Politics › Re: Buhari Crushes Goodluck Jonathan In Early 2015 Independent Survey by Firefire(m): 8:54pm On Oct 16, 2014
[s]
asala1:
If the 2015 Nigeria presidential election were held today, General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress would crush the incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan, in a head-to-head contest by a whopping margin of 78% to 22, an unscientific online survey indicates.

The survey, run through an independent third-party service called POLL, was open for 24 hours, starting on Wednesday afternoon after Buhari formally threw his hat into the presidential ring.

The survey asked: "If the 2015 Nigerian presidential election were held today, with President Jonathan as the PDP candidate and Muhammadu Buhari as the APC candidate, who would win? Why?"

POLL, which conducted and counted the survey, does not accept repeat voting. During the 24 hours, 14314 people voted, with the result overwhelmingly in support of General Buhari, who at one point held an 80% support.
Respondents came from Nigeria, Canada, South Africa, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, UAE, Kuwait, Lithuania, Mauritius, India, Italy, Sudan, Australia, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Thailand.

As the poll went on, a robust debate was also held across social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook. While a majority of responses mirrored the survey results which supported Buhari, some also held that President Jonathan would take another term.

While the poll was not scientific or official, it was engineered to provide a point of discussion, one expected to intensify over the course of the coming months.

Note: The result of the poll was generated independently by participants, and calculated by POLL. It was not influenced by and does not reflect the views of SaharaReporters.

Ephemmm:
Though not a member of his church, but this is not a deceit, this picture is TB JOshua personified as opposed to what many are claiming here. I could remember I watched this live during my youth service on emmanueltv some years back.

Though I am not sure whether this programme is still in progress up till date but this scenario happened during the monthly programme being organized by his church for disables and handicaps.

What happened was that some disable from North who came for a monthly programme in Synagogue was trying to carry their gift items, but able people were just passing them bye without rendering any help.

TB Joshua in the midst of the accompanied crowd saw them and walked up straight to them to offer help, but his followers swang into action after they noticed that TB was about to carry the rice on its own head.

He rejected his followers' help and even tell them to put those rice in his head i. e. he personally helped the disables to drop their rice inside the vehicle they brought from their state to the programme. On the said day, all disable received a financial donation that was not less than 50k.

In fact, this scenario and other financial helps his church was rendering then touched me on the said day. But I wonder how people always rush to attack this man whenever he surface online.

If I could remember, he render financial help to a local football club in NIgeria and even give them some bag of rice each when they were being owed like 3 months salary and newspaper carried it: why can't we attack the media house like this as at then?

The irony of it is that some will be here turning themselve to Chief Justice of the Universe, but when it comes to the issue that involves Adeboye, Oyakhilome, Oyedepo, they will be defending them as if they have seeing them in heaven.

Is TB Joshua even aware of this picture on nairaland or any other social media? I am a christian but all these "religious worshipping" always baffles me. It is high time churches, mosques and religion leaders embrace high level of CSR policy which I admire about this church called synagogue.

Before this building colapse, a friend to a friend of mine working as a driver with Access Bank carried his boss to Synagogue to market TB Joshua and he gave the driver N30,000, an amount that is even greater than his net salary. But who publicise this information which I got directly from the beneficiary? Onazi and one or two players were discovered through Synagogue's team which comprises people of interfaith, can they forget this church?

Even if this man is Satan, who did God authorize to judge him? Christianity is like a earthly marriage which comprises no element of perfection, and no system/organization is 100% perfect.

God bless Nigeria, my beloved country!
I congratulate him and his

However,

Watch out ... They come to you in sheep's clothing

GMB predicted before 2011 election of bloodshed and over 800 Nigerians were KILLED
(http://www.hrw.org/news/2011/05/16/nigeria-post-election-violence-killed-800)

In an interview he granted to the Daily Sun (Sunday, 8 August 2010), Buhari predicted the outbreak of violence if the 2011 general elections

were perceived to be far from free and fair. In the interview, Buhari was asked: “Do you fear for the country, that if we don’t get it right

now…?” The interviewer did not complete the question before Buhari interjected, saying: “There may be no Nigeria…, because I draw

parallel with Somalia so many times. Somalia-sation of Nigeria; I am scared about that.”

The bloodshed was premeditated and was executed by supporters of the CPC. Buhari’s response to the violence was supremely inappropriate and disappointing, even though he reluctantly and belatedly criticised the violence days after it erupted.

Atiku came and is gone, Buhari came and was gone, ACF & NEF came and went, G7 came but took to their heels, Sanusi came but got disgraced, Ameachi and Nyako are today dejected men, even Obasanjo shouted but is left grumbling, Elrufai speak s today in hushed tones, Tambuwal has long retreated to his shell, Kwankwaso is now playing the victim....yet none entities are still hoping against hope.

Enjoyment1:
No insult intended...

Atleast I witnessed Shagari's civilian govt, talkless of the military regime of Buhari.

Its my own personal opinion...I used to like Buhari, until he became a politician. Before I go further, no one should mention any achievement during Buhari's regime, without mentioning Gen. Idiagbon. Idiagbon, was fully in charge of that administration, while Buhari is only receiving the praises today, becos he is the only one alife. It was when Idiagbon went for Hajj, that was when IBB succeeded. What does that mean?

Someone mentioned War Against Indiscipline and other achievements, and I ask, who started it? Was it not Idiagbon? Pls, note, I am telling you what we all went through, and not what my father, mother, uncle, or read from history books, as many are writing here.

This does not disqualify Buhari, becos with a good running mate, he can perform better. Even better than PDP led leaders. My problem with Buhari started when he became a politician.

Someone talked about PTF, and not stealing from govt covers. I wished I was using a desktop, I would have shown you the level of marginalisation in award of contracts by Buhari. It was 70% to the north, and 30% to the south. The records are there, pls. So, in place of stealing, he diverted.

I am aware of the above topic, but should comment like the above be coming from someone who wants to lead a multi-religious, multi-ethnic, and different group of people who were wrongfully married together by Lord Lugard?

Come to think of what, no sane would-be leader will speak in his local dialect after casting his vote in a national election (***check Buhari's comment after casting his vote in the last election in 2011***). The man openly spoke Hausa, with no interpretations whatsoever. What was the meaning of that? Was he vying to be President of Northern Hausa speaking Nigerians or Nigerians as a whole?

Just about two weeks ago. Atiku openly acussed him of being a religious bigot, and should not be voted for. Yet, he could not deny, or confirm it. What does that mean?

Even in our quest for peace, in North Eastern Nigeria, Boko Haram choosed Buhari, as their negotiating leader, and Mr. Buhari never said a word. Rather, he kept condenming the extra-judicial killings up north, and later cried foul, when thesame BH people tried killing him, in his convoy vehichle.

The case of openly telling Northerners not to vote non-Muslim during OBJ, is another careless talk, which is still fresh!

In summary, Buhari, needs to repair his image in Southern Nigeria, as his comments whenever he is amongst his muslim brothers, and general comments, are still fresh in peoples minds. Maybe when he is through, and he is not yet 100 years, he can come back and contest.
Well written... Thank you.

He however said his party members had finally resolved in their mind without being apologetic to anyone that the APC-CPC faction across the 57 council areas of the state was moving en-masse to PDP where they believe that the tenets of democracy is appreciated and practiced, and that they remain resolute in their determination to rescue Lagos come 2015 general elections.
