AjaraEwuro: The website is ok, come on, what is it that you people have to criticise everything done in here? Criticize?no we are just tryn to be realistic. In Naija, u dont live on "would be's", u live on "what is". i STILL BELIEVE IN NAIJA THOUGH. Fhemmmy: Now one said the website is not OK, but i will visit there in another 6 months, and see how many links would be broken AjaraEwuro: Good for you then, why not find something better to do in six months time. lets all see what happens in 6 months. will this operation Re brand Naija sustain the test of time? Ewuro, i lik ur optimism though. i used to be lik that but now i live on what i see not what can happen. |

Backslider: THE YOUTH IS STILL THE ONLY ONES THAT HAVE NOT BEEN CORRUPTED THE WAY WE THE GROWN ONES HAVE BEEN CORRUPTED. Dude!do u live in naija and r u nigerian?the above statement may be wrong in the nigerian context. youths of this days may be more corrupt than their elderly counterparts. think yahoo yahoo boys!it is this same set of young boys now that will be leaders of 2mrw.why wont they be corrupt?its lik a vicious cycle. HOPE for naija- definitely. |

Fhemmmy: I am sure it will never lead to war, cos Nigerians cant handle war. True but what if it gets out of hand. in my own opinion, its already out of hand and requires all attention from FGN. but hey, the Nigerian factor wont permit. Fhemmmy: These people needs to be heard, how can a nation be making billions from the resources located in their area and the land is messed up and their farmers cant farm, their fishermen can fish and feed their family and earn some income, and yet you want them to be looking like lookman? let us get real. thats the saddest thing abt the story. i still beliv the best way to resolve the issue is thru dialogue.violence just worsens already bad situations. if we had a listening govt, that will be possible but we dont. again nigerian factor. |

KnowAll: I also agree with u, but all education where has it taking you and your tribe today. Education makes you a thinking man, lack of education makes u a zombie, but zombies make perfect soldiers, tell am to go right, na jorojarajo, right turn, left turn attention quick march, slow march. But lets call a spade a spade that is what the military is all about decipline. A decipline force can destroy anything in its path unlike an unruly force. ur point exactly pls. are u tryn to go tribalistic? there are lot of answers and examples to the question u asked. |
Politics › Re: Why Do We Have More Hausas In The Nigerian Army ? by foye57(m): 12:42pm On May 20, 2009 |
KnowAll: "hausas are cleverer than you think"
Someone told me a story that during the Biafra war, if the comander of a unit wants to know where the enemy position where, he will come around and talk to his soldiers and say
Commander : private Adekunle come here,
Priv Adekunle I am here sir,
Commander : Do you want double promotion,
Priv Adekunle : of couse sir,
Commander: infact I will not just give you double promotion I will make you an officer,
Priv Adekunle: Me officer ( the private starts dancing thinking he is a lucky man )
Commander: But there strings attached to it ( the commander now explained to the private as officer he will lead his men from the front,
Private Adekunle sensing the inherent danger involved in the task, now declined the promotion,
Priv Adekunle: oga, I know won be Lt anymore I rather remain a private.
The Commander now called private musa,
Private Musa: YES SIR,
Commander : You won be Lt ,
Private Musa: Yo mean me officer, the hausa soldier start praising God for the quadruple promotion ishau llao, allau arkubah o
The commander pinned the officer strip on his arm. Private Musa was the happiest man in the world
The Commander now informed now Lth Musa that the promotion comes with responsibilty.
Lth Musa accepted the responsibilty and now made a charged into the jungle with his men going after him, a few hundred yards down stream the men heard the crackleing of rifle fire, they all ducked. After about 20 miniutes of total silence the next in command saw Lth Musa's body down by the stream with a bullet in his head. he now call his troops to retreat to base, but with valuable information as to where the enemy fire was coming from.
On getting to base the Sgt brifed the commander.
The Commander now informed his troops that they know where the enemies are now and Lth Musa was a brave soldier. He now asked his men does any one wants to be an officer, all the Yoruba soldiers declined, another Hausa man Corpol Shehu volunteered. He led his men into this 2nd attack which was sucessful. After the operation he became a full Lt from a 2nd Lth and after successful operations he climed through the ranks until after the war in 1970. He was a major when the war ended.
This story is a true story, a lot of Hausa soldiers volunteered and those that where not killed live to tell the story as officers. That is the reason why there are a lot of Northerners in the army. cock and bull story! I'd rather say that most hausa's have nothin better to do thats why they end up in the army. most of them dont go to sch n u dont need a certificate to be in the army. |

If you dont know ask and it will expalined or demonstrated to you. my points exactly. God and religion shdnt be confused. this is wat the atheists on NL are doin, confusin God and religion. |

9jaganja: I say ban religion and community organizing should be our new religion. God my ass!!!!!!! Tell that egotistical being he isn't worth shit. He is a megalomaniac slowpoke!!!! aggressive, egotistical, violent, false pride, won't change, wants power, control freak and all the features of an irredeemably imperfect being. are u talkin abt God?If u r, its rather unbelievably AND UNWARRANTED! @poster. i feel lik agreeing to ur point but if u look beneath ur point, there r a lot of loopholes. for one thing i know, the only thing that Nigerians believe in right now which i beliv keeps them goin is GOD (mind u, not religion!). when everythin fails and there' s nothin to believe in again, u can only turn to GOD. agreeably, religion is the root of most religious/cultural clashes but i beliv this applies to Islam who are nothin but petty fanatics. i mean no insult but thats the straight truth.dont expect muslims to agree with me. i hav said this before, the only way to rid naija of all issues/problems is a total change in attitude and mentality of the populace which can only be achieved only by re-education and enlightening. |

i never had any believe in the re-branding thing anyways. i beliv its just another avenue to waste or siphon our revenues. i mean the FGN rebranding text that was sent to everyone doesnt make any sense. is it supposed to change our mentality or something?it was just a waste of money and some contractor wud hav been awarded the contract. i stopped being a fan of mrs re-branding since she agreed to take up ministerial job. And as usual she's exhibiting her usual traits - HYPING. this is the same thing she did in NAFDAC. she did work but she over-hyped her work. for the re-branding project to work,it has to come within and from the top to the bottom. |

@kiunleoshob
well said. i totally agree with u on this.religion is a sensitive affair n shd rather be treaded upon softly especially in a multi-faceted society like naija. as u rightly said, controls shd still be put in place to control their proliferation as the rate churches spring up is rather alarming. and this shd also apply to the muslims who seems to be competing with the xtians at all levels.i'm talkin abt their nasfat and the fact they hold revival so to speak even on lag-ibadan express road. i'm no fanatic just an observant. |
