest for Senator representing Kano Central senatorial District which is presently occupied by Former Governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Kwankwaso and his successor and his former deputy has been engaging in battle of supremacy over the control of the All Progressives Party (APC) in the state.

Helicopter landed in helipad of the new Ekiti State Government House at Ayoba Villa, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital few minute past noon. It is rumoured in some quaters that it brought money from a Governor in the south south state.

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been trooping to the Government House to collect money.

Kebbi State Police Command Public Relation Officer, Mustapha Suleiman on Thursday confirmed the arrest of a herdsman identified as Babuga Kuaara for killing a police inspector.

The deceased officer was reportedly attached to the Kaoje police division in Bagudo local government area.

A farmer had reported Kuaara to the police after cows belonging to the herdsman allegedly destroyed his farm.

Uche Secondus, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday says Ekiti State has been militarised and citizens are afraid ahead of Saturday, July 14 governorship election in the state.

Secondus said this while leading protest against the police to the National Assembly over reported assault on Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and some party members by the police.

The PDP chairman accompanied by top party leaders warned that if the election in Ekiti state is rigged there won't be election in 2019 and called on International Community to pay attention to happenings in Ekiti.

Information and Culture Minister, Lai Mohammed says he has nothing to say about National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate scandal allegation against Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun.

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State says Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris should be held responsible if anything happen to him.

National Chairman of Labour Party (LP), Abdulkadir Abdulsalam on Tuesday says coalition of 38 oppositions parties will not render smaller political parties irrelevant.

The Peoples Democratic Parties (PDP) was the rally point of the alliance named Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).

Adulsalam in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said there was no plan by all the parties involved to dissolve into any other party, hence, the issue of making smaller parties irrelevant, especially at the state level, would not arise.

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested Adeyemi Alao, the suspected killer of Miss Khadijat Oluboyo, the daughter of former Ondo State Deputy Governor Lasisi Oluboyo.

Khadijat was found dead in Alao’s home on Sunday.

Adenike Oluboyo, daughter of Lasisi Olugbenga Oluboyo, former deputy governor of Ondo state, was on Sunday found dead at the Akure residence of one Adeyemi Alao identified as her boyfriend.

Oluboyo was a final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko in Ondo.

Ahmad Gumi, a prominent islamic cleric says he knew President Muhammadu Buhari would make Nigeria worse than how Jonathan left it.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has warned All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole to desist from rigging Ekiti state governorship election slated for Saturday 14 July 2018.

All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole says all rebellion in the party will be crushed.

Adams Oshiomhole said this when former state Chairpersons of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) paid him a visit in Abuja.
“(But) it is as if a very hungry bird is dancing at the centre of the road and a disgruntled drummer not far away in the bush is drumming for him,” he said.

“I am very confident that we can afford to ignore Buba Galadima … for me, there is no cause for alarm, nobody should panic over one Baba Galadima, whose group, I believe, cannot define us in the next election in 2019.

President Muhammadu Buhari says acquittal of Senate President, Bukola Saraki by the Supreme Court on Friday has shown that the judiciary is effective.

The apex court had upheld the ruling of the CCT that the senate president has no case to answer.

A court of appeal ordered Saraki to return to the CCT — where he had earlier been acquitted. This prompted the senate president to proceed to the supreme court.
