That was a trashy session! Both the interviewer and the guest exuded incompetence at engaging with national discourse. They sounded rather amateurish in questioning patterns, and depth of relevant responses. Opportunities for follow-up questions were hardly taken, the guest was rarely prevented from derailing by employing probing tactics.

That's not the work of a professional there, and that might have contributed to the shallowness of the guest's overall response.

It's a very tiring enterprise trying to be reasonable with most people in this country. They claim they are concerned about the terrible state of affairs of the country, but rather than profer some semblance of useful solutions, they resort to insults.

What's wrong in pointing out to an influential fellow Nigerian that his action on the global platform served the interest of the terrorists more than the safety and rescue of the abducted victims? Reno was even honest in admitting he made the same security miscalculation when he joined forces with others to protest the abduction of the girls abducted by Boko Haram back then. And he must have thought it an unpleasant task to correct an individual like Davido, who I strongly suspect of being socially selective in humility, lest other thoughtless influential figures follow suit, thereby further jeopardizing the real work of rescuing the victims.

As a detractor of the current government, you may not want to believe that efforts are being made day and night to save victims of all violent abductions, and that some fellow Nigerians are constantly taking the risk fully aware that they too may never make it back home like numerous security operatives that have fallen in battle. But the uncomfortable truth is that the most incompetent government in the world would not refuse to fight insurgency and other violent crimes.

It never stops to amaze me how some of us find it almost impossible to compartmentalize our thinking, ideas, emotions and sentiments in the face of facts - hard facts.

A "rogue" nation is suspected of nuclear capability. That is a genuine concern, especially when the leadership of the nation has been profiled as volatile, unpredictable or even murderous. To preempt any further nuclear development or non-nuclear attacks, a nation that is directly threatened by the capability resorts to modern but highly lethal guerrilla tactics including high profile assassinations without any regard for breaching borders of sovereign nations.

Then, a more powerful nation, a long-standing ally of the latter, launches attacks and destroys the nuclear capability of the potentially aggressive nation. And they announce to the whole world that the suspected nation no longer poses any "imminent threat". Yet, unprovoked attacks are sustained to cripple not only its military but also its economy. But it's not expected to fight back or else some Nigerians will continue to see the overwhelmed nation as a more or less terrorist organization, sponsor and enabler.

Let's remember that some people are not born as cowards no matter the stake or label others stick on them.

I think the solution to this current problem is for Nigerians to stage a protest that "No security in Nigeria, No elections come 2027". All Nigerians should make it known to this polithiefcians that even when the tenure of this current administration runs out without any end to insecurity the military must take over.

It is obvious that we can't fight this insurgency with our paforated compromised democratic system. The current situation is a war not dialogue and only the military answers that perfectly. What these polithiefcians are doing now is fighting cancer with paracetamol.

NOTE: It is time to put on hold party rulership in this country, let only an entity that can wage war against external and internal enemies take stage until we return to where we once belong.

Getting involved in a military coup is one of the simplest but surest ways to become infamous especially if the attempt failed before it had even had a slim chance of near-success.

There are people who rent hundreds of thousands of naira apartments, but they struggle every year to pay up. Sometimes they owe years of rents. Many would rather constantly get unending loans to live in "decent" flats.

Meanwhile, some of the people who humble themselves to live in a place like this, more often than not end up in their own houses. They're daily motivated to get their own homes. They rarely aspire to get a better accommodation other than their own house. In fact, many live in such houses as some kind of financial sacrifice for other needs. And it is not a miracle that many children raised in such houses and neighborhoods are not only streetwise but motivated to have a better life.

In conclusion for now, living in a house like this or starting your life in a house like this doesn't stop you from being successful, and doesn't mean you'll become a criminal or an immoral person.
