When Haaland was interviewed concerning his future, he said 3 major things will shape his next phase: a place where fans still watch the games in the stadiums to maximum capacity, a team where winning trophies was a habit and the opportunity to compete in the Uefa Champions League. You are just setting yourself up for heartbreak if you think Haaland will commit to any club that is not sure of qualifying for the Champions league let alone winning anything. Then if you think Haaland will receive €20M a year and play second fiddle to Mbappe who is reportedly going to receive €50M a year, you have a long thing coming. The reality is, Real Madrid cannot sign both Haaland and Mbappé in this coming window. Mbappé is their man for now. Forget his double-speak, he has all but committed 5 years of his life to Madrid. Haaland is currently stuck in limbo as only 3 teams can acquire him for now (based on his criteria) and one of them is in Germany playing with Lewandowski as their main man. The other 2 clubs are PSG and Manchester City. Real Madrid will only be able to get him in 2023 and sorry to say but Barca can neither acquire him now nor next season. Just put off your "fan mind" sometimes and be objective. It helps.

I don't know why most of our fans haven't seen this yet. I am not really bothered about his coming to Barca anyway. Hall and would be an excellent addition but then, if it doesn't happen, I won't be disappointed.

Personally, I want a team that can compete and become a team to beat in any competition. Building a team around one player has proven to be an Achilles heel for us, both portion wise and financially, and I for one wouldn't want the same to repeat itself again. But with a team competing for glory, we are sure to have trophies pouring in soon enough. Prioritizing our defense should be the ultimate plan now...

The thing is Villa's prime was actually at Valencia and for Spanish national team from 2006 - 2010. The Barca version of Villa was already on decline.

Eto and Suarez were big game players. Both scored regularly against Madrid, Atletico & Valencia . I think Villa only scored a single goal against Madrid while with Barca and in the UCL final.

Why can't we try to play Eric as a DM seeing how he loves to progress the ball and his knack for long balls. FDJ doesn't seem to have that capacity as it is and we need a DM ASAP.

Dembele should know he will be booed. He will leave the club through the back door and no fan will love him for donning the Barca shirt. He will be seen as a mercenary, who never loved the club. The fans will make sure to show him that the feelings were mutual.

If I were at Camp nou, I will join my voices with other fans to ensure he endured a miserable remainder of whatever is left of his doomed contract.

Thank you. Griezmann had these same issues early last season. We didn't crucify him this much in just a single game until it became recurring.

If one would remember Griezmann last season was getting all the best chances week in week out but failed to convert. There was a time we were swearing for him sef. Fast forward early last year and he was consistently scoring our match winning goals and saving us. We will remember what Koeman said that time that at least he was being in Positions where he's supposed to be. Confidence will come for scoring later with consistency.

Not even Neymar or Suarez blended in easily.

That is where the intelligence of a player comes in. If they are doubling up on you [Adama] it means you should exploit the channels with a pass since it means a barca player will be unmarked. That was what Dembele did when he came on. He was linking up quicker which was helping Barca find that open man which happened to consistently be Ferran. So the half full narrative is, if Barca creates high quality chances like this in the return leg, Barca will most probably win it.

You are being reasonable. If I was a Barca fan I would be angry with the missed chances but what emotional fans can't see is, Auba or Luke would not have made some of those openings because they would not have been positioned how Ferran was to get those chances.

I am.never going to dispute his positioning. It's apt. At some point I wondered why he was the only player receiving those crosses when he wasn't even the main striker. His build-up isn't talked about enough tonight. I just want this guy to become a beast already and his only option for doing that is to start scoring goals.

Adama played absolute nonsense today but you won't see it because he played well against Español. Sometimes playing well just involves releasing a pass quickly which he never did all game. On 2 occasions he would have released a pull out to Auba but he focused on trying to beat 2 players. But you Barca zealots won't see it because Ferran missed chances which only came up by the way because Dembele was doing all the things Adama could not do all game. And you wonder why Xavi took him off.

I saw those missed passes too and wondered if he didn't see Nico opening up for him.

Then again, the doubling up technique that Napoli employed at the beginning stages of the game kinda killed his tempo and got him too frustrated.

Jong is simply not organized enough. Playing box to box and back to his natural position isn't going to just come naturally. I hope he improves anyway.

In how many games prior to today have Barcelona created high quality chances? This team was in the doldrums and is just getting back to form. A player can also be nervous and less composed because he knows the expectations on him. If his issue was misplacing passes, not being available where chances should have been etc then one can be worried. Not in a game that a good finisher missed chances. That aspect can easily be fixed with consistency and composure.

As much as I am angry that he lost the chances to bury the game, you didn't see me crucifying him either. I am only concerned because I oerisbakky have high hopes to are him prosper in the Barca shirt.

Personally, I think Xavi should have subbed him out for Luuk DeJong rather than Auba. Maybe the latter would have buried those chances easily.

You are a pissy Barcelona fan. I watched this game because it was the only meaningful game currently going on. Most soccer lovers watched the game. Ferran missed chances which nobody is denying. Even the player was feeling bad after the game and you could see his teammates come to encourage him. He knows he shit the bed. But his overall game play was good and that should give you hope. There is not one Manchester City player in their current roster that finishes chances better than Ferran. Not Kevin, Mahrez, Sterling, Foden. Not one player. If you know any, name the player and I will show you misses from said player this season alone.

There's no denying that Ferran was a fine finisher in City and Spain. But the problem now is why he isn't replicating the same energy here.
