I have read reports about the news in which the Governor was allegedly asked to resign and pave the way for his Deputy to take over. While I do not believe the story is entirely false, there may be some elements of truth in it. It is also possible that it was deliberately leaked to Sahara Reporters for early publication without full details, in order to nip it in the bud.

I still regard Sahara Reporters as one of the best investigative media outfits in Nigeria’s political and media space, even though they sometimes receive incomplete or inaccurate information from their informants or sources.
