Hello there...

I have had a very humbling experience so far with my B1/B2 visa renewal application.

My application has been under admins processing since December 2016. Can you believe that??

Did a follow up interview in January.

Ddnt hear anything till around June, when I was asked to send in my passport..

After a few weeks, passport's returned back and asked to fill a DS5535 form and send back together with passport.

After another few weeks, passport is sent back. Nothing..

Several months later, was sent an email saying that the DS5535 form I filled wasnt readable and was sent a new form in email format to fill..

I filled that and sent, but still havent heard anything since then.

I sent a few follow up emails as reminder, but still no response.

This is 11months and counting, now I'm at my wits end.

Is there anything that I am not doing right??
Or is my case caught up behind a long and heavy backlog list?

Please kindly advise or help intervene in this case.

Hello fibonaci. If you have found an electronic form of the DS-5535 that should suffice.

Hi..

I got an electronic ds-5535 form online, filled it out and sent back with my passport just like I was instructed..

But now I got another email from the Consulate again instructing to fill the form online only, then print and send... Saying the hand filled isnt acceptable.

Unfortunately, I cant seem to access or open the file after downloading because of the format, its a (.far) file format.

I emailed them with the predicament, but not getting any response.

Could you kindly help please??

This is my issue: After a lengthy administrative processing, I got an email frm th Consulate to submit my passport.

I did that and after 3 weeks got another email from Consulate directing me to collect my passport frm GSS collection centre, fill out a (supplemental question) form that was attached to the email, then resubmit my passport together wt the form.

Unfortunately the attachment wouldnot open. I've tried to open it for days without any luck.

Email the consulate back informing them of my conundrum last week but I still havent gotten a response back.

However I noticed the name of the attachment (DS5535) and did some research on it and came across a form online thats called a DS5535 form and titled supplemental questions form.

I believe its the same form as the attachment that wouldnt open.

Do you figure I should fill that out and send it back together with my passport. Or what do you advise??

Hello fibonaci. Follow the instructions. If the instructions say to only to submit the passport, then only submit the passport. If you applied in Abuja, the case will be adjudicated in Abuja. You send the passport through DHL.

I've a few questions..

So after a lengthy administrative processing(221g) on a renewal application, I got an email with an invitation to dropoff my passport.

The instructuons dont say anything about submitting a 221g submission slip together with the passport.

So do I just submit the passport ONLY at the GSS Document Collection centre?? Without any other covering letter of sorts??


Also... Being that I was called in for a followup interview after the dropbox submission, the VO after informing me of the extra administrative processing on my application, handed me back my passport AND the DS-160 confirmation form that I filled, with my passport photo attached to it.. Is this normal or it was an om?ission


1) Do I submit the DS 160 which has my passport photo together with the passport.. Or just submit the passport alone with the Invitation letter for the passport dropoff??

2)Can I have someone submit the passport for me??

3)At the moment I happen to be in a state much closer to Lagos than Abuja. Is there an option to submit in Lagos instead.. (I made the renewal application from Abuja)..

Sorry for this long winded message. Its just that my application has pending for too long and I just dont want to be the cause for any more delays...

I want to ask a question..

I applied for a renewal of my expired non-immigrant visa thru the dropbox and was placed on Administrative processing.. After a week, was called for an interview and still placed on administrative processing after the interview, which was last week.

Today, I checked the status of the application and it was showed status updated date: 9th January, 2017... being today's date.

Just want to ask what this means.... Does this status update mean that the administrative processing has been concluded and I will soon be called to bring in my passport for the visa
