The first step to reclaiming your african origins is by expressing the eargeness to learn its language. That is a very easy phrase in Igbo. Now, use google translate. wink

Ok thanks dude.

I like the zeal you exude but please the study of Ifa is a lifetime thing which you can do. I just need to stress the importance of getting initiated into Ifa first and getting your own personal Ifa - that way you get into awo (Ifa circle) with many folks at your disposal to ask many questions and seek tutorials from.

Please be careful of con folks during your journey.

God bless.

Oh ok...
Yeah theres a church in los angeles that i wanna attend but i know i have to be serious.
So i have to b disciplined and focus...

@9jacrip you may be right. Maybe more popular would have been better. In the diaspora, many people believe Osun is the head of the Iyaami. I've heard Nigerian Yoruba debunk this belief by saying that Osun is an Orisa and as such is more powerful than the Iyaami, but that clearly can be up for a debate.

@Op I've only been studying Ifa-Orisa traditions for two years but I've never heard or seen a full list of Orisa. I don't know if it exists.

Youre alot like me .... I am gonna study ifa till i know all of dem.
Afro americans need to do the same.
Youre awesome.

You're welcome
Surely only an initiated Awo wit years of experience can list close to 100
It's almost impossible to know all 401

Maybe cus most of the 401 are usually compressed into one cult under one name...I think this process produces the pataki

There are others I have heard of but I don't know their roles eg Ayelala, Oro

Ok kool thanks man
Hey i wanna b ur friend...
Maybe we could chat....

lemme help with a little better accuracy. Femi is "beloved" or better "love me"
It's short for names like Obafemi - beloved of the King / the King loves me

Iyalode - mother at the helm of affairs

Oh ok...
Thanks i guess the website that i checked was misleading.
Thanks guy.

A romantic man knows what to say to a woman
to get her attention, you don't need to say
every word that comes to your mouth simply
because you want to impress a woman. It is
not by English please for those guys who think
speacking one rubbish which they don't even
know the meaning will make a girl fall go and
learn from the masters. When you meet a real
man, you will just know, they don't need to
talk much to get much all they simply do is
they just go stright to the point.

Give me an example of something a casanova mught say.

Why some ladies will remain single for life

Ladies now have choice, they can be married or decided to remain single for life. It is unfortunate that most of the ladies out there who have decided to marry and live a normal couple's live now behave like is their choice to remain single. There are a lot of single searching ladies whose the major source of their inability to get any serious relationship is their fault... Most of these ladies involved in one or two things I will like to talk about below..
1. Many African ladies will end up singles for life because of media exposure – it is so disheartening how a lady will glue her eyes on a mobile phone from morning to night, only to raise it up to focus on
television to watch another celebrity entertainment channel. Tell, what else will dominate this lady’s mindset aside how to live a fake celebrity life being promoted on television channels?

2. Many African ladies now dislike cooking and home chores just because they had been totally brainwashed by movies showcasing men playing the role of women in a family, and due to excessive exposure to modern media that promotes gender-equality in a destructive way that’s aimed at destroying the unique African family setting that made our previous African marriages everlasting and envious to the westerns. Now, with this attitude, how do you expect a African man to desire to marry when he knows he is only buying more headache and trouble than helper for himself?

3. Excessive makeup turns most decent and serious- minded men off- if you have observed, you will discover that most men dislike excessive makeup, and more don’t even like it at all; reason they often times discourage their true loved ones to do away with it cos it speaks ill of a lady even though so many men will applaud and pcomplement you for looking like an Egyptian mummy. A slight makeup is okay; but if you are out for marriage, try always to look simple and natural, it will attract better men, decent and serious- minded, except you are still living in your high school life and not thinking towards marriage.

4. Stop Giving Your Number Out To Every Joystick & Harry! No man would want to propose marriage to a lady whose phone is always talking and laughing with unserious calls. You may not be a playgirl, but he would judge you as one, and will likely flee at the slightest chance or disagreement.

5. You Don’t Bring Any Value Into The Life Of Men You Date or Are Dating- because your best friend married without contributing anything to the man that finally married her, doesn’t mean it will work for you that way. Think, work towards equipping yourself so that you can be a value and also add value to his life to convince him that you are worth committing to. Adding value to his life isn’t by giving him money, or material gifts, nope….good counsels, being his best friend, helping him attain his goals in life, lending him moral, mental and spiritual support, and by not just being a liability that only bring requests and problems to be solved.

The second one is sooo true.
