19CannyMum: https://www.nairaland.com/5854921/fg-halts-evacuation-200-nigerians from Canada We heard the news yesterday o. There are conflicting stories, on one hand Canadian govt hasn't given airpeace green light to fly Toronto to Alberta, then fly to Nigeria especially because its his first flight to the region. On the hand, Nigerian govt is saying no space for evacuees. How come we are getting to know all this a day to the flight, it's strange. I hope they will sort this out soon. |

Demiyike: Got this on one of my groups for those interested
*NNC SECURES PASSAGE FOR STRANDED NIGERIANS*.
Fellow NNC members,
About a week ago, it was brought to NNC that there are PRs and COPR holders stranded in Nigeria, who desire to come to Canada. Amongst them are those whose immigrant visas would expire as soon as next week. We requested for more information.
On the 4th of May, we received specific information in this regard and swiftly moved into action. The following offices were immediately contacted:
1. Nigerian High Commission, Ottawa, NHC. 2. Canadian High Commission, Abuja. 3. Mayor of Brampton. 4. Member of Parliament, Brampton Center. 5. Member of Parliament, Brampton West. 6. Global Affairs Canada, GAC.
We got responses from all offices, but the key leads were from the GAC and NHC, who outlined relevant paper work to be submitted and arranged for immediate evacuation respectively.

NNC is doing everything it can to help get our brothers and sisters home. We will keep you updated.
Uche Okugo. President, NNC. @demiyike @Influential101 Please can you assist with any contacts that can be reached for those who want to go back to Nigeria. The online form (in bold) is specifically for those who are leaving Nigeria and not those who want to leave to Canada. I called Airpeace no answer, called NHC ottawa, no response. Please who can we reach? Na soft landing won put me for wahala so... |
