Young Couple Face Jail After Selling Their Baby
Daughter For £5k To Buy An iPhone
A young Chinese couple are facing many years in jail after allegedly selling their baby daughter to raise money for an iPhone and other luxury goods. The couple, identified only as Miss Zhang and Mr Teng, are said to have placed anonymous advertisements in newspapers suggesting they would be willing to part with their baby - unborn at that stage - in exchange for 50,000 yuan (about £5,000). Police in Shanghai have charged the couple with human trafficking after accepting money for the baby, who was born at home and still only weeks, or months old, when sold.
Having received the money, which was deposited in their bank account, the couple went out on a spending spree, using part of the proceeds to buy an iPhone, State media reported today.
The unemployed couple, who have two other children, were also accused of using the money to purchase a number of luxury goods. They are understood to have told...continue to read

With short term affairs you move on and find the next one. But sometimes when real love develops the moving on can be pretty difficult. If you still have feelings for your ex and keep wondering whether your ex may still love you as well, here are the top signs to look for.
*Text Messages And Phone Calls
People who are still in love tend to cling on to their ex partners, and sometimes this shows itself in the form of trying to maintain a friendship. According to Punch,Christians in Osun State, especially members of the Osun Baptists Conference, on Monday protested against the attempted merger of Muslim students wearing hijab with the Baptists High School, Iwo, under the new education policy introduced by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Aregbesola last week inaugurated a new education policy in Osun, which the governor said had necessitated re-classification and merger of public schools in the state to reflect the new education system.
The governor, who expressed worry about the protest, however, urged the people to cooperate with the school restructuring, saying the policy was introduced as part of transformation of the education sector by his government.
Aggrieved Christians armed with Holy Bible and Hymn books trooped to the Baptists High School as early as 7:30am and dislodged the students and prevented teachers from entering the school premises.
They said that the merger of the schools, if allowed to succeed, would obliterate the Baptist heritage and that they would not allow hijab-wearing students in a school founded by Christian missionaries.
The Christian protesters defied the presence of armed security operatives and insisted that they would not allow the merger to work.
Presiding minister for the 35 Baptist churches in Iwo land, Rev. Bayo Ademuyiwa, said the church had nothing against the government's attempt to equip schools in the state but he said that the church would not allow any attempt to erase its identity and heritage.
He said, "Our forefathers and missionaries sacrificed their lives, resources and everything to establish schools, reputable schools with morals and values and that is why the Baptists in Iwo land are here to protect our schools.
"Without any doubt, the Baptists in the state are known for excellence, decorum and dignity. These virtues are highly cherished by the Nigerian Baptist Convention and this is the reason why the Baptists are making these two submissions which are, "Baptists in Iwo land say no to merger of schools and Baptists in Iwo land say no to the use of hijab in Baptists schools.
But the governor, in a statement by his media aide, Semiu Okanlawon, allayed the fears , promising that the interest of all groups, organisations, religious and social bodies would be protected in the ongoing re-classification and reform

Perform the simple following actions if a snake bites you or a friend -
1. Remain calm.
2. Immobilise the bitten arm or leg, and stay as quiet as possible to keep the poison from spreading through your body.
3. Remove any jewelry before you start to swell.
4. Position yourself, if possible, so that the bite is at or below the level of your heart.
5. Cleanse the wound, but don't flush it with water, and cover it with a clean, dry dressing.
6. Apply a splint to reduce movement of the affected area, but keep it loose enough so as not to restrict blood flow.
7. Don't use a tourniquet or apply ice.
8. Don't cut the wound or attempt to remove the venom.
9. Don't drink caffeine or alcohol.
10. Don't try to trace or capture the snake, but try to remember its color and shape so you can describe it, which will help you in your treatment.
11. Seek immediate medical attention!

The Chairman of Kano state, Baba Umar task force, said on Wednesday the shutting of 69 private schools due to their inability to meet the educational standards and functioning under bad conditions.
"The 69 illegal schools are also operating under disturbing conditions and this is against the laws governing the establishment of schools in the state,'' he revealed.
The chairman stated that the grounds for closing down the schools would be improper condition, absence of qualified teachers and appropriate facilities, tax overdue.
Still, baba umar mentioned that the task force did not intend to shut down schools based on the non-payment tax.
He, nonetheless, warned that"any default in tax payment is a serious offence which attracts a serious penalty."
He said that over 1,000 private schools had so far collected their verification/revalidation forms for the 2013/2014 academic session.
"The essence of this exercise is to take stock of the actual private schools that are operating legally in the state,''Mr. Umar said.
Other schools were also warned that the need to collect their verification/revalidation forms before the end of October. He, however, urged parents to ensure the prompt payment of their children's school fees, describing the non-payment of school fees by parents "as the highest act of irresponsibility on their part"

The Nigerian Army stated that nine suspected Boko Haram members were liquidated in Buni Yadi, Yobe State, on September 18, Wednesday, during a gunfight.
The appropriate statement signed by the spokesperson of the 3 Division of the Army, Eli Lazarus, has become available on September 19, Thursday.
The army said soldiers engaged the suspected terrorists in a battle at about 9.30 p.m. on Wednesday when the latter launched an attack in Buni Yadi, headquarters of Gujba Local Government Area of the state.
The Army Spokesman also said that parts of the local government headquarters were torched by the terrorists during the attack including two buildings in the military camp.
Eli Lazarus, while enjoining residents to remain calm, said the battalion has since reinforced the areas to prevent any such attacks.
The Army Spokesman said the battalion and other security agencies will continue to synergize efforts in a bid to rid the state of terrorist activities through collaboration between security agencies and residents of the state.
Eli Lazarus also urged the residents to continue to give timely and credible information to agencies to support the fight against terrorism.
