Gunmen that abducted Dr. Andy Ehanire, Executive Director of Ogba Zoo and Nature Park in Benin, the Edo State capital, on Sunday, tricked the murdered policemen with beer, Vanguard reports.

The victim, Ehanire, is the younger brother of Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire. Giving insight on the incident, one of the Zoo’s staff told Vanguard that the assailants came as fun seekers.

According to the staff, “after I finished my morning duties, people began to enter the zoo. At this time, my boss had not come. When he came at about 1p.m., I went to tell him that I had a birthday party to attend and he gave me permission to go.

I saw people running for safety and the boss being taken away. It was those we met at the scene that told us what happened. They said one of the kidnappers paid to enter the zoo with worn out money, which was rejected by the casher at the gate.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said that as far as federal government appointments to public offices and key positions are concerned, the era of “godfatherism’’ is over, NAN reports.

The minister stated this in Abuja on Sunday, September 24, at a thanksgiving reception by the newly appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Culture, Grace Gekpe.

A man who connived with two native doctors to rape his daughter for money ritual purposes has been remanded in prison in Ekiti.

A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State has remanded a 55-year-old old man, Bashiru Adeyanju, after he confessed that two native doctors instructed him to have sex with his 17-year-old daughter as part of a money-making ritual.

Tribune reports that Adeyanju confessed that he had slept with the daughter about nine times while the native doctors also had carnal knowledge of her all in the ritual process.
Adeyanju who said he his quest to make it in life led him into sleeping with his daughter, however, said he was not happy that he was the only one charged to court for the crime while the native doctors are still free men.

“We were three people that committed this crime, but I’m surprised that I was the only one police charged to court.”

The presiding magistrate, Mrs. Dolapo Akosile, assured him that the others would soon be arrested and prosecuted:

A 10-year-old boy was killed and 10 others injured in Togo’s capital as hundreds of thousands of opposition supporters demonstrated Wednesday, the security minister said.

1. Supplement Yourself

Take calcium and magnesium supplements throughout the month, as these nutrients work in concert to aid muscle relaxation. A Junior Secondary School pupil I of the Lekki British International School, Lekki, Lagos was supposedly expelled for putting sulphuric acid and ethanol in the water bottle of his classmate.

It was gathered that the 12-year-old was envious of the 11-year-old female classmate, who had beaten him to the first position in the first and second terms.

The incident was said to have happened around 1.30pm on Wednesday, Sept 6 as the school resume for the third term section, when the 12-year-old allegedly sneaked into the school’s laboratory and stole the acid and ethanol.
