It's a current affairs show focused on the political scene back home but with some comedy baked in so it doesn't get too boring. Truth be told na only depressing news we dey hear these days, president don die, president never die, dem kill ppl for Jos, dem pursue ministers, dem select the same thief thief ministers again, so I try to keep the topics light but pass the info at the same time. If you like the video pls spread the word by leaving a comment on the youtube page. lol why are people getting so angry because of the posts? A confraternity like everything else in life is what you make of it. I honestly would like to see confra reformed to what the fore-fathers originally intended - A group of young nigerians coming together to share ideology, comraderie and become life long friends with a strong bond. If you look at it that way you will see that a confraternity is nothing different from Kegites, Rotary and other such associations. People with different backgrounds coming together to meet, socialize and become a part of something new and exciting. The violence was what led us astray. As nigerians we are more predisposed to violence. I remember when I first visited the US and met a friend who said he had never been in a fight in his entire life. That was a shocker to me. Maybe it's the military rule, maybe it's because we're used to seeing Mopol flogging people with koboko, maybe it's the carnage meted out during tribal riots, maybe it's the good old "do me I do you god no go vex" mentality I don't know what it is but we are more than a little violent. So now you have groups of mostly guys in the peak of their physical strength (18 - 25 yrs old), ofcourse feeling absolutely invincible because at that stage in life one doesn't have much to lose and then you give them an identity in the form of membership to a secret group. You give them colors to wear, signs to throw and code words to use. You give them something to hold dear, something to protect and ultimately something to fight for, and this is where as Fela said Confusion break bone! I don't think that the confraternities themselves are bad. I think it's the violence and the stigma attached to them that makes them bad. If confra was legalized and all members are allowed to register openly, wear their colors openly and so on, it will remove the cloak of darkness under which the bad eggs hide. It will create a situation where if for instance Buca boys get into a fight, all the VC has to do is look at the list of Buca boys from their membership book and immediately hold them accountable. Accountability is the #1 reason why regular citizens do not commit crimes. It is because we know that if we do it someone will be able to trace it back to us. By letting confra exist as secret societies you are giving them that cloak of darkness to hide under. For close to 2 decades the government has been fighting them the wrong way. Why don't you just legalize the thing, have everyone come out and then let the regular student body see that these guys and girls are just human beings like you and there's no reason to fear them. Once that fear factor is taken away then we will all be back to our level ground. This will be a win win situation for all, confra boys on campus can go to class in peace and graduate on time, the regular students will no longer live in fear, schools such as Ekpoma will drop their notoriety as danger zones so their admission rates will go up and last but not least old confra boys can come back and socialize with the young ones in peace so we can all sing our sweet songs, drink and be merry. I long for the day when we can all come out, say yes 10 years ago when I was in college I was a confra boy and not have to get into a long diatribe on why it is or isn't bad. I don't believe in shout outs because as someone said earlier we are giving out privileged information and come away looking silly but in conclusion all I will say is honor thy father. Those who understand will understand. |
thirded. I'm not trying to spoil biz for you player but it really isn't all that. |

lol @ 4play Confra is what you make of it. The smart, level headed members learn leadership, team building and organizational skills while the riff raffs find an avenue to commit crimes and other unspeakable things in the name of beef. If you look at the average violent confra boy you will find that he was a ruffian before he joined the association. The key to cleaning up the organizations is to stop blending touts. A lot of these confras have ideology but how can you get it into an idiot's thick skull? They take advantage of the high level of brotherhood to perpetrate all kinds of violence for ridiculous reasons. Then ofcourse we have the mummy's boy who enters bush and starts to believe that he is now rambo. These are the most dangerous because they will go and buy trouble, get beaten up by Ju men and the confra will be forced to retaliate because of the retard. |
