What advice can you offer as regards industrial training? And which of the certifications would you recommend for a graduate? And finally does a first class or a 21 hold any promises for the holder. In essence does it give the holder an edge?

I'm impressed with the depth of your experience. You've actually been around the block. Where are you currently employed? I truly hope you'll see this.

This thread is to become a forum where practising Electrical Engineers and the aspiring ones can interact. I fall under the aspiring group so I hope for a situation where the professionals can give us, the aspiring ones, an insight as to what is expected of us as graduates and what we can expect from the labour market. Feel free to post any related comments regardless of your level.

Depending on the course you're reading and the flexibility of ur school, the sky is ur limit.Dedication and hardwork is what anybody will tell you. But I believe that asides from these, a desire to proove to someone or some people is a very strong factor. I acquired my first class status just because I wanted to let people know that u dont have to be badly dressed and negligent of urself and social being all in the name of first class. You'll soon see for urself that 90% of first class students are guilty of this. I also wanted people to take me seriously. So my advice for u is to ask urself if u really want a first class cuz when u know what u want, getting it should be a piece of cake.

Hey y'all. I just thought I'd create a forum for the very few FUT Minna students that use Nairaland. Most of us are too involved in GP building or the stiff race for babes. I hope this thread is a success in the near future. I'll be coming around sometime soon and we can all talk about issues that affect us. Frustration Under Tension huh! Hopefully that'll change

Its been a tight season and it seems fate is on our side. The game play over the last ten games has been a little bit off target. We;ve survived via a string of 1-0 wins and terrible draws. At least Inter is topping the charts at striking distance of AC. Its 24 pts for inter and 23 for AC Milan. With the present squad and the chemistry building up we should be major contenders for the title this season. PS Disregard the rumours about shevy and kaka. They are going nowhere. Hopefully Beckham will get a permanent deal with AC considering he was left out of the England squad by Capello.

hey nairalanders! I am a student of FUT Minna and the question is; Is a first class degree worth it in our terrible economy. I am in 200L Elect/Comp Engineering and I am presently holding a first class GP and with every day that goes by I wonder if its worth it. The Irony of the Nigerian education system countinues to weigh me down. We keep studying formulas, equations, uses etc with no exposure to the actual applications of these theories. Lecturers are not helping matters either. So is it just me or there's something else to it. Becuase I cant help but think that even with a first class degree in a Nigerian Institution, one can not still make any difference.

I want to believe that my judgement is still being clouded with youthfull exuberance so honourable nairalanders let me know what you think. Adiose
