Black Sunday: 19-year-old boy hacks mother to death, another hangs self in Bayelsa
Akam James Akam James

There was uproar in Bayelsa State after a 19-year-old teenager on Sunday in Agbura Village, a suburb of Yenagoa Local Government Area, hacked his 52 old years mother to death with a machete.

The incident, which happened in the early hours of Sunday, left residents of the area in shock when they discovered the mutilated remains of the deceased whose name was given as Mrs. Airen Ofongo.

However, attempt to apprehend the culprits identified as Samson, by the residents was not successful as he escaped into the forest through the back of their house.

When our DAILY POST visited the scene of the incident, policemen had cordoned off the place and evacuated the remains of the body of the woman to the mortuary.

Through details on the incident were sketchy, however, residents were seen in numbers discussing the bizarre incident.

One of the residents, who spoke in anonymity, said the boy was a cultist who denounced cultism a year ago, but has been under pressure from his gang members to rejoin them.

He said it was his attempt to rejoin his group that led to the argument which resulted into death of the mother. He said the mother and the young man identified as Samson, had been having heated argument over the issues before yesterday’s gruesome murder.

In another unfortunate incident in Aritelin, a suburb of the state capital, Yenagoa, a man reportedly took his life by hanging himself to a ceiling with a rope in his room.

His neighbours were said to have discovered his lifeless body dangling from the ceiling on Sunday morning.

Though the motives for taking his life could not be ascertained, Policemen who were called to take his body refused to comment as the place was cordoned off.

Confirming the sad incident, the spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Asimin Butswat, said he was yet to get full details from the Divisional Police Officers in charge of both divisions.
He, however, said information available to him, said the young man had fled the scene before he could be apprehended but promised to get more details.

Butswat, who gave the name of the mother as Airen Ofongo, said she was 52 years of age before she was killed by her supposedly son, as the police were yet to confirmed if the woman was actually the biological mother of her killer.

Miyetti Allah says mass murder is revenge for stealing 300 cows from herdsmen
Samson Toromade | 11:10 | 25.06.2018
The group's north-central zone chairman said the ethnic Berom people have been stealing cows from herdsmen for a long time.

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has explained why herdsmen were allegedly involved in the recent attacks that led to the death of at least 86 people in 11 communities in Barkin-Ladi, Riyom, and Jos South local government areas of Plateau State on Saturday, June 23, 2018.

Even though eyewitnesses have reported a death toll of well above 120, the state's police command said on Sunday, June 24, that 86 people were killed in the wave of violence with 50 houses also reported to be burnt.

The attacks took place in Xland, Gindin Akwati, Ruku, Nghar, Kura Falls and Kakuruk in Gashish District, as well as Rakok, Kok and Razat in the Ropp District, leading to subsequent retaliation by locals who reportedly targeted Muslims in some communities.

MACBAN, Nigeria's premier pastoralist body, has responded to the tragedy, claiming that it is a retaliation for the surge in cattle rustling in the state.

The chairman of the association's north-central zone, Danladi Ciroma, alleged that the indigenous Berom youths have been stealing cows from herdsmen, with about 300 cows lost to cattle rustling in the last few weeks.

He said security agencies can only stop the incessant clashes between herdsmen and the local communities when they bring cattle rustlers to justice.

He said, "These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don't support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission.

"There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well known to the communities but the communities are hiding them.

"Fulani herdsmen have lost about 300 cows in the last few weeks - 94 cows were rustled by armed Berom youths in Fan village, another 36 cows were killed by Berom youths. In addition to that, 174 cattle were rustled and the criminals disappeared with them to Mangu.

"Since these cows were not found, no one should expect peace in the areas. Even soldiers that went after the criminals to recover the rustled cows were shot by the armed rustlers and eventually escaped with all the cows.

"The government of Governor Lalong has done a lot to restore peace, but the criminal elements hiding among their people are the ones frustrating these peace efforts.

"Though the security agencies have tried, they need to do more by being fair to all parties; they should not neglect any report presented by Fulani of Berom because such report can lead to attacks and deaths if not properly handled.

"Criminals thrive a lot in Berom communities, but when the Fulani, who are always victims of their crime, react with attacks, they blame the government.

"These communities have leaders, why hide the criminals? They should fish out the criminals and hand them over to security agencies to avoid death of innocent ones.

"As it is today, the Berom man cannot go to farm, the Fulani cannot breed his cows in Berom Land.

"This can be stopped if the security agencies do more than what they are currently doing. The attacks will stop as soon as the security agencies stop Berom youths from stealing Fulani cows."

Some reports have noted that five Fulani herdsmen were killed by ethnic Berom farmers on Thursday, June 21, leading to the reprisal on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Plateau State government imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Jos south local government areas of the state, in the wake of the attack.

On Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari also blamed the escalation of the herders-farmers conflict on politicians who are taking advantage of the crisis for political gains in the upcoming 2019 elections.
Herders/farmers conflict

Herders and farmers have clashed for years over the battle for resources as roaming herdsmen tend to graze their cattle on farmlands, leading to tension and sometimes violence that leads to deaths of people on both sides.

Ever since herdsmen were blamed for the death of 73 people in attacks launched in Guma and Logo local government areas of Benue State in the opening days of January 2018, hundreds of people have been killed in similar attacks with Taraba and Benue bearing most of the brunt.

Nairaland GeneralThe Greatest Formula B To Point D by fosta(op): 1:37pm On Jul 04, 2016
Mathematicians say LIFE is like a line segment drawn from point B to point D.
What is point B to point D?
It's from point of Birth(B) to point of Death(D).
So life starts from the moment we are Born(B) until the day we Die(D).

But in the middle of B(Birth) and D(Death) is a mysterious C.
What is C then?It is CHRIST.
If we put Christ in the middle of our life(Birth--->Christ--->Death) our life will not end at D but extend to E.
What is E? It's Eternal Life.
So all those who put Christ in the middle of their life have Eternal life after Death
But those who do not put Christ in the middle of their lives don't have Eternal life after Death but they have F(Fire).

Definition of Life For Christians:

B------->C------->grin------->E
Birth Christ Death Eternal Life

Definition Of Life For Unbelievers:

B------->grin------->F
Birth Death Fire

Any one that avoids C must surely lose E

Veteran reggae musician Majek Fashek (real name Majekodunmi Fashek says Timi Dakolo infringed on his copyright by stealing his legendary classic Send Down the Rain song in 2013.

Angry Majek Fashek writes
“I felt bad when I learnt that he worked on my song without my consent. He did not even give me credit. He is a very bad artiste and he took advantage of the circumstance that I was facing during that time. The song is not a normal song; it is a spiritual hit song. Timi Dakolo does not know how I suffered to get that song. I fasted for seven days before I got that song. I partook in three days ‘white’ fasting before the song came to me. Timi Dakolo did not go through that. I did not fight him because I do not have time. Let God judge us.”“He broke the rules of copyright. He is a thief because in music business, he must take permission before he works on someone’s song. That is why we have COSON. I did not give anyone the right to do anything with my song. I have a management team I work with headed by Omenka Uzoma. Dakolo never bothered to look for me before stealing my song. He has infringed on the laws of copyright and he is not an original artiste. It is only people like Tuface, Wizkid, Olamide that are original.

TIMI DAKOLO'S RESPONSE

PEOPLE IT TRULY SADDENS ME TO SEE SUCH… I ALWAYS TRY TO DO THINGS RIGHTLY AND LAWFULLY… I PAID HIS MANAGER TO REMAKE THE SONG,I GOT MY INVOICE…I EVEN MENTIONED TO HIM DURING OUR REHEARSALS AT THE HEADIES.. SO HONESTLY I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS WRITE UP… OGA MAJEK FASHEK..I RESPECT AND LOVE YOU…YOUR VOICE GIVES LIFE TO LYRICS… YOU ARE ONE OF THE BEST MUSICIANS I KNOW..GOD BLESS YOU..

Why are blacks not wealthy

You've got to read this Excerpts from an interview with a Jewish leader about Blacks.
INTERVIEWER:
Why are blacks so behind Economically?
JEWISH LEADER:
The only thing blacks understand is Consumption. Blacks don't understand the importance of creating and building wealth.
The fundamental rule is to keep your money within your racial group. We the Jews build Jewish business, hire Jewish, buy Jewish and spend Jewish. There is nothing wrong with that but it is a basic rule blacks cannot comprehend and follow; "He kills his fellow blacks daily instead of wanting to see his fellow black do succeed" 93% of blacks killed in America are by other blacks.
Their leaders steal from their people and send the money back to their colonial master from whom they borrow the same money from.
Every successful black want to spend his money in the country of his colonial masters. They go on holiday abroad, buy houses abroad, school abroad, go for medical treatment abroad etc instead of spending this money in their own country to benefit their people.
Statistics show that the Jew's money exchanges hands 18 times before leaving his community while for blacks it is probably a maximum of once or even zero.
Only 6% of black money goes back into their community. This is why Jews are at the top and blacks are at the bottom of every ladder of society.
Instead of buying Louis Vuitton, Hermes, expensive cars, shoes, houses, dresses etc, blacks could industralize Africa, build banks and get rid of colonial institutions by putting them out of business.
INTERVIEWER:
What is your thought on failure of blacks after 150yrs?
JEWISH LEADER:
Well, nothing is ever the blackman's fault. His compulsive habit of killing his own, compulsive material consumption. His inability to build businesses or preserve wealth are usually somebody else's fault.
INTERVIEWER:
So what can blacks do to liberate themselves
JEWISH LEADER: Blacks must take responsibility. Blacks must unite. And vehemently fight corrupt leaders who run down their country and run to IMF as though IMF is Father Christmas. They need to look inwards otherwise they will continuously remain colonized and lose their place in history.

Blackout in Yenagoa. In as much as I condemn the actions of the angry youths, I will also condemn the activities of the PHED . Residents of Yenagoa hardly see power yet they bring outrageous bills every month. Sometimes in a month you only use Power for just 20 hours and they bring a bill for 5, 300 (for a 1-bedroom apartment). Considering the financial situation of people in the state, no salaries for months, fuel price have increase, people are just struggling to eat. Some of them watch TV and listen to radio to ameliorate their problems, yet they don't get electricity for that. The no light situation doesn't stop the bills from coming. Are we paying for the darkness? Because their officials were beaten so they are punishing the whole state. Just as the angry youths took the laws into their hands, the PHED officials are also taking the laws into their hands by denying residents of Yenagoa power.

PoliticsBuhari Is Nigeria’s Problem, Not Its Solution – Pete Hoekstra by fosta(op): 7:46pm On Jun 17, 2016
US Wall Street Journals has published an article on its website which was authored by Pete Hoekstra describing Nigerian President, Mohammadu Buhari as “Nigeria’s problem and not its solution.”
The article accused President Buhari of stiffness, lack of vision and reactive approach to issues.
It reads, “Nigerian President Muhummadu Buhari writes of building an economic bridge to Nigeria’s future (“The Three Changes Nigeria Needs,” op-ed, June 14).
“It’s hard to see how his administration’s inflexibility, lack of vision and reactive approach will achieve this. Mr. Buhari notes that building trust is a priority for Nigeria.
“But an anticorruption drive that is selective and focused on senior members of the opposition party creates deep political divisions.
“Meanwhile, members of Mr. Buhari’s own cabinet, accused of large-scale corruption, walk free. Seventy percent of the national treasury is spent on the salaries and benefits of government officials, who make upwards of $2 million a year.
As for Mr. Buhari’s ideas to rebalance the economy and regenerate growth, his damaging and outdated monetary policy has been crippling.
“The manufacturing sector, essential to Nigeria’s diversification, has been hardest hit, exacerbating an already fast-growing employment crisis.
“Foreign investors have started to flee en masse. Mr. Buhari makes only brief mention of the country’s deteriorating security situation. But security and stability are precursors to economic growth and development.
“Boko Haram has been pushed back for now, but little attention is paid to the structural issues that have spurred its rise.
“Instead, the Nigerian government has diverted much-needed military resources to the Niger Delta, where rising militancy has reduced Nigeria’s oil production to less than half the country’s capacity, and half the amount required to service the national budget.
“Much of these tensions arise from Mr. Buhari’s decision to cut amnesty payments to militants and an excessively hard-line approach in a socially and politically sensitive environment.
“Other ethnic tensions are also growing. In the country’s south, protests have been met by a bloody response from the Nigerian military, stoking the fire and galvanizing support for an independent state of Biafra.
“Rising tensions could again pose one of the greatest threats to Nigeria’s stability and future.”

This is the shocking moment a reportedly drunk man dives into a moat surrounding a lion enclosure so he can "shake hands" with the big cats.

Onlookers scream as the 35-year-old man wades across the chest high waters towards the large animals waiting for him at the water's edge.

Mukesh Kumar was visiting Nehru Zoo Park in Hyderabad with friends and had reportedly been drinking beforehand, when he spotted the lion's exhibit.
He then decided to take a dip and jumped down 12ft below the viewing platform.

As the footage shows, his sudden jump and loud noise of the splash created havoc among the visitors.
While they frantically tried to tell him to stay put, a drunk Mr Kumar waded forwards while lions Krishna and Radhika waited for him.

He could be heard singing: "Please come to me my darling", while eyewitnesses and police say he then began requesting the lions shake hands with him.
But the animals seemed uninterested with some walking away.

Quick-thinking animal keepers through down a pole for the man to grab on to and be hauled out.
Park curator Shivani Dogra said: “The lioness Radhika was inside the enclosure but the person was rescued unhurt by its keeper

“After preliminary enquiry it was found that Mukesh was in an inebriated state and had jumped inside the enclosure to go near the lion.
"He has been handed over to Bahadurpura Police."
Mr Kumar spent the night in police custody and was charged under various sections of the Wildlife Protection Act.
Asian News International
He was rescued by zoo staff
Police inspector Harish Kaushik said: "He told us he wanted to see the lions up close and shake hands with one of them.

"He is lucky enough to have survived.
"The zoo keepers told us that it was the time of the cats for their feed and they responded to their voice when called out.
"We have booked him but will again question him after he sobers up."
Mr Kumar works as a labourer with L&T Metro Rail in Hyderabad, he is original from Rajasthan in the north of India.

MAN SURVIVES AFTER JUMPING ONTO LION'S DEN TO COMMIT SUICIDE

A 20-year-old Chilean identified as Franco Luis Ferrada Roman, has reportedly survived an attack by lions after jumping into their enclosure.

Mail Online reports that the man stripped naked and jumped into the lions’ enclosure with the aim of committing suicide, but he survived the incident while the lions were killed.

The man being ;played with’ by the lions.
It was gathered that the two African lions were put down as they severely mauled the man who had broken into their cage early on Saturday.

One of the lions playing with the man when he jumped inside their enclosure.
Mr Roman has since been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and was said to be recovering fine after initially being in a grave condition.

Zookeepers intervened in the attack when they saw the lions ‘playing’ with the man, and shot the two lions in order to save his life.

Some of the lions attacked the man as soon as he entered.
The zookeeper explained afterwards, that the park was crowded with visitors at the time of the incident.

Speaking also on the incident, Alejandra Montalva, director of the zoo, said: “We believe that this person entered as a visitor and paid for his ticket.

“Later he trespassed into an area where the public are not normally allowed and we understand that he forced the roof of the lion’s enclosure.

“It was from there that he jumped, took off his clothes and started to attract the lions.”

While expressing her sadness with the incident, Montalva noted that she was deeply affected by the death of the animals, adding: “the zoo has an established protocol because people’s lives are very important to us” and that there were no fast-acting tranquilizers available to stop the lions from mauling the man.
