ezenwaez: N-Power Beneficiaries Criticize Alleged Plan to Abolish Humanitarian Ministry
The N-Power beneficiaries have criticized the federal government’s reported plan to dissolve the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
In a statement signed by Nazifi Mohammed Abubakar, President of the Kano State Chapter of N-Power Beneficiaries, the group expressed serious concerns over the rumored decision, highlighting the ministry’s crucial role in addressing humanitarian crises, alleviating poverty, and promoting social welfare.
Abubakar noted that the creation of the ministry was a strategic move aimed at streamlining and coordinating humanitarian interventions, disaster management, and social welfare programs across the nation. He warned that dissolving the ministry would hinder the government’s ability to tackle Nigeria’s socio-economic issues effectively.
He also emphasized that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation is one of the few agencies closely connected to ordinary Nigerians and plays a key role in projecting the positive image of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The group further pointed out that the ministry oversees vital social investment initiatives such as the N-Power program, Conditional Cash Transfers, and the Homegrown School Feeding Programme. Abubakar cautioned that dissolving the ministry would result in poor coordination of these programs, potentially leading to increased corruption and mismanagement within the agencies.
“Nigeria faces numerous challenges, including internal conflicts, natural disasters, and a growing number of internally displaced persons. The ministry is critical in managing these issues, and scrapping it would create a gap that could worsen the situation,” Abubakar explained.
He also stressed that without the ministry as a central coordinating body, corruption and inefficiencies could flourish, further undermining the effectiveness of these vital programs.
“We call on the federal government to rethink this alleged plan and focus on strengthening the ministry’s role in addressing the country’s socio-economic challenges.”
The N-Power beneficiaries also expressed their solidarity with other concerned groups, including civil society organizations and humanitarian experts, who have urged President Tinubu to reconsider any plans to scrap the Ministry. Wetin be ur own weda dey scrap or not, can't u just fight for d outstanding payment ist |

ezenwaez: Npower News: Positive Developments May Occur This or Next Month, Says Adeshina A. Adex, Npower Publicity Secretary
According to Npower News, Adeshina A. Adex, the Npower Publicity Secretary, stated that the National Association of Npower Beneficiaries has been working to reach out to the influencer known as Verydarkblackman, urging him to use his platform to raise awareness among concerned Nigerians about the unpaid stipends owed to Npower beneficiaries, which have been outstanding for 9 to 12 months. Adeshina A. Adex expressed his gratitude for how beneficiaries have responded positively to Verydarkblackman’s involvement.
Npower News further reports that due to tomorrow’s public holiday, Comrade Kehinde James, the Npower National Chairman, who represents Niger State and resides in Abuja, will visit the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation on Tuesday or Wednesday. He will follow up on a submitted letter and pursue meetings with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and the new CEO of NSIPA, Dr. Badamasi Lawal.
Adeshina A. Adex also mentioned that despite being confirmed by the Senate, the new CEO has been frequently seen at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. He added that there is a strong likelihood that progress on Npower payments will be made this month or next. He encouraged beneficiaries to continue applying for other social investment opportunities, such as loans and grants, while awaiting their payments. But tot u guys said CEO has not been confirmed? ezenwaez: According to recent updates from Npower News, the payment process for Npower beneficiaries will begin after the Senate concludes its recess. This was discussed during a 50-minute live session on Facebook with Npower officials, including the National Chairman, Abdulrahaman Ibrahim, Publicity Secretary Adeshina A. Adex, and Comrade Kehinde James, the Npower Chairman for Niger State.
During the session, Comrade Kehinde James mentioned that he visited the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and met with the Personal Assistant to the Permanent Secretary. He was informed that the Director of the office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NSIPA had approved the payment, but the delay was due to the fact that the Senate has not yet verified the new CEO of NSIPA. The Senate is expected to resume from recess on either the 16th or 19th of this month, after which the payment process will begin.
Comrade Kehinde James also shared that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had frozen the payments due to ongoing investigations, but the stipends would be released once the new CEO, Dr. Badamasi Lawal, assumes office. The ministry is aware of the removal of GMB due to his autocratic leadership style. He further clarified that only Npower batch C stream 2 beneficiaries would receive payments, as batch C stream 1 had already been paid.
Regarding media engagement, Comrade Kehinde James explained that arranging an interview with Brekete Radio has been difficult, requiring an affidavit and waiting for their turn due to the high number of pending requests. He also approached Arise TV and Channels TV for interviews, but was informed that it would cost 200,000 Naira since they are privately owned. As a result, the National Association of Npower Beneficiaries is considering using NTA, a government-owned media outlet, due to its cost-effectiveness.
The session concluded with Comrade Kehinde James, Adeshina A. Adex, and Abdulrahaman Ibrahim stating that all internal disputes within the association have been resolved. They assured that payments will commence once the frozen funds are released by the EFCC under the authority of the new CEO of NSIPA, Dr. Badamasi Lawal, following his Senate screening. Comrades In action weldone, pls just waona say dis without court affidavit berekete wnt do anythg,it's Dr process,it's rite in front of d station.
