Politics / Prophet Says Atiku Will Defeat PMB In 2019, Biafra Will Come To Pass, Makes 50 by femtomax: 3:00pm On Jan 01, 2017
Prophet Wale Olagunju, the presiding Bishop of Divine Seed of God Chapel Ministries in Ibadan, Oyo state, has released his prophecies for 2017.
Prophet Olagunju, who accurately predicted President Muhammadu Buhari victory in the 2015 election, has revealed that the Nigerian president will be dethroned in 2019 election by former vice president Atiku Abubakar, The Sun reports.
The man of God, in a 52-point prophecy for the Year 2017 also foretold the possibility of the country splitting into five as he claimed to have foreseen, “the map of Nigeria torn into five,” saying, “no amount of peace talk can prevent Nigeria’s disintegration. It is a matter of time.”
He predicted that the Igbo’s desire for Biafra nation has received divine approval.
Below are his prophecies for Nigeria in the year:
1. As revealed by the Almighty God who will never share his glory with mortal man, the present generation of Nigerian leaders in the likes of Obasanjo, Babangida, Gowon, Danjuma, Abdusallam and Buhari will pass away before the emergence of the Messiah that will lead Nigeria to the promise land. The problem in our Nation will be so much that what we are witnessing now will be a child play to what we will see and hear and there will be chaos and distrust all over the nation as a result of which the messiah will emerge.
This messiah, an unknown person, will proffer solutions (to the problems); conduct referendum and will break Nigeria peacefully. As revealed to me further by the creator of the universe, the reign of this messiah will be brief. God of Abraham has concluded in heaven to raise for Himself the young man who will give divine solution and execute God’s programme for Nigeria.
2. There is going to be serious fight between Obasanjo and Buhari as revealed by God Almighty.
3. Notable chieftains of the APC and the PDP who are talking of 2019 without due reference to God will not live to witness that year.
4. There is going to be rowdy session in the National Assembly in the coming year.
5. The present war against Bola Tinubu will continue but many of those fighting him will come back to eat their words.
6. God again revealed to me that Nigeria is seriously sick and that the only drug that can cure her is National Repentance Prayer. Failure to do this, God says Nigeria will continue to wallow in problems. God warned Nigerians not to look up to their leaders for solutions but to God Almighty as they have none to their problems.
7. God of heaven says He is angry with President Buhari because of his failure to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians but instead adding to it. God says Buhari’s government is like a weed on the surface of the Atlantic Ocean.
8. God says those who think the PDP is dead are making a mistake as He [God] does not work in the counsel of men but in the reasoning of His words. God says the party will bounce back and its members in the APC will return to their original house.
9. The present rumpus in the APC will continue.
10. The Nigerian nation will continue to experience hardship unless serious steps are taken to seek the face of God.
11. Nigerians should pray for Buhari against high blood pressure, liver and kidney problem as the President is sick.
12. God says that He deliberately raised Donald Trump of America to execute His judgment on America for their sin of homosexuality being propagated by Obama/Hillary Clinton. God says Trump will at a stage behave like an anti-Christ.
13. God says the Yoruba nation will unite and rise again.
14. There is going to be sharp misunderstanding between Buhari and Osinbajo as a result of political differences.
15. God says any party that fields Buhari for the 2019 presidential election will be fielding liability as his candidacy will make the party lose the election. God says this will be so because Buhari has disappointed God by his failure to carry out His instruction as published in my 2016 predictions by national dailies to “wage war against corruption, execute God’s fierce judgment on those who sinned against God by looting as well as for his failure to demonstrate love to the poor by alleviating their suffering. God says for these reasons, He has torn his government and given it to another man after His heart to rule Nigeria. God says Buhari will continue to have problem till his last day in Aso Rock and people will continue to hate him because of his failure to rule with the fear of God.
16. To show the extent to which Buhari’s disappointment is grieving God, God says he has rejected Buhari just like He did to Jonathan and even his people the Hausas will reject him come 2019. In the presence of Almighty God as revealed to me, Buhari have become a complete disappointing king/failure just like king Saul in the bible.
17. God says the name Atiku Abubakar will continue to ring like a bell. He will be so popular among Nigerian politicians to the extent that many will root for him.
18. God says should Atiku Abubakar contest the 2019 election, he will defeat Buhari hands down.
19. The 2018 Governorship election in Ekiti state will cause a sharp division in the APC camp because of the inordinate ambition of some of their self-centred leaders. The party in the state will break into three factions as revealed to me by God.
20. God says the APC is being faced by three major problems of backbiting, unnecessary petition against former leaders and total hijack of the party structure from pioneer members.
21. Tambuwal and David Mark will be drafted to contest the 2019 Presidential election but God says the cabal of our nation will prefer Governor Tambuwal of Sokoto state.
22. Nigerians should pray against fire accident in the coming year.
23. God says that except that the Nigeria nation repent of the sin of its leaders who killed innocent souls, sin of FESTAC ’77 and sin of corruption which placed the country under the curse of the Almighty, the country’s problem will continue.
24. Prophet T. B. Joshua should pray seriously to avert sickness.
25. General T. Y. Danjuma should also pray against sickness.
26. God says I. B. B. will continue to remain in sickness.
27. God says for Buhari to have taken the problem of Nigeria to Kaaba in Mecca as if there is no God in Nigeria and rather than motivate the entire nation to fast and seek the face of God, He [God] will continue to raise adversaries against his government and Nigerians will continue to hate him.
28. God again warned that should the APC field Buhari in 2019, the broom will be broken and thrown into fire just like I predicted to PDP in 2014.
29. God Almighty says President Buhari is too rigid and stubborn. God says the President has set aside His mandate for him to cleanse the nation of corruption. God says He is only giving the President the grace to motivate Nigerians for special repentance prayer.
30. Serving ministers in Buhari’s government should watch their steps as the President is set to drop some of them and reshuffle his government.
31. God says Governor Aregbesola of Osun state will continue to swim in problems until he gets out of office as a result of the recognition he gave to the Osun Osogbo idol.
32. God says he will inflict those who loot Nigeria treasury with sickness. They will henceforth be inflicted with dreaded sicknesses that will lead to untimely death unless they repent.
33. God says Goodluck Jonathan will never win any election again in Nigeria as a result of his sin against the Almighty.
34. God says 2019 election will be tougher than the 2015.
35. The executive and the National Assembly will go on a serious collision course in the coming year. Buhari should be careful lest he is accused of non-implementation of budget.
36. Nigerians should pray for Awujale of Ijebu land.
37. Those who say the Biafra nation will not materialise are dreaming for the Igbos have taken their case to the creator of the universe and He has granted their heart desire.
38. PDP will bounce back to become a formidable party in Oyo state again.
39. Buhari should watch his steps to avoid impeachment.
40. As revealed by God, should Buhari fail to take it easy with the people of the South-South and South-East and go ahead to use military power, Nigeria may go to civil war.
41. As revealed by God, a new generation of military officers will in future overthrow the government of Nigeria to clear the rot perpetrated by reckless politicians.
42. Before 2019, there will be amalgamation of political heavyweight and political party that will give the APC sleepless nights.
43. The on-going war against corruption will soon lose value as the President will bend the rules and soft pedal because of inordinate and self-interest.

SOURCE : http://www.femtomax.com/2017/01/prophet-says-atiku-will-defeat-pmb-in.html

44. A prominent artiste will fall sick in the coming year.
45. Nigerians should pray for Baba Sala.
46. Come 2019 general election, PDP will fight the APC to a standstill.
47. APC should forget about winning 2019 election for another government will emerge that will probe their government.
48. Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode should be prayerful to avoid being at loggerhead with the elite. He should also pray to avert sickness.
49. Another strong party will emerge before the 2019 election.
50. God Almighty who revealed to me in my 2015/2016 prediction that Buhari is not the Messiah says the promised Messiah will use his mandate to settle all problems confronting Nigeria. The said Messiah will conduct a referendum so as to peacefully break Nigeria without civil war.
51. God says three out of the four pillars that are holding the APC have broken down as a result of their greed, inordinate ambition, stubbornness, favouritism, tribal and religious sentiment and therefore their days in government are numbered.
52. God revealed to me and I saw the map of Nigeria torn into five, by this no amount of peace talk can prevent Nigeria’s disintegration. It is a matter of time.

Politics / Union Asks Niger To Pay Workers Full Emoluments by femtomax: 8:19pm On Dec 31, 2016
The Academic Staff Union of Colleges of Education, Niger State branch, has called on the State Government to pay its members emoluments fully to avert brain drain in 2017.‎
Alhaji Haruna Baba, Chairman of the union, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna on Saturday that the institution was losing academics to other institutions outside the state.
He said union members were supposed to receive 53.3 per cent ‎enhancement on their Harmonised Tertiary Institution Salary Structure (HATISS), and 17 per cent as academic allowances.
Baba said academic staff members were receiving only 15 per cent as against the 53.3 per cent of HATISS, which was implemented after several struggles.

According to him, some colleges of education have started to benefit from the approved emoluments.
“This salary enhancement we are asking for is to enable us to continue research in our various fields as recommended by the National Commission for Colleges of Education.
“As academic staff, you cannot get promotion unless you engage in writing of conference papers for presentation.
"These paper presentations can be local or international and can only be achieved when we receive adequate emoluments.
“But here, we are being underpaid. Promotion is based on our work, but we need money to perform and achieve this height,” the union leader said.

The government of President Muhammadu Buhari is to spend a whooping N100 million on kitchen utensils in 2017.
This is part of the breakdown of the 2017 budget of growth and recovery which the president presented to a joint session of the National Assembly on December 14.
The Sun reveals that a breakdown of the N42 billion budgeted for the State House in Aso Rock, shows that food, cooking gas and kitchen utensils would gulp over N850 million.
The report specifically highlighted that N100, 820,300 is to be spent on the purchase of kitchen utensils such as forks and knives for use in Aso Rock.
The budget, according to the report, further shows three expenditure items that relate to food and feeding.
It gave these as food stuff and catering materials, purchase of canteen and kitchen equipment and cooking gas.
While kitchen utensils will gulp N431 million, food stuff and catering materials will get N360 million and cooking gas will N63 million, according to the budget breakdown.
It also states that the president’s office got N114,967,140.00 for food stuff, N100,820,300 for kitchen utensils and N21,600,000 million for cooking gas.

Food and its related expenditure for the office of the Chief of Staff got N16,282,000 as the Lagos Liaison office of the presidency will also spend N140,418,300 on food.
In its own report, Premium Times said if the amount is approved by the National Assembly, it would mean that in three years, the presidency has spent half of a billion on catering items minus food and cooking gas.
This amount, which it gives as N420 million, is enough to reverse the severe malnutrition that children in internally displaced persons camp are facing in the country as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency.
Apart from this, the report said the amount can provide at least 20 basic health centres at N20 million each.

Politics / DSS Arrests 23 Terrorists, Kidnappers Across Nigeria by femtomax: 7:17pm On Dec 30, 2016
The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the arrest of some suspected terrorists, kidnappers and dare-devil armed robbers in some states of Nigeria.
Many of the suspects, according to findings by NAIJ.com, are from the northern part of the country.

A statement released by the spokesperson of the security agency, Tony Opuiyo, on Friday, December 30, 2016, for example, revealed that it arrested the trio of Abubakar Musa, Ismail Musa and Suleiman Mainasara, on November 29, 2016 at the Aduwawa area of Benin city, Edo state.
“Prior to their arrest, they were members of a kidnap gang that terrorised commuters and residents of communities along the major highways between Edo and Kogi states,” the DSS said.
On November 30, 2016, the DSS further said it arrested one Ibrahim Adamu and three of his associates whose names were given as Umar Abubakar, Ibrahim Salisu and Abdullahi Abubakar in Ibillo village in the Akoko-Edo area of the state.
According to the secret agency, these four belong to a larger gang that carried out their acts along the Kogi-Abuja road.
On 20th December, 2016 at Katsina-Ala town in Benue state, the DSS said suspected kidnappers comprising one Ernest Benze, Terkura Tyokishir alias Mpoto, and Anun Aondona, identified as members of the Terwase Akwaza kidnap syndicate, were arrested for complicity in abduction incidents in the state.
“Furthermore, one Usman Sanusi Musa aka Keke, a notorious kidnap kingpin, was intercepted by the service on 15th December, 2016 at Sabuwar-Kaura village in Doguwa LGA, Kano state. Musa is a high-profile criminal who, in conjunction with other criminal associates of his gang, has been terrorizing residents and communities in Bauchi, Kaduna, Kano and Plateau states.
“In continuation of the fight against terrorism, on 30th November, 2016, three suspected Boko Haram fighters namely Samaila Muhammed, Sanusi Musa and Hudu Muhammad were arrested at Dirbunde village of Takai LGA in Kano state.
“The trio had perfected plans to carry out series of coordinated attacks with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in selected states of the north-west zone in the month of November, 2016 to disrupt festive activities during the end of year and the new year of 2017,” the statement said.

SOURCE : http://www.femtomax.com/2016/12/dss-arrests-23-terrorists-kidnappers.html
In a related development, operatives of the service said they arrested Sani Digaru, along with one Mohammed Ali, on December 25, 2016 along Gombe-Dukku road, Gombe.
His arrest was reportedly sequel to an earlier intelligence that he was in possession of cash worth N2 million meant for the coordination of a terrorist operation in Yobe and Bauchi states.
He was reportedly fataly injured when he wanted to escape.
In Abuja, the DSS arrested some suspects who specialized in robbing visiting foreign residents/customers of luxury hotels.
“For instance, on 5th December, 2016, the gang robbed an expatriate in a high brow hotel in Abuja and carted away his money and other valuables.
“However, acting on actionable intelligence and with the support and cooperation of sister agencies and the hotel management, the service arrested one Ikechukwu Obadlegwu and Ikechukwu Joseph Eke.
“While Obadlegwu carried out surveillance on potential targets for the group, Eke was the alleged kingpin and mastermind of the whole operation.
“Also, at Gwaron Dutse, Kano Municipal, Kano state, Auwalu Abdullahi Yakasai, a notorious fraudster, was apprehended for allegedly defrauding Jaiz and Unity Banks of N100 million and N50 million respectively.
“The service also arrested one Bashir Shuaibu on 5th December, 2016 at Tsamiya village, Gezawa LGA of Kano state for obtaining money from unsuspecting victims through threat messages. He was arrested while in the process of defrauding another victim.
“On 28th December, 2016 about 0930 hours, at Ben Kalio Housing Estate, Damaturu, Moh’d Yusuf Daya, a 10-yearold boy was kidnapped.

Investment / Naira Scarcity: Nigerians Accuse FG Of Investing In MMM by femtomax: 6:47pm On Dec 30, 2016
Some Nigerians have accused the federal government of investing in the popular Ponzi scheme, MMM, following reports of scarcity of small naira denominations.
The accusations surfaced after sources in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) disclosed to the media that the apex bank failed to print small naira denominations for about a year due to the current economic recession.

The sources explained that CBN did not award contract for the printing of the notes such as N5, N10, N20 and N50 usually done abroad due to the high cost of printing the banknotes.

SOURCE : http://www.femtomax.com/2016/12/naira-scarcity-nigerians-accuse-fg-of.html

“The cost of printing N50 is almost the same as N1,000. Printing small denominations costs more than the value and with the present economic situation, it makes sense to print higher notes which can be done locally by NSPM," a source at the apex bank said.
However the CBN has denied the allegation that it had not contracted the printing of smaller denomination currencies since 2015.
The CBN acting director, corporate communications, Mr Isaac Okorafor, dismissed reports of scarcity of smaller denomination in the market.
But some Nigerians puzzled by the revelation have described the currency saga as an embarrassment to the nation.
Other commentators insisted that the scarcity was caused by the CBN investing in the MMM scheme.
Read reactions to the issue below:
Jacob Kingsley: "As you can see that everything in Nigeria now is politics. Always try to come up with excuse instead of doing the right thing to move the country forward. This is the first time in the history of Nigeria that the CBN stop printing low denomination currency because of festival. CBN is now MMM. There is Godooooo."
Hajara Ibrahim: "Tell us the truth... Una don carry our money do MMM. Una think say we no know."
LugaHe said: "The reason for the scarcity is as a result of stock piling of naira notes in private homes by politicians and public servants particularly the ex and serving governors and National Assembly members and treasury looters. r Ikenna Anozie: "Gcfr U guys were discouraging people to do MMM,but u carry our money do MMM...just tel us d truth,we will fogive u people."
On his part, Akinyemi Sunday suggested that the scarcity was caused by treasury looters who had prevented the funds from circulating.
"As a matter of fact the money which is kept away from the system and from circulation is far far far bigger bigger bigger than the volume of money in the economy. Tooooooooo muuuch money had been stolen and kept away leaving the economic with stroke. Remember the judges and what was found in their homes.
"The politicians and criminals who gave them are having 99% of what they gave them in underground floors and isolated houses built for hiding money. This is the naked truth which the CBN knows but cannot tell us."
Gabriel Jerry sounded puzzled by the issue when he said: "Are you saying that you couldn't afford to print out smaller denominations? The central bank of the most populous country in Africa cannot afford to print her notes ? I reserve my comments."
Another group of commentators vented their anger on the Buhari administration over the issue:
Chidimma Claribel: " Hmmm, first in history to hear this type of story!which way Buhari?which way Nigeria?"
Zulu Donatus: "Upon the produced number of of barrels of oil increased . Jokers. Buhari wants to finish the oil before he steps down including the money he is taking from people. Nigerians would realise what we are talking about Buhari very soon."
n due to th
Mercy Ihuoma: "That's rubbish. Other countries still use the least of the denominations of their currencies. Story for the gods!!!" Government of Lies and Deception."
Alo Kelechi: "That is the change."
Prisca Uj :"All happening under Buhari's watch."
Nedum Bright: " Nigeria in a deep mess under this wicked regime."
Meanwhile, Nigerians across the country have continued to groan over the failure Automated Teller Machines in most banks to dispense cash.
And in cases where banks are operating, customers have relayed experiences of being told to keep their withdrawals within a certain range of amount due to lack of cash.
Have you also experienced a cashless festive seasoe alleged insufficient funds in circulation?
Business / Naira Ends 2016 Low, Rated One Of The Worst Global Currencies by femtomax: 2:07pm On Dec 30, 2016
According to the report, The Naira was said to have lost 36.68% of its spot returns for the year.
The Nigerian equity market fared worst in the year, as the nation’s economy is set to contract in 2016 for the first time in more than 20 years.
This is because the capital controls deter foreigners from investing coupled with militants are blowing up pipelines, amongst other challenges.
NAIJ.com's check today, December 30, has shown that the local currency stay unchanged at the parallel market, as it still trades at N490/$1, one day to 2017.
The Naira also stayed low at N590 per pound and N502 per Euro at the parallel market.

Politics / Two APC Chieftains Sent To Jail In Edo State by femtomax: 12:08pm On Dec 30, 2016
Two chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state have been remanded in prison custody for alleged attempted murder by an Oredo magistrates court in Benin.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the party chieftains Osakpamwan Eriyo and Sunday Osagbona, were charged with the attempted murder of Chief Osaro Idah, secretary of the state’s APC.
The APC chieftains were arrested following a petition sent to the police by Chief Osaro Idah that they threatened his life
Eriyo is the state youth leader of the APC and chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association (RTEAN), while Sunday is the Ward 3 chairman of the APC in Oredo local government
The Chief Magistrate Mrs M. C. Ojobo, directed that both accused persons be remanded in Oko medium security prison after she ruled that the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the case.
Ojobo said the prison has proper health facilities and directed that the case file be sent to the Directorate of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
While in court, one of the accused persons, Eriyo had protested being handcuffed in the court room.
He said: “Am I a criminal? Did I kill anybody? Why are they charging me for attempted murder?
“I didn’t do anything. It is the governor that is oppressing me.”
Their counsel, Usunobun Evbayiro, urged the court to grant them custody in the police clinic because of their ill-health.
He said his clients were hypertensive, asthmatic and diabetic and need constant medical attention.
“The first accused person collapsed in police station. It was the police doctors that revived him.
” I urge you to use your discretion to order him to be kept in police hospital so that police doctors can attend to him. It is for him not to die in custody," he said.

The case was adjourned till January 13, 2017 for mention.
Prior their arraignment, supporters of the APC chieftains staged protests at the headquarters of the Edo state police command to demand their release.
The police, however, ignored the protesters and whisked the accused, under heavy security, to the court.
Similarly officials of RTEAN and suspected thugs attempted to storm the court room but they were barred by the police.
In other news, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state on Thursday, December 29, 2016 demanded the immediate resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari and other top officials in sensitive offices in his government.
Fayose said this just as he named the many problems that he said the president has refused to attend to while facing perceived enemies of his government.
According to him, Buhari has become directionless and facing issues not within his purview as president.

Properties / Fire Guts 50 Makeshift Houses In Abuja by femtomax: 7:11pm On Dec 29, 2016
Hundred of residents wept on Thursday as fire engulfed some parts of Dakibiu, a suburb in Jabi area of Abuja.
The fire which brought activities in the suburb to a standstill razed more than 50 makeshift houses occupied mostly by poor northerners.
Many of the occupants and traders were seen scrambling to salvage their goods and properties from the burning inferno.
Efforts by residents to put out the fire yielded little or no result as the fire was quick to spread around the wooden buildings, called ‘batchers’ by residents.

http://www.femtomax.com/2016/12/fire-guts-50-makeshift-houses-in-abuja.html

The arrival of the federal fire service officials could not help as all the buildings were already destroyed.
A motorcycle parts dealer whose shop was gutted wanted to jump into the fire but for the timely intervention of residents.
According to Yusuf Toka, a witness, “nobody knew what caused the fire, it started around 3:30 p.m. and was first noticed in the middle of the wood houses.”
An official of the fire service, who spoke in a haste while putting out the little remaining fire, said that the cause of the fire could not be ascertained yet.

The statement directed the sacked chiefs to handover the affairs of their respective council to the Directors of Administration and General Services, The Nation reports.
The government thanked the former council chiefs for their service to the state and wished them the best as they return to their respective jobs.
Though the statement did not disclose the ex-council chairmen offences it may not be unconnected with the budget crisis in their respective councils.
Jigawa state governor on Wednesday, December 28, met with some local government council chairmen till midnight and later directed the removal of the three council chiefs.
In August, 2016, Abubakar sacked the state commissioner for Land, Housing and Urban Development, Adamu Sarki.
The secretary to the state government said Badaru could terminate appointment of any political appointee if his service was no longer needed.

Politics / BREAKING: Boko Haram Leader In New Video Says Group Safe, Not Crushed by femtomax: 1:36pm On Dec 29, 2016
Boko Haram’s elusive leader Abubakar Shekau appeared in a new video on Thursday to dispute a claim that the jihadist group had been routed from its Sambisa Forest stronghold.
“We are safe. We have not been flushed out of anywhere. And tactics and strategies cannot reveal our location except if Allah wills by his decree,” Shekau said in the 25-minute video, flanked by masked armed fighters.
“You should not be telling lies to the people,” he said, referring to Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari who said on Christmas Eve that the extremist group had been defeated and driven away from the forest, its last known bastion.
“If you indeed crushed us, how can you see me like this? How many times have you killed us in your bogus death?” he asked.
It was not immediately clear where the new video was shot, but Shekau who spoke in both Hausa and Arabic said it was filmed on Christmas Day.
Shekau last appeared in a video in September where he disputed a claim by the Nigerian military that he had been wounded in battle.
He vowed to continue fighting on until an Islamic state was imposed in northern Nigeria.
“Our aim is to establish an Islamic Caliphate and we have our own Caliphate, we are not part of Nigeria.”
Buhari had announced that a months-long military campaign in the 1,300 square-kilometre (500 square-mile) forest in northeastern Borno state had led to the “final crushing of Boko Haram terrorists in their last enclave in Sambisa Forest”.

The government in Abuja and the military have frequently claimed victories against the Islamic State group affiliate but access to the epicentre of the conflict is strictly controlled.
That has made independent verification of official statements about victories virtually impossible.
Attacks have meanwhile continued, making claims of defeating Boko Haram questionable despite undoubted progress in pushing back the group.
The Boko Haram’s insurgency has killed at least 20,000 and forced some 2.6 million others to flee their homes since 2009.
The violence has sparked a dire humanitarian crisis in the region, with thousands of children facing the risk of famine and starvation.

Politics / Senate Slams APC For Allegedly Promoting Speculation Eromosele Ebhomele by femtomax: 2:30am On Jul 15, 2016
The Senate said it was shocked that despite having the majority of the members in the upper legislative chamber, the party could not confirm the alleged impeachment plot from senators who attended the meeting before it went out to comment on it.

Daily Post reports that Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, spokesman of the Senate, in a statement on Thursday, July 14, said: “We expected the party to at least explore all the options open to it to verify that piece of fabrication which is only the figment of the imagination of the writers and their sponsors.

“It should be clear to the APC leadership that if there is any truth to that story, it should have been credited to a particular senator who was at the executive session. “It is evident from our proceedings of yesterday (Wednesday) that the Senate itself was shocked that such a fabrication which constitutes a breach of the privileges of the senators was published and that was why we mandated our committee on ethics, privileges and public petitions to investigate the source and circumstances leading to the emergence of such a fabrication.” He advised the APC to always clarify the truth about any development in the National Assembly before taking a position noting that the party’s comment could heat up the polity.
