so, what you saying is, the current #365 to $1 is better than the #197 to $1 under the administration that "DIDNT SAVE"?
Yes. Jonathan squandered a lot of money .You have to factor in other elements of the economy for your assertions to stand .Have you considered how much we are earning from the crude oil sales to keep the exchange rate at dt level then ,juxtapose it with how much the current administration is earning or has earned .Mark my words ,Jonathan really ruined this country ! And things would have collapsed totally had he returned to power with his large team of looters ; his wife - Patience inclusive.

To show how flawed your assertion is, could you answer this simple question....

When exchange rate was N187/$1 during GEJ's tenure, what was the value foreign reserves?
You ve just played to the gallery again ! What happened towards the end of your GEJ as per the exchange rate and what was responsible ? Or did GEJ leave the rate at 187/$1 as you are claiming here ? You are displaying poor sense of facts .

Yes it can. In fact, that is what Nigeria needs. The alternative, which is war must never be considered. They need to be jarred towards the right path. Take Ghana for example. Believe it or not but Ghana was just as bad as Nigeria till Rawlings took power by force. The first he did was round up all the bad politicians and Soldiers and wiped them out. Ghana is better of for it today.
Thanks we should continue to hope and do the best we can .Happy new year !

Nigerians erroneously believe that "change" means a better life and cheaper foods. It is not and the basis of their failure as a people. Change starts from within. The change Nigerians desperately need begins with self reflection. To move forward, they have to admit to themselves that their actions in the last 50 years have been below par and they have to change the way they view what is normal and acceptable. What they have been doing so far is a man engaging in the same acts that have failed him and expecting a different result. The psychological rape Nigerians have subjected to in the last 50 years has completely destroyed every fiber of decency they have. It is so bad that a 15 year old has already understood the concept of what a "sharp guy" is. How do you grow a nation is the youthful foundation is already corrupted? How?
It may really be difficult .I'm tired .Can a totalitarian government , probably an honest military government solve the problems the way we almost had it in 1983 - 1985 of buhari/ idiagbon to put people on the right path ?

I am sorry to say most of you don't have critical analysis skills. A lot of people will take a mortgage to buy a house in essence borrowing beyond their immediate capacity to pay, hence loans are take to undertake purchase that are usually beyond your capacity to pay in one sitting but will be paid when spread over a period of time. Nigeria wouldn't need to borrow if Jonathan had saved his 56% portion of the ECA.
Leave them alone .Hate is their problem .The unreasonable ones hate The President .He wouldn't need their useless votes to win the second time !

Secondly, what are we doing to ensure these savings doesn't become another political noise, because, if another government comes and we hear the money has disappeared, all these Buhari noise turns totally nonsense.
Of course ,you would have known how it had better our lives if probably now you are exchanging 1000 naira for $1

Here is the problem. Where do leaders come from? Is it not from the citizenry? The definition of democracy let's us know that. You pick your leaders from the citizens in your country and the citizens are bad, the leaders you appoint from within you will also be bad. It is not a mistake that every single leader Nigeria has had have been piss poor. A 15 year old in Nigeria is already a "sharp" guy. A policeman stands confidently in the middle of traffic collecting bribe and the average Nigerian sees it as normal. My prediction; Even if Buhari is replaced the end result will still be the same. Who is going to replace him and from where? Is it from the same citizenry who believe in "settling"? Is it the same citizenry who think murdering suspects in the streets as the right thing to do? Bros, Nigeria is phucked and the question is, when are they going to realize it?
You are quite right .We are in a real mess .Almost a hopeless situation as the Judiciary has also been fingered in the bad behaviors permeating our society. Sir if I may ask ,what's the way out of this problems ? A practical and pragmatic solution .

.....Fulani herdsmen armed and supported by Buhari ......" Can you listen to yourself ? I see no reason why people like you should say anything .A billion blackmails cannot jeopardize The President second term ambition .He will surely win again .The reasonable citizens know DT he meant well for us .Rather ,people like you should check themselves .

My line of thinking is this. It's been what? Half a century of existence and Nigerians can't boast of one decent leader. How is that possible? If we are going to use the rules of probability at least by now it should have happened. Mathmatically, a country which has been in existence for 50 years should have had one good leader. What does this tell us. It tells us that the problem is not Nigeria's leaders but it's citizens. Below is a hypothetical conversation i had with a Nairalander who was blaming his woes on Buhari;
I agree with you .A cursory look at our activities shows that majority of us are greedy and self centered. But the leaders have more blame to share in that they can steer a new course and also live by example with a strengthened law
