Personally i am not convinced that Dapo Lam is not going there for the wrong reasons,i still think he need to convince not only me but veryone of us that is not well disposed to his candidacy.I'm not impressed at all,the basis of my criticism of your candidacy is based on the fact that you chose Political Gimmicks such as seeking for people's endorsement on the internet over grassroot development. I'm a realist and the reality on ground is that you need to do more to win people to your side in view of the PDP dominance in the country. And Winning people is not only by being witty with words but by embarking on a meaningful ,life-saving projects that will invariably affect the life of the people of Oyo state, i haven't heard or seen anything from you at all . All said and done, i still think the final decision lies with the people of Oyo state, may the best person win come 2011. |
Thanks for the useful information, however i have been trying to place the code for the adsense on my blog but anytime i do that it's always show the Page cannot be displayed error message, what could be wrong . |
It's really disheartening that People like Dapo Lam can come up with an idea of contesting for any position in Nigeria. It is even an insult comparing himself with Bankole the speaker of the House of Rep. He has shown us the stuff he is made off:how he can manage funds. His sheer ego, gross indiscipline and low level of intelligence demonstrated while his dad was the Governor of Oyo state speak volume of the type of leader he would be if elected.Let me remind him that Femi Otedola had the same opportunity he had and made the best use of it, we all know who Femi Otedola is today. It as an insult on our intelligence for you-Dapo Lam to remind us on the things you have done for the masses when you haven't done anything other than partying ,Dapo Lam the only thing we can remmember is your notice-me disposition that was the hallmark of your father's tenure. As a bonafide citizen of Oyo state,i say NO to DAPO LAM.You have no locus standi to run for election irrespective of the fact that you are a Nigerian.House what do you feel? |
I read with utmost grief and bewilderment the killing of three fellow corps members in Jos during the recent political violence in the state. I am writing this piece to tell those concerned that we are sick and tired of the situation, we are fed up with the way things are going ,we are aggrieved because our fellow countrymen seems to have lost their values : the true value of existence and that of being our brother’ s keepers . I must have seen or come in contact with the poor Adetola, a graduate of Geology from Olabisi Onabanjo University without knowing while he was an undergraduate in O.O.U. I can imagine how much money went down the drain, how much human effort, faith, perseverance and or endurance he had, just to graduate from the almighty O.O.U. I can feel the pain of his dad who must have spent a fortune raising him, I can imagine those days he would come home requesting for money for one thing or the other. I can imagine those days in school when he had to write Tests without the lecturers informing him and his colleague, I can imagine those period he had to write an unscheduled examinations, I can imagine those times he had to search for his missing results, I can imagine those months of waiting endlessly for his name to be forwarded to the N.Y.S.C for the scheme. How can one quantify the Joy, the hope and optimism of his father when he finally made the list of those that would eventually serve the fatherland? Can you also imagine the pains, turmoil and anger that enveloped the homes of the other two corps members who were slain by the uncultured, untrained, uncivilized Almajaris all in the name of 'HOLY WAR’? In view of the plight of other corps members who are not finding it so easy at their various places of primary assignments, one wonders if serving the fatherland actually worth it .Do you think serving one’s fatherland is worthwhile seeing the attitude of the Governor of Plateau state who had the intention of swearing -in the local government council chairmen despite the killings? Can he have the strength to do so or even address the aggrieved if those killed were his sons and daughters? How can one explain the disposition of the Police who were called immediately the incidence happened, report had it that the three corps members would have survived the attack if only they had the needed help? One wonders if serving the fatherland actually worth it when you think about the meager N9,500 monthly allowance given to corpers that is not even enough for transportation talk less of feeding. Do you really think serving one's fatherland is worth the stress thinking about the long hours of queuing during registration or the not so conducive environment we were made to live in at the orientation camp? Is it the exploitation of corpers by companies or those days of offering compulsory community service without the necessary resources that is worthwhile? I am aggrieved, I am disturbed, hurt and really worried. I believe I am speaking the minds of my fellow corps members. Things can't continue this way, this is not the first time Youths corpers will be at the receiving end. The fear of things like this made some of us preferred serving in Lagos. If only the poor Adetola had the power to influence his posting, his life wouldn’t have been cut short at the most promising time of his life. Why would anyone in his right senses chanting ALLAH AKBAR(meaning God is great) kill innocent and hapless fellow human being? What values are our Muslim brothers imbibing in themselves? If what happened in Jos is what Islam stand for, then I thank God for making me see the world from a different perspective, I can’t thank Him enough for making me choose a faith that preach peace, brotherliness and oneness. N.Y.S.C would be better off if restructured, Youth service should be optional, it should not be made compulsory for graduates. The right thing the Federal Government should have done is to allow graduates go back to their hometown for their youths service, the method of dispatching graduates to an unknown town should be stopped in view of the insecurity and instability in the land. Like I said earlier our Muslim brothers should educate themselves, it is barbaric and sinful to kill. Everybody has the right to life, the liberty to exist and associate freely without fear or trepidation. They should read and interpret their Quran very well. They should embrace dialogue, the spirit of brotherliness and that of loving one another. If God didn't show his love, they wouldn’t be celebrating eid el-Kabir .Generations would have been wiped away but for God's love. I share in the pain of Pa Odusole who lost a son, a son that would have made the difference, I share in the pain of the aggrieved, those who lost someone in the Violence .May the almighty God give them the fortitude to bear the loss. Corps members are mourning .Innocent bloods have been shed in the country and this particular one is uncalled for . God help us, God help Nigeria (Amen). |

But His foreign policy should be accomodating to africa in general, there are areas where America is found wanting as far as the continent is concerned. |
Congratulation to President Barack Obama,we should start seeing the didvidend in africa,or what do you guys think? |
Americans are on the verge of making a remarkable statement and changing the course of history as they elect the second black president. The world is at a standstill for a man of honor, a man who has demonstrated a good understanding of today’s problem as it affects the common man. What makes Obama Presidency significant is not because he is black; it is because he is one of the black men in the world with dignity, conscience, sense of patriotism and direction. Obama's model of change has restored the hope of the common man, he has demonstrated a good understanding of the problems that an average American faces and exhibited how best to tackle these problems. Is it his Tax plan for an even distribution of wealth or his plan to stimulate American economic growth that is not worth appreciating? In a world widely dominated by the capitalists, I think Obama's plan will go a long way to make the much anticipated effect as regards even distribution of wealth among americans. If Barack Obama wins, we will see a different American country that will take back its place as a world leader and a country that will be changed in all ramification. What lesson can Africa learn if Obama eventually wins ?In a continent where Politicians play to the gallery, engage in Political gimmicks without the interest of the common man at heart, having Obama as American President should be the beginning of an end to the mess which has been the hallmark of Governance in Africa .Imagine the sheer patriotism and passion that characterized the Presidential campaign, who will ever know that a 'common Plumber' will be the centre of attraction during the U.S presidential campaign? The lesson from this is that it is high time our leaders have the interest of the common man at heart; Leadership is not by writing and formulating policies that cannot have the desired effect or by making promises that cannot be fulfilled. Our leaders should know that modern Governance is beyond God- fatherism, Personal interest and Programs that lack the required bites. Africans at large should see an Obama presidency as a reason for a change in our orientation, a change in the way we think. Most of our problems actually started from our different homes, our upbringing determines what manner of leaders we will become in the future. What manner of leadership will come from a child who was brought up in an environment characterized by Corruption? Our leaders should emulate the American system, the excuse that the systems has been in existence for years doesn’t hold water, having the right people at the helm of affairs is the secret. Africa is blessed with talents, professionals that have made their mark in their respective fields yet we are still faced with fundamental problems. We have idealist and impressionist at the helm of affairs and until the status quo changes, we will still be tagged 'The developing Nations'. I have also watched keenly the support Obama enjoyed from Africans back home, since the day he made his choice known, the Obama Phenomenon is like a bug that has been felt by all, from his native home in Kenya to Nigeria, Obama is widely celebrated. I'm sure some of us did not put so much energy in our respective Countries Election as we have done with the American Presidential election. Yours truly cannot be found wanting, I actively participated in every issues during the campaign, I would have donated to his Campaign organization if not for the fact that donations are not welcomed from non -American citizens. In as much as we support Obama, of what significance is an Obama Presidency to Africa? Can an Obama presidency solve our electricity problems, improve our education sector, have a meaningful effect on our economy ?After all said and done, I don't think an Obama presidency will bring about the change that we so much desired in Africa. Rather it can only spur our leaders to bring about the desired changes. What do you think is the message he passed when he rejected donations from 'Madam President' of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, he is obviously telling us that we should use our money to solve our fundamental problems. It is disheartening that a Professor that knows the value of education will encourage people to pay millions of naira for table reservation for a fund raising dinner when the country's education sector is in a state of decadence, where is our sense of Patriotism? These are people that condemn the education sector, they are the ones that will tell anybody that cares to listen that the Country’s graduates are not employable. it's high time the people up there realize the need to give back to the society, in as much as they have the money to throw around, send their children to abroad because they have lost faith in our educational sector, they owe this country so much else the products of the condemned system will turn to be that armed robbers next door. |
