A typical Christian, Jewish or Islamic state will frown at other religions and try to influence and or force citizens to conform to the state religion alone. This is counter productive to development and the western nations became mostly secular after realizing this. Many Arab/Islamic states are yet to figure this out and many will do so in the future as I am convinced that secularity is the ultimate destiny of mankind.
