CEO – Like most people, I had gone to Amazon as my first port of call. But if you type ‘First time CEO’ into the books category, the result is more akin to 50 Shades of Grey. Useful perhaps, but not in the way I had hoped! This is the first time I’ve written a blog so I have no idea how frequent I will be able to do it, nor how useful/relevant it will be. However, 5 weeks in, here are some thoughts… 50% of what I thought on day one was wrong By inference, 50% might still be correct. However, half of what I thought on day one has turned out to be wide of the mark and each day that passes, I learn more about the business and the industry, ensuring I am able to see more clearly and make better decisions. Don’t get me wrong – instinct is a good thing and sometimes you don’t have enough data or have enough time to make a completely insightful one. But it is easy to feel overconfident, and a little more learning shows that overconfidence is often misplaced. The urge to do things straight away is almost irresistible Michael Watkins wrote in his excellent book “The First 90 Days”, that new leaders must https://www.mediaparrotng.com/2018/01/tips-first-time-ceo-5-weeks.html/

After watching several videos emanating from the concocted Anambra primaries, I'm shocked that PDP is yet to learn their lessons with regards to imposition of ALIEN candidate SHAME! This is an opportunity for makarfi to right the wrongs promptly |
Fiery Prophet Iyke Uzukwu, the spiritual head of Soul Revival Ministries, Okpuno-Egbu, Umudim-Nnewi, Anambra State who prophesied that Muhammadu Buhari would emerge victorious, peers into the future and tells ODOGWU EMEKA ODOGWU and ISAAC OJO that whoever is telling Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra that the Awka Government House is not vacant must be lying and that he should reconcile with Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah and former Governor Peter Obi or forget a second term From human history, prophets are hardly associated with diplomacy. They deliver their messages bluntly - even at some danger to themselves. Prophet Iyke Uzukwu, the spiritual head of Soul Revival Ministries, Umudim-Nnewi in Anambra State, is no different. Prophet Iyke Uzukwu was one of the very few preachers who against all odds prophesied that Buhari would emerge victorious in the last presidential election. His words: “I prophesied about President Buhari’s victory and even sent words to the former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan not to run but he wouldn’t listen. Last year I prophesied that things would get hot as inflation would rise.” Today, he is stressing the need for President Muhammadu Buhari to empower local producers and manufacturers. The Spiritual Head of Soul Revival Ministries however urges Nigerians not to despair as things would get better from March next year. He however stresses the need for the people to be prayerful so that they would not miss out when Nigeria gets to the Promised Land. According to him, there is urgent need for all and sundry to embrace agriculture. Opening up to The AUTHORITY, he stated, “I prophesied that a lot of looters would return stolen funds, people did not listen. But at a time like this, it is imperative for President Muhammadu Buhari to do the needful and encourage local manufacturers and industrialists before banning the importation of essential items. The dollar rate is too high and that is not good for business. The president has a good plan for Nigeria but seems to be doing right things at the wrong time. Joseph in the Bible counseled Pharaoh about impending starvation. Buhari should have make things easy before the dollar rate is raised, in his one year agenda. There should plenty to produce then he can then take the step of banning importation, you don’t ban things not produced in the country. “He should encourage local manufacturers before banning importation. Electricity is nightmare in Nigeria. If things will normalize, the government should work on electricity. Do you know how many liters of fuel banks and industries burn on daily basis; this is not good for the country. If it is only electricity problem his administration can solve, he should face that. It is not a matter of how big the agenda is.” Prophet Uzukwu also wants President Buhari to look into the police force, as many of the men and officers are high-handed while doing their job. He noted that the standard practice all over the world is that of a civil police force. According to him, “SARS offices across the country have become torture centers where the innocent are intimidated into submission and made to pay their way out to freedom. The officers carry on as if they are above the law just to make more money, people are held perpetually without trials contrary to the stipulation of the constitution that suspects should not stay in detention for more than twenty four hours, people now sell their land and other valuable properties to bail their children and loved ones who are unlucky to be arrested by SARS operatives. The fiery pastor however urged the federal government to improve on the welfare of policemen and encourage them while carrying out their duty of securing the society because according to him, some of the policemen are really suffering. “I recently saw a widow of a policeman who died in line of duty. She was suffering untold hardship and she even confessed to me that all the promises made by police authorities during the burial of her late husband are yet to be fulfilled many years after. That is not a good testimony for the police force; government should work on that. “I want Buhari to be very careful with a bunch of cabals who are trying to run down his government. He should look inside and do the needful before it becomes too late. Cabals are trying to run his government, they are insiders; he should look inwards. The preacher also cautioned President Buhari against probing the former president Dr Goodluck Jonathan and his wife because noting that such venture would not end well. “He should concentrate on the war against Boko Haramists. He should leave Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and wife alone. He was not the first president. No one goes to the stream and start bathing from the waist, you start from the head. Any attempt to prosecute the former president would aggravate the tension in Niger Delta. Ninety percent of the nation income comes from Niger Delta, there is need to be careful with them, they are connected to different powerful nations and individuals. The man of God who prophesied that in the middle of last year that judges would be probed, said that the nation’s judiciary is just bad. “You keep hearing about these corrupt judges; there are cases they have not judged in five years while the innocent are languishing in jail.” He however criticized the manner and approach with which the judges were arrested saying that due process should have been followed in the attempt to fish out corrupt judicial officers. He attributed the approach to the president’s military background which he said the National Assembly should checkmate. His words: “The manner of arrest of the judges has to do with the president’s background as a military man. The National Assembly should work on the excesses and ensure due process is followed. But any judge found guilty should face the music. The fiery pastor while commenting on the administration of Chief Willie Obiano, Anambra State governor said, “I won’t tell you I am satisfied with Obiano’s performance. I see Willy is working on T-shirts, face caps, billboards, cars and buses but we are Anambrarians. You don’t have to advertise to us that you are working. Fashola never advertised his years as a governor of Lagos state but what he did has become a living legacy. “Willy Obiano should finish the roads initiated by his predecessor. Many roads Willy flagged off are not yet done. His words should be his bond and the one tarred by previous government should be maintained. They are getting bad. The people want to see and feel the impact of his government and not hearing the songs of his performance. “Obiano is trying for paying workers salaries; he is equally trying in the area of security but things have deteriorated at Upper Iweka area of Onitsha and there is a spill-over effect in Nnewi as people are now robbed in broad day light in Nnewi. “I want to give Obiano an advice. I have been warning him for the past three years to beware of sycophants. If anyone tells him his office is not vacant, that individual is deceiving him. He should not leave the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). If he ever tries that he should forget reelection. Many problems will still crop up in APGA but he should stay and tackle the problems. Again, he has problems with a lot of politicians. He should go make peace with them, especially Peter Obi, Ifeanyi Ubah and many others. If he makes peace with these ones, there are chances of his second tenure. “On Victor Umeh - I gave out a prophesy three years ago at Obi Umudim that he is not going anywhere. If he wants to go further in politics he should remember where he started.” The man of God who prophesied Buhari’s election victory and political crises that will later culminate into Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu problems said emphatically that the publisher of The AUTHORITY Newspapers, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah would one day govern Anambra State. His words: “That young man (Ubah) has a lot to offer. He is destined to turn things around. He has the capacity and ability to turn things around for the best in Anambra State in just two years. He will turn the state around for the better. If he should listen to the direction of God, he will certainly govern the state. But he should beware and wary of sycophants. He should not forget how the sycophants ran him down in his first aspiration to govern the state. People came to tell him what they are not. He spent heavily on them, yet they did not do anything for him in return to actualize his aspiration.”

Critics of the political goings-on in Anambra State have continued to haul darts at Governor Willie Obiano – accusing him of ineptitude in handling the affairs of the state. The critics insist that Chief Obiano, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), should forget his ambition of getting a second term in office as the governor of the state. The latest salvos against Obiano are coming from a stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and leader of the Oganiru Anambra Movement in the state, Dr Alex Obiogbolu. Obiogbolu had contested for the governorship ticket of Anambra State under the PDP for some time and nearly clinched the ticket. Obiogbolu has expressed regrets that the Willie Obiano administration is not doing enough to protect Anambra traders and businesses from systematic exploitation by commercial banks and oppressive government policies. He said the current administration in the state does not have what it takes to lead Anambra State to economic prosperity. Obiogbolu spoke during the award ceremony organized by the Anambra Consensus Project for 57 traders in Anambra State. He said that he was happy that at last the immense contributions of traders to the economic growth of Anambra State were being recognized. He commended the awardees for their awards and reminded them of the enormous responsibility the award had bestowed upon them. He advised them to continue to maintain high ethical standards in their business and commercial activities which had brought recognition to the people of the South East. Dr Obiogbolu, however, expressed concerns that the state government was not doing enough to protect the interests of the traders who contribute so much to the overall socio-economic development of the state. He decried the insensitivity of the commercial banks who, in 2015 alone, collected over 370 billion naira in deposits in Anambra State and yet extended credits to Ndi Anambra of less than 40 billion naira. The PDP stalwart pointed out that the Anambra State government had not done anything to protect the huge deposit being taken outside the state to empower outsiders at the expense of the industrialists, manufacturers and traders many of whom actually need soft loans to finance their businesses. He further condemned the lack of access to foreign exchange to these traders for importation, lamenting that many warehouses were virtually empty, whilst the government finds foreign exchange for frivolous foreign trips. He advised the Willie Obiano administration to be more responsive and alive to their social obligations to the people of Anambra, saying that the situation where their brothers and next of kin in other states were killed or their property destroyed and no one spoke up for them was unbecoming of the renowned Igbo unity and doctrine of “Onye aghana nwanne ya”. Dr Obiogbolu stated that leaders must be alive to their responsibilities and that Ndi Anambra “do not expect salvation from the federal government as we are currently witnessing but we expect our government to rally our people and lead us to economic prosperity”. He reminded the gathering that there was nothing that can kill the Igbo spirit of perseverance and faith in God and self as 45 years after every adult was given 20 Nigerian pounds irrespective of their wealth, the South East has become the home to the highest number of billionaires per square kilometre and has the lowest poverty rate in the country.

Gov Obiano team adopting strategy aimed at blackmailing Anambra State stakeholders...what a hatchet job! Starting with Ifeanyi ubah, Peter Obi and others to follow. By Ikechukwu Emeka Onyia. Last week, one Judy Iyke from Aguleri (Gov Obiano home town) chronicled an article about whom he first dropped in a WhatAapp group for Ndi Aguleri and later circulated same to other social media platforms. In that very article, the blackmailer whom I later learnt that his paymasters were cabals of Aguleri around Gov Obiano stated that Dr Ifeanyi Ubah killed his cousin Kate Ubah for rituals ten years ago. While there is no such name like Kate Ubah or any such story in Nnewi, I stand to call Gov Obiano to caution his brothers and sisters that were executing such a hatchet job. Just yesterday again, the particular young man in his usual style wrote again that Peter Obi equally killed his father for rituals. Initially, I never wanted to give this character any attention as that would dignify him, but having gotten information that he is backed by Gov Obiano led administration to go into blackmailing people, I decided to take on him. My source also stated that Obiano led Govt has also penciled down the following names for blackmail. 1. Ifeanyi Ubah 2. Peter Obi 3. Andy Ubah 4. Soludo 5. Osita Chidoka 6. Uche Ekwunife 7. Tony Nwoye 8. Stella Odua 9. Dubem Obazie 10. Ezemo 11. Emeka Offor 12. Arthur Eze 13. Chike Obidigbo. 14. Etc. I did not take my source very seriously until the same Aguleri guy chronicled another article yesterday misleading the public that Peter Obi killed his father for rituals the same way he earlier chronicled a similar article targeting at Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah. I confronted the guy on WhatsApp group with this respect, but also wondered why a governor that should be focused on maintaining a golden state handed over to him should be funding his kinsmen in engaging into blackmail targeted at respected Anambrarians. I was even surprised to see this people going even further blackmailing the same Peter Obi that did not only fight but made so many enemies just to make an Aguleri person governor. The writer of the blackmailing article may like to be reminded the role played by Gov Obiano during the bloody Aguleri Umueri war. I hereby drop this question to this guy sent for executing this hatchet job: Was Willie Obiano a peace maker during that war or a Financier? Was he not a war financier? Why did they give him the title Akpokuedike Aguleri thereafter the war? Before picking another person for blackmail, please ask the Gov Obiano the foregoing questions. The blood of Anambrarians wasted in that avoidable communal war needed answers in relation to the above stated questions. I hereby call to remind you that what Anambra people want is development not blackmail. However, when you chose to engage into blackmailing Ndi Anambra instead of working for Ndi Anambra, you only make Correction 2017 easier. More reasons I stand for #Correction2017 |

Speaking at the event, Kinnear described Dr. Ubah as a man of vision and full of ideas. He said "we found FC Ifeanyi Ubah worthy of our partnership as we share the same vision and bright ideas. Highlight of the Nnewi visit was the unveiling of the Football Made in Anambra Project, which saw over 1,000 school children from across the 21 local government areas in Anambra State, fully kitted in their Football Made in Anambra jerseys. It became a day to remember for the school kids when Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah announced that the jerseys, soccer boots and footballs that were given to them for the event were gifts from the Anambra Football Association, stating that it was the first step toward actualizing the 1 Family - 1 Footballer initiative.
