AutoReportNG: The bad portion of Sango on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway has become so terrible that vehicles now get stocked in it. More worrisome is the fact that, it causes unimaginable gridlock on the supposed highway, thereby giving traffic officers - Police and TRACE, serious problem controlling it. One then wonders what the three tiers of government are doing. Perhaps, both local and state governments under whose jurisdiction the road falls in would be passing the bulk on the premise that it's a federal road, forgetting the huge revenue they both rake in from commercial bus operators and traders day-in, day-to-day. I can't just imagine why our government is so insensitive to the plight of the citizenry. See more pictures below..

Politics › Re: Reps Propose Six Months Jail Term For Anyone Who Distorts Queues by Flashmove: 11:45am On Jun 02, 2017 |
omusiliyu: A bill proposing six months imprisonment for persons who shunt or distort queues in public places on Thursday scaled second reading at the House of Representatives.
The Sponsor of the bill, Rep. Abubakar Amuda-Kannike (Kwara-APC), while leading debate on it, said that it sought to ensure that Nigerians conducted themselves orderly in public places.
Amuda-Kannike said that it was normal practice for some Nigerians to shunt or distort queues and go unpunished.
He expressed worry that recent events had shown that Nigeria was on the verge of losing its cherished sense of nationalism, cultural identity and hospitality.
“The bill underscores the need to re-awaken a derailed national culture by proposing disciplinary measures to guide Nigerians in their daily behaviours.
“In our society today, out of total disregard for other persons, who strive to do the right thing by conducting themselves orderly in public places, a large number of Nigerians distort queues and go unpunished.
“The bill if passed shall provide a starting point of value and cultural re-orientation in Nigeria,” the lawmaker said.
He expressed optimism that the bill if passed, future generations would have a more sane society that would help to shape morals, principles and respect for each other in addition to adequate awareness on what constitute nationhood.
He decried the prevailing level of corruption, indiscipline, disrespect to elders and the rule of law in the country.
“The bill underscores the need to re-awaken the derailed national culture by proposing disciplinary measures to guide Nigerians in their daily behaviours.
“Any nation that is not organised cannot have rapid growth.
“We should be seen as organised people from point of entry but we have accepted that anything goes.
“Every school should have civic education in its curriculum to instil patriotism and orderliness in the country,” Amuda-Kannike said.
Contributing, Rep. Sam Onuigbo (Abia-PDP) said that the bill would also ensure orderliness, equity, fairness and justice in the distribution of services in the country.
“It will be nice for us to be seen as orderly people from the point of entry into the country,” Onuigbo said.
Rep. Ayo Omidiran (Osun-APC) said “by being orderly in all our activities, we will be transmitting good behavioural pattern to generations and this will promote a better society”.
After the debate, the bill was passed for third reading through a unanimous voice vote.

This is stupidity to the law makers, we have digital queues in other countries. From the bank to other public places.
When you come , you press a machine and the machine will print out your queue number. You don't have to queue on someone's back.
All you need to do is to wait for the machine to call your number.
What is really wrong with Nigerian digital system? Am really ashamed that our law makers swallowed their shame trying to pass this into law when Nigeria have other pressing needs that the law makers should look into. Shame to Nigerian Law makers. |

DilaRocks: Please Is This True About Private Universities?
Good morning everyone, please Is it true that if one attends a private University if not covenant that it will be hard getting a job later on in future as most companies only accept graduates from good public universities and then for private if not covenant universe then forget it?
I am asking this question because I didn't pass this year's jamb so I decided to enroll in a private University around my region, Delta state, the University is western delta university but lots of people discouraging me that private uni is only good for girls and not boys, to make matter worst my sisters said most good paying company only accept graduates from covenant only if it's not public uni,
please I need advise from experienced ones here, if I enroll in this private uni will I have a hard time securing a job later on in future? Hello, don't go to university to search for a job, Go to university , get knowledge and employ people. I graduated from Unzik 8 years ago, I never worked for someone, rather I saved money and opened my own business, now I have 14 workers whom I am paying salaries every month. The mentality of some Nigerians is to get express work after graduation. Thus making us to be lazy and visionless. |

Business › Re: South East Businessmen Don’t Repay Loans, Bank Of Agriculture Laments by Flashmove: 7:42am On Jun 01, 2017 |
soldierkunle: The Bank of Agriculture has decried the alleged unwillingness of South - East businessmen to repay loans . A representative of Bank of Agriculture ’ s South - East Zonal Office , Enugu , Mr Aaron Obigbo , who spoke at a workshop organised by a research institute , the Development Strategy Centre, Enugu, raised the alarm over the high rate of loan defaulters among borrowers in the South - East . The workshop themed , “ Pro - poor growth , unemployment and poverty in Nigeria : A South - East agenda ” , was organised in partnership with the African Economic Research Consortium , Kenya. Speaking at the workshop , Obigbo said the Bank of Agriculture was faced with challenges that stemmed from the unwillingness of its borrowers in the South -East to pay back loans obtained from the bank . Obigbo also disclosed that businessmen usually disguise as farmers to approach the bank for loans in the zone. He said , “ Our (South - East ) businessmen come to the Bank of Agriculture and borrow money and they will not repay . “ Some will collect inputs and sell them . They collect these inputs as farmers but they are not farmers . “ The man in the North will collect loans from BOA and pay back but our big men from the South - East collect this money and don ’t bother to pay back . ” Obigbo also decried the inability of state governments in the South - East to take advantage of various schemes initiated by the bank , particularly the Anchor Programme, to better the lives of the people in the region . According to him , while states in the northern part of the country are maximising the opportunities provided by the Bank of Agriculture , many states in the South - East are yet to identify with the bank . Obigbo urged South - East governments to utilise the funding opportunities provided by BOA, and also abide by the institution’ s terms and conditions . The Managing Partner of the Development Strategy Centre, Dr Cosmas Ohaka , in a paper presented at the workshop , noted that the steady growth recorded by the Nigerian economy between 2000 and 2015 did not lead to a decline in the level of poverty in the country within the period . He said , rather , the poverty level continued to rise, despite the recorded economic growth . “ Available data show that every region witnessed a rise in poverty incidence between 2000 and 2015 — the same period that Nigeria recorded steady growth . “ This seems to indicate that increase in economic growth does not automatically translate to decline in poverty incidence in any of the regions in Nigeria ,” Ohaka said . He pointed out that people with low education are unlikely to benefit from economic growth . He said , “Even if growth continues for the next couple of decades , some people will still not benefit from it due to their level of education that makes them unemployable . ” http://punchng.com/seast-businessmen-dont-repay-loans-bank-of-agric-laments/ Igbo men don't repay loans and you keep giving them loan. Hausa saints are not loan defualters. Praise God that you gave loan to those whom you know that will not repay. Please am coming to borrow and I will not repay. Am proud to be an Igbo man we are wise. Biafra the Land Buhari can not enter until he goes below 6ft. |

fastestshipper: I finally got my borehole done 2-3 weeks ago. It was a difficult thing to do. I did 3-4 surveys and compared. Some saying low yield and some saying medium or high yield. I worked with a nairalander who was a pain in the ass in the beginning but got it done at the end but jury still out because we have not really used the water much.
I also did three wells on my property that cost me more than 450,000+ in case the borehole doesn't hold up.
My borehole cost 530,000 + 30,000 (90,000) for doing survey three times.
Total depth for my borehole: 333 feet.
Water level: Medium yield with 0.75hp Rock Pump installed. Some Nairaland contractors are gullible , they can inflate quotes as if its government contract. A work a Nairalander quoted 1m was actually done 400k by a local artisan. |

I created my last thread basically for three reasons..
.to catch fun
.to encourage fellow ladies to be hardworking and independent. .
.to erase the mentality of tagging every women "olosho" but fortunately for me...the thread turned out to be another golden opportunity. ..
many nairalanders contacted me..but 40% turn out to be prospective clients...I met this particular nairalander on the 18th of this month..we went to his site together at dalemo before sango..the land is just an half plot(60ft×60ft). .but I promised to come up with something nice..just yesterday morning..I sent him these presentation drawings. .he was amazed..and immediately asked for my professional fee..I told him..to my surprise. .he requested for my acct number and 45minutes later..I got an alert (Godwin)...
The most amazing thing is that he deducted just a little out of the amount I requested for..and asked me to go ahead with the working drawings. .. I am so glad..not only becoz of the money..but the fact that something beautiful like diz came up from nairaland...
NOTE... .. he personally asked me to paste the drawing here incase some people might want to incorporate their own ideas before I finish the working drawings. .
thanks to my client. . (smiles) and to all viewers. .looking forward to your beautiful ideas and annoying critism one love.... Need to be born again so that I can marry this lady. I love positive women. Not those that wants to be a house wife. Smart ladies rocks. Keeping the spirit on. God will bless you beyond your imaginations. |

tyokunbo: Source:http://towncrieronline.net/2017/05/29/stray-bullet-from-fleeing-hoodlums-kills-undergraduate-along-biu-road-ugbor-benin-city/
Multiple news reports state that sporadic gun fire along BIU road in Ugbor, Benin city claimed the life of an undergraduate, Tobi Igioh.
Am going to heaven to see if he has arrived. Cause he's a pastors son. He must have no excuse not to be in heaven now.
The deceased, the only child of the former General Manager of Edo Broadcasting Service, Pastor Mrs Sidi Lawal -Igioh, was hit by a stray bullet when the hoodlums were trying to escape after they had successfully robbed some shops in the area around 6.30 pm.
Other persons injured in the attack are now receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital, with the police on the trail of the hoodlums.
As shared by Becky ....
I just heard this very sad news;
Pastor Sidi Lawal-Igioh's only child, Tobi has passed on...
They say he got hit by stray bullet.
Oh! This pain....
This grief...
The devil is a liar forever!
Dear God, console your daughter and her husband.
Holy ghost, comfort this family. Give them the strength to march through and march on.
Listen, Tobi is in a better place and as we cry, let's remind ourselves of this all important fact.
All will be well. Surely! |
