The visa date starts from when you applied to the following year. So if you apply, this August 2021 the visa will expire in August 2022 (A year)

Based on your experience, should one get an accommodation contract in which the date starts from the visa application month or a contract that starts towards the beginning of the semester (October)?

I got the Visa in May of this year. First rejection applied with CC limit of 10,000$ (about 4 million Naira)
