Literature / When God Says No! by Floeta(f): 4:44pm On Mar 25, 2010
When God says no
I start to feel weary
I feel a chill up my spine
And I begin to then query
Why do you deny my requests?
You said you’ll do what I ask Lord all the time

I look down away from God
Am I to seek other options
Other roads other paths
Heading to destruction
So now I’m open to corruption

Because I’m angry…
I asked in good faith
I prayed and I prayed
But all to no avail

So I give up
I give up
This race though not a game
Is no fun when I play
According to the rules
That govern each day

Two weeks later here I am
I feel weak and I cannot pray
Has it really been that long since I’ve fallen from grace
Nothing has changed, at least for the better
I am dismayed, I feel alone and bitter

My brother, dear brother,
What have you done?
You have gone astray because you didn’t get what you want
Turned your back on God your creator
And Jesus Christ your mediator

Don’t you know He has the whole world in He’s hands?
And He’s able to do
More than you even imagined
Though you feel it was your time
Don’t you know He’s got a plan

He’s not a man that He should lie
How can you query the most high
He’ll make your fruits perfectly ripe
But you’ve got to stick to the true vine

I know you feel that He’s not listening
As you yearn for what you believe should be
He’s arms are not shortened and He hears your every word
Harkin to the word - be content with that thorn

Be happy with the favour of the most high
That is poured on you so graciously at all times
Don’t be discouraged
Cause He’s saying to you…
My power works best in your weaknesses too!

“For God can use sorrow in our lives to help us turn away from sin and seek salvation. We will never regret that kind of sorrow. But sorrow without repentance is the kind that results in death.”
(2 Corinthians 7:10)
