Which post office did you use? SULEJA? If yes give it like 2/3 more days, it would be re-routed.

If that is the case, I want to believe its someone's else mi account that is logged in there before u factory reset the phone. And this only possible on 2 occasions;

1. You bought the phone as a second hand, and the seller didnt remove the previously logged in mi account

2. The phone was stolen.

I dont think I can further help u.

Seun am not sure he stole the phone, I remember when he was asking around for a phone to buy last year. I feel number 1 might be the case here.

For the record, there is no way u can factory reset that phone without it requesting for your Mi account login. I have done factory rerset on my Xiaomi before, and everytime i tried doing that, my mi account details is always being requested. The qst now is, how come u did factory reset on the phone?

i bought it brand new, 24th of August 2018.

Truth is, i didn't really take this mi cloud thing seriously, cos i just believed they're not Apple.

The phone keeps showing me low memory that's why i just decided to format it as i don't really like the idea of using a memory card.

i remember activating this mi cloud something once, but i didn't really care to copy or save the number cos i just believe since its mine, i wont have a problem unlocking it.

Am trying to contact the seller on aliexpress if something can be done.

Don't even bother the seller as he/she will offer zero help, it's been over 8 months since you bought the phone right? Chances are, you didn't remember the email address you used in the first place. Try using the mail addresses you use very often, you might get joy.

The one on the screen of my device is 185xxxx whereas the one on my mi cloud is 184xxxx.

There is a problem somewhere, your case is so strange. Try to use your phone number let's see.

Surely if you were signed in via email, it would send you steps to recover your password via the email. Which sign-in method did you use?
